Bernard Malamud's fourth novel, The Fixer, is a work of high literary intent, for all the themes which had introduced in his earlier works, some of the most significant are the search for a new life, the prison motif, the necessity for involvement, the value of suffering, the scapegoat or orphan motif, etc., were refined and reworked in this books. But in my view, one of the most significant themes here is $quot;the dream of freedom$quot; achieved by the protagonist, Yakov Bok, at the end of it by the dream and hallucination technique. In his search for the increased opportunity outside of the prison-like confines of shtetl, his native village, Yakov Bok foolishly hides his Jewish identity and denies their God. For example, he shaved off his beard, changed his name to a Russian and threw his bag of prayer things into the Dnieper. So, not long after he had arrived in kiev the city of the anti-Semites, he was arrested and charged with ritual murder of a Christian boy. Inside the actual prison, by refusing to confess and betray Russian Jewry, he accepts responsibility for the Jewish community and becomes actively involved in the fate of his people. And he also accepts his childless, delinquent wife, and her child as his own. It brings us to the humanity in Malamud. But, above all, Malamud's greatness in this book is attributed to his most serious touch of freedom, the everlasing ideal of human race. We realize that Yakov becomes a brave freeman if we focuses on his last vision, $quot;If the state acts in ways that are abhorrent to human nature it's the lesser evil to destory it. Death to the anti-Semites! Long live revolution! Long live liberty!$quot;

본 연구의 목적은 「청소년활동 참여 실태조사」를 실시하여 청소년의 활동 참여 실태를 파악하고 근거 중심의 청소년활동정책을 수립할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 문헌연구, 전문가 자문, 설문조사, 전문가 간담회 및 워크숍, 정책실무협의회를 실시하였고, 이를 바탕으로 청소년활동을 활성화하기 위한 정책방안을 제시하였다. 실태조사 결과, 활동 정책과 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료가 확보되었다. 최근 1년간 청소년활동의 참여율은 97.5%로 조사되었으며, 참여형태는 '학교에서 단체로 참여' 가, 참여경로는 '학교 선생님의 권유로' 가 가장 많아 청소년활동 활성화를 위해서는 학교와 청소년관련시설 간의 연계가 중요함을 확인하였다. 또한 청소년활동 참여 실태변인이 정의적 특성에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 이는 청소년활동 만족도, 참여정도, 성취기대수준의 제고를 위해 청소년의 요구를 반영한 활동프로그램 개발, 지도자 역량개발, 시설·장비 개선, 청소년활동에 대한 다양한 정보제공, 프로그램의 사전교육 진행 등 종합적인 대안 마련이 필요함을 시사한다. 실태조사의 결과는 청소년활동정책 분야의 성과 지표로서의 역할을 수행할 수 있고, 조사데이터 공개를 통해 청소년의 긍정적 발달 등 다양한 청소년활동과 관련된 학문적 논의를 활성화할 수 있으며, 청소년활동 관련 정책의 효율적 운영방안을 제시할 수 있을 것이다. 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구에서는 연구결과와 직접적인 관련이 있는 '청소년활동 프로그램의 개선', '청소년활동 시설 및 단체의 기능 강화', '청소년활동 홍보 및 정보제공 시스템 구축'의 3개 영역에 대해 정책과제를 9개 추진과제와 27개 세부과제로 구체화하고, 각 세부과제에 대해 추진 단계별 로드맵을 구성하여 제시하였다. This study seeks to explore the current state of youth participation in extracurricular activities and provide the evidence-based data needed for policy development. Literary research, expert consultation, a survey, workshop, seminar, and policy councils were conducted for the purpose of this study, and used to devise a policy-making plan to promote extracurricular activities among the youth. We obtained the necessary baseline data by means of a survey. It was found that in the past year, 97.5% of youth participated in at least one extracurricular activity. The most prevalent extracurricular activities were those provided by schools and conducted in groups, and a teacher’s recommendation was the most common motivator for participating in an activity. Respondents chose time as the most influential factor in their ability to participate in extracurricular activities. Collaborative efforts between schools and youth-related organizations were also highlighted as important in promoting extracurricular activities. Variables of participation in extracurricular activities had a positive influence on affective characteristics, suggesting the need for a comprehensive plan to manage participants’ level of satisfaction, extent of engagement, program development that reflects the needs of youths, leadership training, facilities and equipment, provision of information and resources, and preliminary education. The results of our survey can serve as a performance index for extracurricular development efforts, facilitate academic discussion on the positive development of the youth through its public disclosure, and provide practical guidelines for the governance of related policies. Based on our findings, we identified 9 projects and 27 tasks that need to be performed in 3 target areas, namely “enhancement of youth extracurricular programs,” “improvement of extracurricular facilities and organizations,” and “establishment of a resource and information center.” Furthermore, we constructed a road map for each task with step-by-step procedures.

항공서비스전공 학생들의 객실승무원 역량에 대한 인식 유형 연구

본 연구에서는 주관성 연구 방법론인 Q 방법론을 적용하여 항공서비스전공 학생의 객실승무원 역량에 대한 인식 유형을 분석하였다. 문헌연구와 전문가 FGI를 통하여 총 33개의 Q 표본을 구성하였다. 이후 항공서비스전공 대학생 50명의 P 표본을 선정하여 데이터를 수집하고 Q 분류와 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 분석 결과 항공서비스전공 학생의 승무원에 대한 유형을 4가지로 도출하였다. 제1유형은 개인능력중시형, 제2유형은 고객보호중시형, 제3유형은 고객소통중시형, 제4유형은 상호작용중시형으로 나타났다. 또한 응답자들은 공통적으로 안전, 시간관념이 승무원 역량의 핵심요소라고 대답하였다. 반면에 후배양성과 고객의 요구를 예측하는 능력은 공통적으로 중요하지 않은 역량이라고 대답하였다. 이와 같은 결과를 기반으로 항공서비스전공 학생들의 유형별 특성을 반영하여 학생들의 상담 및 교육 커리큘럼 개발의 기초자료 및 진로선택의 참고자료로 사용할 수 있을 것이다.

옥외광고물 개선사업 색채 이미지 분석 평가: 마포구 서교로를 중심으로

도시의 차별성, 즉 정체성은 그 도시만의 차별화된 이미지 구축을 위한 창의적인 정책 및 전략개발을 통해 이루어져야 하며, 환경색채를 통한 도시 정체성의 확보는 그 도시만의 특성을 가장 효율적으로 드러낼 수 있는 효과적인 방법이다. 최근 지자체별로 공공디자인에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 관련 사업들이 수립되고 있다. 그렇지만 대부분의 사업들이 지역 고유의 특성을 반영하지 못하고 획일적인 사업결과가 나타나는 것이 대부분의 현실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 옥외광고물 개선교체사업의 개선·변경 설치 시 사용된 색채계획을 통해 자치단체의 지역 정체성을 확보할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 마포구 서교로만의 고유한 지역 정체성을 확립하기 위해 시행된 옥외광고물 개선교체사업에서의 색채가 가진 고유 이미지와 도시경관 속 옥외광고물의 실제 이미지를 비교하여 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 관련 사업들의 환경색채계획 현황을 살펴보고, 정책의 반영 여부와 함께 사업의 원활할 진행을 방해하는 요소에 대한 개선을 통해 서울의 도시 정체성을 확보할 수 있는 방안을 모색해보고자 한다. 이를 통해 서울시 각 지역의 도시 정체성을 확립할 수 있는 경관색채를 계획·제안하는 권역별 색채사용 가이드라인을 정립함으로써 지역의 정체성을 확고히 할 수 있게 하여 가로의 지역적 특성을 고려한 옥외광고물의 색채를 계획 시 지표를 제시할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다. The differentiation of a city, that is, the identity, is to be accomplished by a creative policy and strategic development for the establishment of a differentiated image of the city. The securing of the urban identity through environmental colors is one of the effective ways to highlight the characteristics of the city in the most efficient way. As local governments showed high interests in public design recently, a lot of related businesses have been carried out although most of them have led to a similar result without reflecting the uniqueness of the region. Thus, this study aims to explore the way to secure identity of local governments through color planning with regard to revision and modification to outdoor advertising units. To this end, the unique image of colors and the actual image of outdoor advertising units in urban views are compared in relation to the revision and replacement of outdoor advertising units to establish the unique identity of Seogyo-ro, Mapo-gu. In addition, examined are the current situations of environmental color planning in related businesses, and the ways to secure the identity of Seoul City by improving the disturbances of carrying out projects as well as reflecting them in policies. By establishing the guideline for regional view color suggesting and planning in an effort to enhance the urban identity of each part of Seoul, this study is expected to help securing of the regional identity, and present the direction of planning colors for outdoor advertising units in relation to the characteristics of streets.

초고에너지 우주선 관측을 위한 JEM-EUSO 프로젝트의 진행 현황

JEM-EUSO (Extreme Universe Space Observatory on-board the Japanese Experiment Module)는 국제우주정거장(International Space Station)의 일본 실험 모듈인 'KIBO'에 우주 망원경을 설치하여, 100 EeV이상의 초고에너지 우주선 관측을 수행함으로써, 초고에너지의 스펙트럼, 구성성분과 기원을 연구하는 국제공동연구 프로젝트이다. 구경 2.5 m로 60도의 광시야각을 가지는 대형 굴절 망원경을 통해서, 지구 대기에 우주선 shower로부터 발생한 형광 신호를 관측하려고 한다. 이 프로젝트는 2016~2017년에 발사되어, 5년 이상의 임무 수행을 목표로 하고 있으며, 그 전단계로 Prototype 시스템을 가지고 지상실험인 EUSO-TA와 고도 40 km에서 수행할 EUSO-Balloon실험을 준비하고 있다. 먼저, 망원경의 prototype을 2012년 12월쯤 미국 유타에 있는 Telescope Array(TA) 실험에 설치하여 우주선 또는 임의로 인가한 광원에 의해서 생성된 shower를 TA의 Fluorescence Detector와 함께 측정하여, 시스템 calibration과 더불어 지상에 검출된 우주선을 연구할 계획이다. 그 이듬해인 2013년 여름에는 Balloon에 망원경의 Engineering model을 실어서, 대기고도 40 km아래에서 우주선에 의해 생성되는 shower를 개발한 트리거 시스템을 통해서 검출하고, 대기권에 존재하는 UV background 광원들을 측정하여 우주선을 연구할 예정이다. 한국 그룹은 JEM-EUSO을 위해서 개발한 디지털 신호처리 및 트리거 장치의 제작 중에 있으며, 위의 실험들을 위해 망원경과 함께 조립하여 테스트를 수행할 계획이다.
