Objective To define the anatomy of the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve (LABCN) and the cephalic vein (CV) in the anterior forearm region of living humans using ultrasonography for preventing LABCN injury during cephalic venipuncture.Methods Thirty forearms of 15 healthy volunteers were evaluated using ultrasonography to identify the point where the LABCN begins to contact with the CV, and the point where the LABCN separates from the CV. The LABCN pathway in the forearm in relation to a nerve conduction study was also evaluated.Results The LABCNs came in contact with the CV at a mean of 0.6±1.6 cm distal to the elbow crease, and separated from the CV at a mean of 7.0±3.4 cm distal to the elbow crease. The mean distance between the conventionally used recording points (point R) for the LABCN conduction study and the actual sonographic measured LABCN was 2.4±2.4 mm. LABCN usually presented laterally at the point R (83.3%).Conclusion The LABCN had close proximity to the CV in the proximal first quarter of the forearm. Cephalic venipuncture in this area should be avoided, and performed with caution if needed.
전자스핀공명스펙트럼에 의한 saccharomyces cerevisiae의 세포환 연구

The intracellular free radicals produced at different stages of cell cycle of Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 24858 were investigated by means of electron spin resonance(ESR) spectroscopy. The synchronized cells by repeated starvation and refeeding revealed different ESR spectral pattern compared to that of asynchronized cells. Each spectrum centered at g=2.005, which indicates free radicals. The relative spin concentration was maximat at the end of DNA increase. The variation of the relative spin concentration at each distinct stage of the cell cycle was evaluated in relation to ascorbate concentration, L-galactonolactone oxidase activity, and ascorbate oxidase activity. The highest activities of L-galactonolactone oxidase and ascorbate oxidase were detected just before and at the maximum of relative spin concentration, respectively. And ascorbate concentration fluctuated through each stage of cell cycle with the changes of relative spin concentration, L-galactonolactone oxidase activity, and ascorbate oxidase activity. Thus it is suggested that intracellular free radicals should be related to cell cycle, interacted with ascorbate, and may play an important role in the cell cycle of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

In this paper, we interpreted and evaluated the relation between the sensation of equilibrium and biomedical signal automatically by applying the fuzzy theory. We induced the vertigo by using the caloric test, and presented the correlation between vertigo and biomedical signal by using the quantification method. We objectively analyzed the organic relation of the biomedical signal by fuzzy rule design using the table-lookup scheme and obtained good result in recognizing the level of the sensation of equilibrium. 본 논문에서는 퍼지이론을 적용하여 평형감과 생체신호의 관계를 자동해석하고 평가하였다. 온도자극법을 실시하여 현기증을 유발하였고, 생체신호의 정량화를 통하여 생체신호와 현기증과의 상관관계를 제시하였다. Table-Lookup 방법을 이용한 적응퍼지규칙 설계에 의하여 생체신호의 유기적인 관계를 객관적으로 분석하여 피험자의 평형감 정도를 판단하는데 있어서 좋은 결과를 나타내었다.

The period that crowns of lower third molars become completed was 16.1 years. 3. The period that completion of apices of lower third molars become completed was over 27 years.
