Vol.46 No.-

This article examined ancient China``s social aspects and consequent changeof male status through male-related characters. As heritage of father “氏” in contrast to “姓” - heritage of mother- developedthrough the ancient society, it was used mixedly with “姓” and also became anindex to identify status as well as whether being noble or mean. Therefore, “氏”may have reflected change of male status. Chinese character “祖”, which adds “示” meaning worship or ancestral rites on”且” - appearance of phallic symbols - reflected worship for male ancestorsarising from worship of phallic symbol. During the period when society changedfrom matriarchal one to patrilineal one, “祖” was commonly used to represent males above the generations of grandfathers. Original meaning of “父” was an adult male working with a stone ax andturned into a common name for adult males one generation older thanchildren”s generation in line with development of society and form ofmatrimony. Along the way, “父” extended its meaning to refer to anauthoritative father. Original meaning of “夫” was an adult male wearing an ornamental hairpin atthe time of becoming an adult and later changed to mean a husband. Patriarchal society in ancient China functioned to establish a firm position ofhusbands in families, and this concept of male domination was reflected in “夫”,eventually leading to mean an authoritative husband “夫” in contrast to anobedient wife “妻(婦). Original meaning of “男” was a male working hard for the harvest in farmlands. In agriculture-based ancient Chinese society, authority and status ofmales continued to increase, which was reflected in letters of “男” and “女” as is. Originally, “君” meant an august man delivering orders or congratulatorymessages with a position commanding the tribes, while “士” meant a high-rankedwarrior with a large ax in the battlefield. Meanings of “君”, “士”, and most ofother names in ancient China, derived from this root, reflect respect, authorityand good feelings for males.

Vol.65 No.-

Zhuangzi’s views of life are ‘the nature order', ‘Wandering in Absolute Freedom'. This dissertation focuses on Zhuangzi’s philosophy about ‘water' in order to adequately understand the three abstract concepts mentioned above. As ancient Chinese philosophers explained abstract ideas through specific images found in the natural world, Zhuangzi can be understood by focusing on his ideas of ‘water' on which his central ideas and attitudes were based. The nature order which is objective inevitability as the concept of the nature order. looks like flowing water which we cannot be against it. The attitude of Wandering in Absolute Freedom about reality is the political activity which was sought for through the transcendent meditation because this is the free movement which isn't against the flow of water and wanders anywhere. The appearance of water continually flowing day and night is the sample of the idea which represents continuity and amorphia. Water is amorphia because it continues to flow so widely and endlessly. And it is quiet and clean because it doesn't act by any awareness and will. Thus, water is the model which can specify the life of Wandering in Absolute Freedom of Zhuangzi who explained about the mind of wandering freely without being tied to space.

Vol.54 No.-

2003 Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science Vol.33 No.2

Oral melanin pigmentation is common in some races and ethnic groups. The gingivae are the most frequently pigmented intra-oral tissues. Melanin pigmentation is the result of melanin granules, produced by melanoblasts intertwined between epithelial cells at the basal layer of the epithelium. We present one case of melanin pigmentation of the gingiva of 26-year old female. Melanin depigmentation method is applying a 90% phenol solution to deepithelize pigmented areas, gingivectomy, epithelial abrasion, bone denudation, and split thickess flap. We chose epithelial abrasion using round diamond bur. The patient satisfies the result and have almost no pain and discomfort. But repigmentation potential must be noticed to patient.

Vol.0 No.68

`Fairyland` is one of important materials of Zhi-guai Novels in Wei-Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties. `Fairyland`, which is one of Oriental names for Utopia, reflects the aspirations of the ancient Chinese for Utopian society according to the specific circumstances of each era. So, this article conducted analysis on how social psychology of the people in Wei-Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties at a turbulent period had been represented through Fairyland at Zhi-guai Novels - typical literary genre of this era - and then reviewed its artistic accomplishment. `Fairyland` - space separated from reality - could be the original form of mankind`s Utopia. Given that aspirations for Utopia generally come from people`s dissatisfaction with reality or their pursuit of wealthy lives, strong aspiration for Utopia means that conflicts with reality and people`s uneasy psychology rising from sociopolitical chaos were severe as such. Prosperity of Taoism influenced the occurrence of many Fairyland-excursion stories. Since the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a popular belief that discipline to morally cultivate oneself and become a Taoist hermit would make not only king, noblemen and Taoist believers but also ordinary people as the Taoist hermit. In line with expansion of the Taoist culture to ordinary people, the status of Fairyland changed to a place where everybody could approach, like a famed mountain instead of a remote site like Kun lun Mountain and those living in the Fairyland were envisaged as normal people living in the reality. Thus, Zhi-guai Novels in Wei-Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties, which were depicted variously in the form of `Entry into Fairyland - life at Fairyland - return to the earthly life`, could have reflected all of the social trends and people`s mentality at the time. Utopia can be said as a literary expression of people`s aspiration and perception of ideal space, and Zhi-guai Novels then continued to represent people`s aspiration and wishes using space called Fairyland and so its artistic accomplishment might be high.

Preliminary Study for Future Model for Inclusive Special Physical Education

Vol.11 No.2

The Education for children with disabilities in Korea has been developed toward inclusion in its quantity and quality. However without full understanding of unique social and contextural needs on inclusion in U.S.A which has influenced on Korean special education, unconditional and superficial acceptance of inclusion will prohibit the development of inclusion in Korea, which has traditional characteristics and own needs. It is meaningful to investigate the history and the characteristics of inclusion from Dunn's mainstreaming to Skrtic's full inclusion initiated by Will's REI in U.S.A With intensive investigation of the history and definition of inclusion in U.S.A, characteristics of inclusion were discussed. It is strongly suggested that inclusion model should be focused on the children with disabilities served, not on the policy, and gradual progress based on strong and advantageous points that our special education already have.
