Indoor radon concentration was measured in consideration of local characteristics. It was measured in 50 points within Suwon area for different housing types and compared to the values measured in Korea and elsewhere in the past. In terms of the radon concentration for different housing types in Suwon, it turned out to be the highest in ordinary houses at 1.02pCi/L. In comparison with radon concentration measured in other countries, the gap was significant with the value measured in the U.S. but the radon concentration in Suwon was relatively similar to that of China. As the value measured this time revealed a similar tendency to historical data in Korea, radon concentration in Suwon was not higher than in other parts of Korea. Lastly, the average radon concentration in Suwon area was 0.6pCi/L, which was lower than the thresholds prescribed in environmental standards governing radon gas in Korea and other countries.

In the particular case of national PWR nuclear power plant, the overhaul task which takes place annually not only has the purpose of nuclear fuel shift, but also has the great responsibility of inspecting equipments, maintaining and repairing the machine, which is in close connection of safety operation of the machine. Especially, annual mean dose limit 20 mSv excess in the management of an occupational radiation dose usually occurs in repair works directly involving with a capacity improvement of a plant. Thus this study analyzed an exposure trend about works inducing ORE(Occupational Radiation Exposure), which is based on the data of the radiation survey during the Young-Kwang nuclear power plant unit 1 14th overhaul task. After dividing them in to 4 main, and 21 detailed works, maximum radiation dose rate, maximum area radiation dose rate, minimum area radiation dose rate and average exposure dose are rated by the statistics program called SPSS.

It was measured that gross activities of beta and gamma in airborne dust, fallout precipitation and tapwater which are main substances of the radiological contamination pathway. The survey collected the environmental samples such as soil, drinking water, indicator plant (mugwort, pine-needle), agricultural and forest products, and processed food (tea) which wear analyzed for gamma nuclide. This makes data bases for evaluation of internal exposure and environmental contamination of radiation which win residents ’s confidence.

The purpose of this study was examine the relationship of meterological factors, including temperature, pressure and pressure difference, to indoor radon concentration in a bid to set up an equation to predict indoor radon concentration. When their relationship was analyzed, it's found that temperature exerted the greatest influence on the change in radon concentration. There appeared positive correlation between the two. But the radon concentration was negatively correlated to indoor pressure or pressure difference. An equation for radon concentration prediction was established in consideration of these results. It' attempted to substitute temperature, pressure and pressure difference for the equation to find out how much radon existed, and then no significant discrepancy was detected between the predicted concentration and actually gauged one. This finding suggested that in case indoor temperature rises, radon concentration could be reduced in the same space by lowering it through ventilation. In addition, information on temperature, pressure and pressure difference would be enough to predict average radon concentration left in a specific space, without actually measuring it.
LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si TL소자의 에너지 및 선량의존성

LiF : Mg,Cu,Na,Si TL소자의 광자 에너지의존성은 X선 발생장치(20-118 keV)와 ^(137)Cs 조사장치를 이용하여 측정하였으며 ^(137)Cs에 대한 상대적 에너지 반응값으로 규격화했을 때 20 keV에서 0.844였다. 선량의존성은 10^(-4)Gy - 20Gy까지는 선형적이었으나 20Gy 이상에서는 sublinearity를 나타내었다. The photon energy response of LiF : Mg,Cu,Na,Si thermouminescence detector was measured using X-ray generator(20-118 keV) and ^(137)Cs irradator and its relative energy response appeared to be 0.844 for 20 keV photon normalized to that of ^(137)Cs photon. The dose response was linear within the range of 10^(-4)Gy - 20Gy, but showed sublinearity above 50Gy.

The present experiment on the measurement of total cross section for Gold and Indium has been performed with AGN―201 reactor. Neutron beam intensity is measured by the counting rate of detector. The total cross section of the sample can be measured by detecting transmission beam intensity through it, and then calculated using experimental equation.
