Gallol-assisted protein loading into premade hydrogel for long-term protein delivery

Tannic acid, a galloylated glucose, can bind reversibly to various polymers and biopolymers, such as protein and nucleic acids, via hydrogen bond and hydrophobic interaction. Herein we propose a simple, versatile, and efficient protein loading strategy into premade hydrogels using tannic acid. After immobilizing tannic acid on various premade hydrogels by simple incubation, green fluorescent protein as a model protein drug was loaded into tannic acid-coated hydrogels. Tannic acid-coated hydrogels showed higher protein loading efficiency and more sustained release of protein compared to bare hydrogels. The release rate can be controlled by the concentration of tannic acid. This novel platform for protein loading into premade hydrogels can be applied for delivery of protein therapeutics and development of cell culture matrix.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of load and speed of treadmill exercise impact on muscle activity and muscle strength. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The study was conducted for 12 female student from G University. Treadmill exercise was divided into four groups (ULS, LLS, UHS, LHS). Results: 1) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in ULS, UHS (p<0.05). 2) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in LLS, LHS (p<0.05). 3) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in ULS, LLS (p<0.05). 4) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in UHS, LHS (p<0.05). 5 There was significant difference in muscle strength in LHS (p<0.05). Conclusion: Exercising with high speed and load has more influence on the muscle activity and muscle strength of the lower extremities.
위암 환자에서 sevoflurane-remifentanil 균형마취와 propofolremifentanil 전정맥 마취가 수술 후 스트레스 반응에 미치는 영향

Background: The effects of anesthetics on postoperative stressresponse remains not fully understood. We evaluated the effectsof sevoflurane-remifentanil balanced anesthesia and propofolremifentaniltotal intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) on postoperativeinterleukin 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), cortisol, andlaboratory test values for patients with stomach cancer. Methods: Forty patients were randomly assigned to sevoflurane-remifentanil group (group S) and propofol-remifentanil group(group P). Anesthesia was maintained with balanced anesthesia(group S) or TIVA (group P). We measured the IL-6, TNF-α, cortisoland performed laboratory tests before (T1) and after surgery (T2). Results: Concentration of IL-6 and cortisol increased (group S:1.89 ± 1.69 pg/ml to 47.11 ± 44.37 pg/ml, 10.68 ± 4.89 pg/ml to14.93 ± 6.79 pg/ml, group P: 1.74 ± 1.60 pg/ml to 61.58 ± 48.65pg/ml, 9.96 ± 4.40 pg/ml to 14.27 ± 7.43 pg/ml, respectively) postoperativelyin both groups, but there were not different betweengroup S and group P. There were no differences of TNF-α betweenT1 and T2 in both groups. Changes of other laboratory values wereindifferent between groups. Conclusions: The effects of sevoflurane-remifentanil balancedanesthesia and propofol-remifentanil TIVA on postoperative stressresponses in patients with stomach cancer were not different. Further investigations are required to assess the effects of anestheticson other stress response profiles and such significances.

본 연구에서는 비데 제품에 사용되는 부품의 다양한 필드 고장 사례로부터 소재에 따른 고장분석 메커니즘을 도출한다. 고장 현상 확인은 외관/표면 분석을 진행하는 VM(Video Microscope), SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) 분석을 시작으로, 성분/물성 분석을 진행하는 FT-IR(Fourier Transform-infrared Spectroscopy), DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry), TGA(Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer), GC-MS(Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) 분석을 활용한다. 또한, 경우에 따라서 고분자 사출해석과 고분자 결합력을 확인하기 위한 ESR(Electron Spin Resonance Spectrometer) 분석도 추가적으로 검토하여 자세한 메커니즘 분석을 진행할 예정이다. 고장현상 확인을 바탕으로 소재에 따른 고장 메커니즘을 도출하고 재현 시험을 통해 확인 과정을 거치는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구를 통해 ABS, POM, Silicon, PPO 등 재질의 고장 메커니즘을 알 수 있으며 이와 관련된 품질 문제가 발생할 시에 신속한 원인 분석 및 필드 대응이 가능하다. 또한, 향후 사용 환경, 상대물의 재질, 용제 등을 고려하여 적합한 재질 선정을 위한 자료로도 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

A Comparative Study of Storytelling on Goodbye, Lenin and A Family with a Big Liver This paper aims to compare the storytelling of Goodbye, Lenin with A Family with a Big Liver. In doing so, it demonstrates how important the storytelling is on movies nowadays. Good bye, Lenin combines a social problem with a family-love through the harmony of content and form. It expresses inter-generational conflict and understanding of the former East Germany by Alex, the focalizer of the movie. Good bye, Lenin acquires artistry and popularity simultaneously because of the strong basis of storytelling. On the other hand, A Family with a Big Liver dilutes concerns about reunification with aesthetics of lightness. It focuses characters’ ridiculous behaviors instead of the focus of specific figures. The lack of harmony of the content and form on the movie separates the boundaries of comic and drama. It means that the storytelling on the movie is failure. Good bye, Lenin and A Family with a Big Liver show that the strong basis of storytelling on movies determine the harmony of the content and form.
