$TiO_2$ nanowires were grown by thermal oxidation of TiO powder in an oxygen and nitrogen gas environment at $1000^{\circ}C$. The ratio of $O_2$ to $N_2$ in an ambient gas was changed to investigate the effect of the gas ratio on the growth of $TiO_2$nanowires. The oxidation process was carried out at different $O_2$/$N_2$ ratios of 0/100, 25/75, 50/50 and 100/0. No nanowires were formed at $O_2$/$N_2$ ratios of less than 25/75. When the $O_2$/$N_2$ ratio was 50/50, nanowires started to form. As the gas ratio increased to 100/0, the diameter and length of the nanowires increased. The X-ray diffraction pattern showed that the nanowires were $TiO_2$ with a rutile crystallographic structure. In the XRD pattern, no peaks from the anatase and brookite structures of $TiO_2$were observed. The diameter of the nanowires decreased along the growth direction, and no catalytic particles were detected at the tips of the nanowires which suggests that the nanowires were grown with a vapor-solid growth mechanism.

건설업은 대표적인 인력의존형 산업이다. 그러나 생계에 직접적인 영향을 주는 임금지급 관련문제들로 인해 기존 기능인력의 이직 등 기능인력 유지에 문제가 발생하여 숙련된 기능인력이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 기존 기능인력의 이직 방지와 유지관리를 위해, 현행 임금지급제도를 개선하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 국내 무등록 시공팀을 대상으로 소규모 건설업체 등록을 의무화 하고, 무등록 알선업자를 통해 근로자를 고용하는 건설업체를 처벌할 수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 또한, 국내 제1금융권 은행에서 시행하는 PBA를 벤치마킹하여 대금지급시스템을 운영한다면 건설업의 임금체불을 방지하는데 효과적일 것으로 사료된다. Construction is a typical labor-dependent industry. However, problems related to wage payment, which directly affects the livelihood of workers, have caused other problems in maintaining skilled workers, such as increasing the turnover rate of skilled workers, resulting in a shortage of skilled workers. Against this backdrop, this study was conducted to develop measures to improve the conventional wage payment systems in order to prevent skilled workers from leaving their jobs and to maintain them as workers. It is necessary to make the registration of non-registered small-sized construction companies in Korea mandatory, and to introduce means by which construction companies that hire workers through non-registered agents can be penalized. In addition, the project bank account (PBA) system used in the domestic banking sector can be benchmarked in operating payment systems, an approach that is expected to effectively prevent delayed wage payments in the construction industry.
대기 분위기에서 ZnS의 산화에 의해 생성된 야구 배트 형상의 ZnO 결정과 음극선형광 특성

ZnO crystals with a baseball bat shape were synthesized without any catalysts through a simple thermal oxidation of ZnS powder in alumina crucible under air atmosphere. SEM images demonstrated that the bat structure was composed of two pieces of ZnO crystals, i.e hexagonal-shaped rod and inverted cone-shaped rod. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern revealed that the ZnO crystals had wurtzite hexagonal structure. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectrum showed that the ZnO was of high purity. A strong green emission peak at 510 nm was observed in cathodoluminescece spectrum.
Implementation and experiment of neural network controllers for intelligent control system education

This paper presents the implementation of an educational kit for intelligent system control education. Neural network control algorithms are presented and control hardware is embedded to control the inverted pendulum system. The RBF network and the MLP network are implemented and embedded on the DSP 2812 chip and other necessary functions are embedded on an FPGA chip. Experimental studies are conducted to compare performances of two neural control methods. The intelligent control educational kit(ICEK) is implemented with the inverted pendulum system whose movements of the cart is limited by space. Experimental results show that the neural controllers can manage to control both the angle and the position of the inverted pendulum systems within a limited distance. Performances of the RCT and the FEL control method are compared as well.

The force of a direct current (DC) electromagnetic pump used to transport liquid lithium was analyzed tooptimize its geometrical and electrical parameters by numerical simulation. In a heavy-ion accelerator,which is being developed in Korea, a liquid lithium film is utilized for its high charge-stripping efficiencyfor heavy ions of uranium. A DC electromagnetic pump with a flow rate of 6 cm3/s and a developedpressure of 1.5 MPa at a temperature of 200 C was required to circulate the liquid lithium to form liquidlithium films. The current and magnetic flux densities in the flow gap, where a Sm2Co17 permanentmagnet was used to generate a magnetic field, were analyzed for the electromagnetic force distributiongenerated in the pump. The pressure developed by the Lorentz force on the electromagnetic force wascalculated by considering the electromotive force and hydraulic pressure drop in the narrow flowchannel. The opposite force at the end part due to the magnetic flux density in the opposite directiondepended on the pump geometrical parameters such as the pump duct length and width that defines therectangular channels in the nonhomogeneous distributions of the current and magnetic fields.
