Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita is a very rare congenital vascular anomaly, characterized by vascular mottling of the skin, telangiectasia, hemangioma and skin atropy at birth. The mottling may be generalized or localized in distribution and tends to fade spontaneously with age. A case of CMCT occuring in a 5 months old girl shows localized, reticuhted mottling of the skin and telangiectasia from the left buttock to the leg and s!in atrophy on the left knee. There was no other anomaly except the finger-tip sized capillary hemangioma on the letf scapular area and no change in the course for 8 months.

Muju Resort Development environmental impact statement(EIS) in Mt. Teogyu National Park are evaluated with the results of post-environmental evaluation. Three EIA items (ecosystem, hydrology, landuse) are investigated. In terms of ecosystem and hydrology, the environment during construction period was compared with post-construction and it was also true of hydrology section. The land use surrounding the resort area have been changed seriously, and the wildlife in large patch are endangered with the fragmentation by road and resort construction. The three items in the Muju Resort EIS was not assessed properly. So, in order to assess properly accurate data, appropriate approach, and periodical post evaluation are required.

We analyze the current density – voltage (J – V) curve of a Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin-film solar cell measured at different irradiation power densities. For the solar-cell sample investigated in this study, the fill factor and power conversion efficiency decreased as the irradiation power density (IPD) increased in the range of 2 to 5 sun. Characteristic parameters of solar cell including the series resistance (rs), the shunt resistance (rsh), the photocurrent density (JL), the saturation current density (Js) of an ideal diode,and the coefficient (Cs) of the diode current due to electron-hole recombination via ionized traps at the p-n interface are determined from a theoretical fit to the experimental data of the J – V curve using a two-diode model. As IPD increased, both rs and rsh decreased, but Cs increased.
Self-Consistent Subband Calculations of AlGaN/GaN Single Heterojunctions

We present a self-consistent numerical method for calculating the conduction-band profile and subband structure of AlGaN/GaN single heterojunctions. The subband calculations take into account the piezoelectric and spontaneous polarization effect and the Hartree and exchange-correlation interaction. We calculate the dependence of electron sheet concentration and subband energies on various structural parameters, such as the width and Al mole fraction of AlGaN, the density of donor impurities in AlGaN, and the density of acceptor impurities in GaN, as well as the electron temperature. The electron sheet concentration was sensitively dependent on the Al mole fraction and width of the AlGaN layer and the doping density of donor impurities in the AlGaN. The calculated results of electron sheet concentration as a function of the Al mole fraction are in excellent agreement with some experimental data available in the literature.

Background and Objectives:Recent studies have demonstrated overexpression of cycloxygenase-2 (COX-2) in various can-cers including head and neck cancers. COX-2, an inducible enzyme which catalyzes the formation of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid, is expressed in some cancers. We investigated the anti-tumor effect of selective COX-2 inhibitor, Meloxicam, on Materials and Method:We inoculated the oral cavity cancer cell (KB cell) line subcutaneously into 30 athymic mice which were divided into 3 groups 1 wek after inoculation. One group received no treatment whereas two other groups received selective COX-2 inhibitor, Meloxicam, 10mg/kg and 40mg/kg three times wekly for 3 weks. We studied mean tumor volume, apoptotic index (TUNEL) and proliferative index (Ki 67) in the control and treated groups. Results:(p<0.01), and suppressed the xenografted tumor growth with significant diference (p<0.05) in the Meloxicam treated group. Al tumor expresed COX-2. Conclusion:This result suggested that the selective COX-2 inhibitors suppresed the growth of human oral cavity squamous carcinoma and a further study will be needed for determination of the pharmacologic pathway and eficacy of selective COX-2 inhibitor for head and neck cancers.
