        다음성적 구조와 소통의 거리 발견

        윤향기(Yoon Hyang-Ki) 한국비평문학회 2007 批評文學 Vol.- No.26

The first genre of human literature is a letter which is connecting a man to a man through a medium of words. 『Strange Love Letter』, an epistolary novel written by Da Eun Kim, expresses an old castle as a perfect place for people to meet and part from each other through which the author cries to montage manhood and womanhood. The novel showing the most advanced epistolary sense, on the other hand, is associated with 『Da Vinci Code』. Readers can feel chilled suspense and close rhythm of dialogic style which young generation more prefers. The reason why people can listen to foreign music for hours even if they don't know the language, is that its own rhythm is alive. Rhythm entertains people and makes them happy. Yes, the reason why articlesin newspaper are not exciting peopleis because there is no rhythm in them. The best strategy of writing is not repeating but finding rhythm. The novel 『Strange Love Letter』 is therefore very special on attracting readers' eyes via rhythm. This novel is a story about a spot where poisoning murders are continuously happening for centuries because of a fake letter that couldn't be delivered to the right person. The novel is quite readable as the author uses diverse literary styles and expresses different characters' contrasting thoughts and emotions quite sufficiently under the characteristic of the genre of letter. In particular, the best attraction is that this work can sense a delicate change of mentality incurred by exchanging mutual reflection between characters. A letter seems to be very limited as a format of a novel since it is a unilinear communication method between a sender and receiver. However, the author completes an epic drama by using diverse imaginations and expanding the relation networks. An unveiled letter is surely a letter but not a letter either. As the letter of countess Urgong that Daniel recited earlier, a letter becomes everyone's as soon as it is read by someone. This open letter read by people becomes a type of literature. In this era when ideology and taboo on sex disappearand old fashioned themes are not exciting people as a story of a novel any more, the novel 『Strange Love Letter』 boosting thrill and imagination must be a work that left footprints in our history of literature. It is certain that this novel 『Strange Love Letter』 becomes a cornerstone that settles an epistolary work down as a genre of literature into our history of literature.

        『딕테』에 나타난 디아스포라의 언어 고찰

        윤향기(Yoon hyang-ki),이경영(Lee Kyung-young) 한국비평문학회 2008 批評文學 Vol.- No.29

This paper is an analysis about Dictee written by Cha, Hak-Kyung, a Korean-American, who tried for works beyond genre focusing on matters of diaspora and language. Until he passed away at age of 31, he was a writer who solidly dealt with images, text relations, implication of women and bodies, and substance of diaspora by moving about most energetically in many sorts of medias such as books, films, videos, mail arcs, ad criticism, stamp arts, and performing arts. Dictee has some difference from existing books that we've seen so far. This book tells stories about shunned strangers, existence of minor races, experience of women, suffering as Japanese colony, longing of innocent love, and vivid self-awareness of himself, within a dispersed world that he starred from himself. She already expressed a multicultural ideal in which all the diversity can harmonize beyond the walls of races, religions, languages, and ideology. The root of multiculturalism is based on pluralism. In this paper, the author deeply scrutinized the non-existence and transcendence of time and space and their eternity. And he also accepted Cha Hak Kyung's mythological recognition as historical consciousness replaced by lives with wings and free flight. Kim, Kyum-Hyang expressed Dictee as voice of shaman or voice of The Princess Bari in Comparison Study of Mythologies Appeared in Dictee Written by Cha, Hak-Kyung and Comfort Woman Written by Nora Okja Keller. However, this paper places more weight on the image of 'Butterfly' of Chuang-tzu, that is, restoration or transcendence. In other words, it is seen that women independently in their own language of Diaspora speaks about women's identity, which is even further expanding to the voice that Koreans make toward the world. In particular, Dictee is an example that resurrects Diaspora's linguistic outsiders' view into even strong points. This paper analyses and talks about the identity of Diaspora on the work beyond genre or mixed one. Especially, this unusual success is due to author's excellence in artistic talent and study of diverse cultural theories. However, more originally speaking, this is just because the author was able to experience by himself his disruption and dismantlement through his unique antecedent and thus reform this into artistic works.

김조규 기행시에 나타난 디아스포라 여성들의 변모양상 고찰

        윤향기(Yoon Hyang-ki),이경영(Lee Kyung-yong) 한국비평문학회 2009 批評文學 Vol.- No.31

This paper is to look into the transformation of the diaspora, women, the social environment when Korean-Manchurians were drifting around after losing their home country, and the true nature of Korean-Manchurian's literature, via the tragic diaspora women's heterogeneous text and diaspora's writtings. For this, this paper analyzed 49 poems written between 1939 and 1944 including the travel poem in 『Kim joh Kyu's poem collection』 and 〈Biography of a boy P〉. As a Manchurian diaspora who has not been spotlighted until now, Kim Joh Kye pioneered a new territory of modem poem He focuses on agony of an elite who realizes and experiences Manchura's violence and introspect and transcend it. In particular, He reforms the tragic women depressed by historical prejudice into a colonial diasporatical human and maximizes it as self introspecting factors via focusing on 1) from innocent ideality or a girl, a longing for home country before getting polluted 2) from suffering youth or lady, wound of the lost home country 3) from missing woman or mother, an irresistible yearning 4) from disappeared home country or grand mother, the cruel reality of the home country. Through this text, he is able to show that the history, fiction, image, and language of diaspora are all crossing each other. Most of his travel poem witnesses the lost and disappeared home country and the reality in which he has to shout loud hugging a different country land on behalf of the women. In the early stage of his literature, the titles for 'sister' of a girl, a woman, a lady, Natatia, and so on show recognition of realistic contradiction. However, in his later Mantura travel poem, these titles changes to Anna, a prostitute, Hanako, Miss Chosun, Etranger's woman, mother, and grand mother. These names of diaspora women are nothing but reflection of the sad collapse of their home country. Based on those analysis, this paper pays attention to the fact that the awareness shown up through Kim Joh Kyu's literature specifically delivered an original research on diaspora races and Korean-Manturians' routine lives as a particular lost emotion which couldn't connect to the times. This is a poetic self so called an inner man's anima that is corresponding to history by learning human's lives and recognizing the time era via literatures, and also recognized as a historical subject which is expressed by his unconscious feminine factors.
