Teratogenic Effects of Nano- and Micro-sized Particles of Zinc Oxide during Mouse Organogenesis

Zinc oxide nanoparticles (nZnO) are used in a various range including ceramic manufacture, photocatalysis, UV filters, and food industry. However, very little is known about effects of micro- and nano-particle during mouse embryo organogenesis. To determine whether ZnO affects size-dependent anomalies during embryonic organogenesis, mouse embryos were cultured for 2 days with 300 ug/ml micro ZnO (mZnO; 80 ± 25 μm) and nZnO (< 100 nm) and then the developmental changes were investigated, quantity of Zn by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry analysis, and expression patterns of various antioxidant enzymes in the embryos were investigated. Embryos exposed to mZnO or nZnO exhibited severe growth and development retardation. In the embryos exposed to mZnO and nZnO, yolk sac diameter, crown-rump length, and head length were significantly diminished. The morphological parameters including yolk sac circulation, allantois, flexion, heart, hindbrain, midbrain, forebrain, otic system, optic system, branchial bars, maxillary process, mandibular process, olfactory system, caudal neural tube, forelimb, hindlimb, and somites in mZnO and nZnO-treated groups were significantly decreased. Zn absorption of nZnO-treated group was significantly higher than that of mZnO-treated group. CuZn-SOD, Mn-SOD, cGPx and PHGPx mRNA levels were significantly decreased in ZnO-treated group. In addition, antioxidant enzymes mRNA expressions of nZnO group were siginificantly diminished less than those of the mZnO treated group. These findings indicate that 300 ug/ml ZnO showed abnormality and nZnO may have more severe effect than mZnO in developing embryos.

Objectives : This study was conducted to survey on the research trends of Pharmacopuncture in Korea. Methods : We searched Korean research database by using keyword 'Pharmacopuncture', 'Bee venom'. Korean research databases were Korean Studies Information Service System(KISS), Research Information Service System(RISS), National Digital Science Library(NDSL) and Korean Medicine Information System(OASIS). We classified articles identified by publish year, type of research and diseases. Results : We analyzed 533 studies. Clinical studies and non-clinical studies except literature studies were decreased from 2015. However, Literature studies had not shown particular change over the past decade. Pharmacopuncture treated disease was classified by Korean standard classification of disease(KCD), M-code (37.8%), G-code(18.4%) were frequently used. Conclusions : A variety of disease was treated by pharmacopuncture. It is necessary to increase the level of evidence of pharmacopuncture. through additional studies in the future.
멀티-기가비트 무선 통신을 위한 60GHz Wi-Fi 설계 및 구현

In spite of the notable advancements of millimeter wave communication technologies, the 60 GHz Wi-Fi is still not widespread yet, mainly due to the high limitation of coverage. Conventionally, it has been hardly possible to support a high data rate with fast beam adaptation while keeping atmospheric beamforming coverage. To solve these challenges in the 60 GHz communication system, holistic system designs are considered. we implemented an enhanced design LDPC decoder enabling 6.72 Gbps coded-throughput with minimal implementation loss, and our proposed phase-tracking algorithm guarantees 3.2 dB performance gain at 1 % PER in the case of 16 QAM modulation and LDPC code-rate 3/4. 밀리미터파 통신 기술의 주목할 만한 발전에도 불구하고, 60GHz Wi-Fi는 여전히 광범위한 적용 범위의 제한으로 인해 아직 널리 보급되지 않았다. 종래에는 높은 주파수에서 발생하는 신호 감쇄를 극복하기 위해 빔포밍 기술 도입이 필수적이지만 모든 방향으로의 빔 형성 범위를 유지하면서 빠른 빔 적응을 달성하기에는 어려움이 있었다. 또한 이와 동시에 멀티-기가비트의 높은 데이터 속도를 지원하는 것은 거의 불가능했다. 본 연구 에서는 60GHz 밀리미터파 통신 시스템에서 발생하는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 전체적인 시스템 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현 손실을 최소화하면서 6.72 Gbps 코딩 처리량을 가능하게 하는 향상된 설계 LDPC 디코더를 소개하며, 향상된 위상 추적 알고리즘은 16 QAM 변조 및 LDPC 코드 속도 3/4의 경우 1 % 패킷 에러율에서 3.2 dB 성능 이득을 보장하여 높은 주파수의 빔포밍을 수행하는 도중에도 높은 데이터 전송율을 달성할 수 있다.
중학생의 형제자매 괴롭힘 피해경험, 성격적 자기비난, 대처효능감과 또래괴롭힘 피해경험 간의 구조적 관계

This study examines the relationships among sibling bullying victimization (SBV), characterological self-blame (CSB), coping self-efficacy (CSE) and peer bullying victimization (PBV) in middle-school students to address how SBV develops into PBV. Self-reported data from 559 Korean middle school students aged 14 to 16 years were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results indicated that PBV directly predicted SBV, and the mediation effects of CSB and CSE were also significant. In other words, victimized experience with siblings increased the level of CSB, which in turn lowered CSE. Consequently, this raised the possibility of being victimized within peer groups. This study is noteworthy in that it is the first attempt to examine a concrete mechanism between PBV and SBV in Korea. Based on the findings, intervention strategies for PBV are discussed. 본 연구는 형제자매 괴롭힘 피해경험이 또래괴롭힘 피해경험으로 이어지는 기제를 밝히기 위해, 형제자매 괴롭힘 피해경험, 성격적 자기비난, 또래 공격성에 대한 대처효능감, 그리고 또래괴롭힘 피해경험 간의 구조적 관계를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울 및 경기도 소재 중학교 1-3 학년 559명의 자기보고식 설문자료를 분석하였다. 구조방정식 모형분석 결과, 형제자매 괴롭힘 피해경험은 또래괴롭힘 피해경험을 직접적으로 예측하였다. 또한, 형제자매 괴롭힘 피해경험은 성격적 자기비난과 대처효능감을 순차적으로 거쳐 또래괴롭힘 피해경험을 유의하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 형제자매 괴롭힘 피해경험이 또래괴롭힘 피해경험으로 이어지는 구체적인 기제를 밝힌 국내 첫 연구라는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 연구 결과를 토대로 또래괴롭힘 개입 방안을 제안하였다.
갱년기 여성 대상 한의약 중재요인의 국내 연구 동향분석

Objectives : This study was conducted to survey on the research trends of Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) intervention with woman menopausal symptoms in Korea. Method : We searched Korean research database by using keyword 'Menopause'. Korean research databases were Korean Studies Information Service System(KISS), Research Information Service System(RISS) and Korean Medicine Information System(OASIS). We classified articles identified by TKM treatments. Results : We analyzed 63 studies by classifying 4 interventions that consist of acupuncture treatment, herbal medicine, lifestyle modification, complex therapy. According to studies using acupuncture, Sameumgyo(三陰交, SP6) was the most treated. Soyosan(逍遙散) was most treated in herbal medicine studies, and massage was most used in lifestyle modification. Conclusion : A variety of treatment using TKM have been used for menopausal women. It is necessary to increase the level of evidence of TKM intervention through additional studies in the future.
