An attempt is made to predict the wear behavior of ion-nitrided metal, when wear arises from asperity interactions. The analysis demonstrates that wear mechanisms are not inconsistent with observed behavior, indicates and approaches to a better appreciation of the effects of such factors as nitrided layer formation and surface topographical features. It was found on ion-nitriding that penetration rate and case development are faster and wear properties of the final product are more improved than conventional gas and salt-bath methods of nitriding. 본 논문에서는 이온질화 처리강의 미끄름 마멸현상에 대하여 이론 및 실험적 으로 규명하고 종래의 질화법과 비교하였다. 또한 미끄럼 마멸을 나타내는 일반식 V/L=C*(P/H)를 이용하여 이온질화, 염욕질화 및 가스질화에서의 C 값을 구하였으며 여기에서 V는 마멸체적, L은 마멸길이, P는 마멸하중, H는 경도이며 C는 마멸상수이다.

Basically, the idea underlying most edge-detection technique is the computation of a local derivative operator used for edge detection in gray level image. This concept can be easily illustrated with the aid of object which shows an image of a simple light on a dark background. Using the gray level profile along a horizontal scan line of the image, the first and second derivatives of it were acquired. This study is to develop an automatic measuring system based on the digital image processing which can be applied to the real time measurement of he characteristics of the ultra-thin thickness. The experimental results indicate tat the developed automatic inspection can be applied in real situation.

In computer vision system of modern industry, precise measuring has of dfficulties because of measurement error due to distortion phenomenon. Among the difficulties, the distortion of edge is regraded as a dominent problem, which is caused by the blurred image. The blurred image appears when camera can not discriminate its precise focus. So, it is very important to decide focus of lens and to develop algorithm in order to correct distortion phenomenon. Thus, discrimination criteria obtained by image information of precise focus must be fixed in advance. The gray level histogram of image acquired from blurred edge tends to show a uniform distribution. Bimodal intensity histogram is related with condition of focus, and it is possible to find good condition of focus by using bimodal histogram of entropy.

The diagnosis and monitoring system of abnormal cutting condition is necessary to realize precision machining process and factory automation, which are final goal of metal cutting. In order to develop this system, the image processing technique has been investigated in machining process. In this paper, the measurement system of tool wear using computer vision is designed to detect the wear pattern by non-contact and direct method and get the realiable wear information about cutting tool. We measured the area of the side and front part of the diamond core drill which is used in 40 kHz ultrasonic vibration machine.
旋削에서 Al₂O₃및 TiN 被膜工具의 工具壽命에 對한 硏究

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the wear characteristics of two kinds of coated tools, i.e. TiN and Al₂O₃coated tools which are in wide use currently. Cross cutting tests were done to decide the number of cut which yields the redetermined of flank-wear 0.2mm under 3 sets of spindle speed and feed rate conditions. Using the results of cross cutting tests and tool life criteria 0.2mm exponents n, b and constant C′of tool life equation (VT?f?=C′) were obtained.
