        Mitochondrial Oxidative Phosphorylation Reserve Is Required for Hormone- and PPAR gamma Agonist-Induced Adipogenesis

        Adipocyte differentiation requires the coordinated activi-ties of several nuclear transcription factors. Recently, mitochondria biogenesis was reported to occur during adipocyte differentiation and following treatment with thiazolidinediones in vitro and in vivo. Crif1 is a transla-tional factor for mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and is im-portant for transcription of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) complex. To investigate the role of OXPHOS in adipogenesis, we analyzed adipocyte differentiation following disruption of Crif1 in vitro and in vivo. The adipose-specific Crif1 knockout mouse had a lower body weight and less fat mass than wild-type mice. Furthermore, adipocytes were smaller and had a dysplastic morphology in the adipose-specific Crif1 knockout mouse. 3T3-L1 adipocytes or adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) that lacked Crif1 expressed lower levels of mtDNA-encoded OXPHOS subunits, and adipocyte differentiation was disrupted. Rosiglitazone treatment did not induce adipogenesis or mitochondria biogenesis in Crif1 knockout ADSCs. These results show that mitochondrial OXPHOS and Crif1 are required for rosiglitazone- and hormone-induced adipogenesis.

      • 제품디자인의 조형형태론적 고찰 : 커피메이커를 중심으로

        The design should adapt itself to its new circumstances that continue to change and have to create the new conditions required by a man. It is the role and responsibility of design that establish new idea as a material object about the changing need of a man with the responsibilities for the culture and contribute to the human culture. The form of modeling in the product design, whatever use it may be, must be used for a man. The emphasis is primarily placed on a man from the design processing to the completed product of design. This means to change the invisible need of a man into a practical, aesthetic means as a visible form of material. This article positively analyzed the products of coffee maker in order to grope for their desirable forms after theoritically considered for the form of modeling. As a result of analysis, it was a big body which is ornamental rather than functional in the past, but increasingly, its structual form has changed into streamline or round form from a quadrangle, therefore increasing its sense of use and beauty. Its gribe and kettle were changed into soft curves from square styles. This design is made possible by developing its technology, and its style was developed by its simplification. As an object of analysis, the limits that coffee makers have that products lacked the manufacturings technologies except for a single function. Earlier products had the device to grind Won-du coffee into flour, but this device is removed to reduce the size of coffee pot, It is estimated as a merit of simplification but a function of the product is reduced. In this case, we have to buy another machine in order to grind the coffee into flour. Also, to exchange the filter whenever used is a problem to be settled. Technology, permanent or semipermanet, that can be used as a substitute for the filter mest be developed.

        국내 바이오산업의 지역별 분포특성과 혁신 활동 성과에 관한 연구: 수도권과 비수도권 지역을 중심으로

        The study empirically analyzed the differences in industry distribution and innovation activity performance in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas of Korea's bio companies, which are highlighted as future growth engines. The main innovation activities of the bio industry, which are focused on science and technology and expressed with high uncertainty, were analyzed, centering on human resources, technology cooperation, and investment promotion. As a result of the analysis, the biomedical industry in the metropolitan area was found to have a high proportion, and bio foods, bio-based chemicals, and energy industries in the non-metropolitan area, respectively. Moreover, the innovation activity performances differed between the two regions. In particular, the notable characteristics included human resources, investment promotion, and technical cooperation with medical institutions in the metropolitan area with a high proportion of biomedical industries, and technology personnel exchange and cooperation with private research institutions in the non-metropolitan area, which has a high proportion of bio foods, bio-based chemicals, and energy industries. This study is significant in that it is the first study to compare and analyze the performance of innovative activities based on the distribution of industries in the bio-industry, focusing on human resources, technology cooperation, and investment promotion. In addition, after investigating the distribution status and competitiveness of the domestic bio-industry by region, it will analyze the status and characteristics of the domestic bio-industry and present policy implications to implement relevant promotion policy more efficiently.

      • 용융탄산염 연료전지의 CFD를 이용한 수치모사

        The gas channels of the molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) have been studied numerically. Distributions of pressure and gas compositions in the anode and the cathode gas channels were observed. The rate constant of the electrochemical reaction was deduced with the value of hydrogen usage. Calculations were made at the different values of the reaction rate constant and also at different sizes of gas channels. The commercial fluid dynamics program, Phoenics, was used. When the volumetric velocity is constant and the height of gas channel is changed, the changes of the CO2 concentration are big when the height of gas channel is thick. When the volumetric velocity is constant and the rates of generation and consumption are multiplied by 0.5, 1 and 2, the changes of the CO2 concentration are big when the rate of generation and consumption is big. On the other hand, when the linear velocity is constant, the changes of the CO2 concentration are big when the height of gas channel is thin.

        This article has argued in favor of eliminating the control module from the grammar. In place of subtheories specially designed to account for the distribution and interpretation of PRO, the present proposal has relied on movement to account for OC and on pro to account for NOC. The price paid for thus eliminating the PRO module has been to remove the last residues of D-Structure from the grammar and to dispense with the assumption that expression(or chains they head) are restricted to a single θ-role. Both departures from orthodoxy are required to permit movement from one θ-position to another-the minimum required if OC is to be analyzed as movement. Technically, this has also required treating θ-roles as features on predicates and θ-role assignment as a species of feature checking.

        신규간호사의 수면장애 영향 요인: 수면위생과 신체적 활동을 중심으로 - 2차자료 종단적 연구

        Purpose: The aim of this study was to longitudinally compare novice nurses’ sleep disturbance, sleep hygiene, and physical activity and analyze factors affecting sleep disturbance. Methods: Data were obtained from three follow-up surveys of 178 novice nurses. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 to calculate descriptive statistics. A repeated measures ANOVA and Cochran’s Q test were performed, and a logistic regression analysis was conducted using generalized estimation equations. Results: The sleep disturbance rate increased significantly over time in the following order: before the start of shift work, after six months of shift work, and after 18 months of shift work (T=98.67, p<.001). Sleep hygiene significantly deteriorated over time after the start of shift work (F=127.95, p<.001). Arousal behavior (OR=10.34, p<.001) and the sleep environment (OR=1.54, p=.005) in sleep hygiene, significantly influenced sleep disturbance. Stretching exercises were an influencing factor in sleep disturbance (OR=1.71, p=.039). Conclusion: Sleep disturbance among novice nurses increased after the start of shift work. Sleep hygiene and stretching were influencing factors. Therefore, to prevent and reduce sleep disturbance in novice nurses, efforts are needed to improve sleep hygiene and promote stretching exercises. 연구목적: 본 연구는 신규간호사의 수면장애 및 수면위생, 신체적 활동에 대해 종단적으로 비교하고, 수면장애 영향 요인을 분석하는 2차자료 조사연구이다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 수도권 소재 대학병원에 근무하는 신규간호사 178명을 대상으로 1년 6개월간 추적 조사한 자료를 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0을 활용하여 기술통계, 반복측정 분산분석, Cochran’s Q test, 일반화추정방정식을 통한 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 신규간호사의 수면장애 비율은 교대근무 시작 전, 교대근무 6개월, 18개월 순으로 시간에 따라 유의하게 증가하였다(T=98.67, p<.001). 신규간호사의 수면위생은 교대근무 시작 전, 교대근무 6개월, 18개월 순으로 시간에 따라 유의하게 악화되었으며(F=127.95, p<.001), 각성관련 행동(OR=10.34, p<.001) 및 수면환경(OR=1.54, p=.005) 수면위생이 수면장애의 유의한 영향 요인으로 나타났다. 또 다른 수면장애 영향요인으로는 유연성 운동이 확인되었다(OR=1.71, p=.039). 결론: 본 연구에서 신규간호사의 수면장애 비율 및 정도가 교대근무 시작 후 크게 증가하였으며, 그 이후 완화되지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 신규간호사의 수면장애의 유의한 영향요인은 수면위생과 유연성 운동으로 나타났다. 따라서 신규간호사의 수면장애를 예방하고 감소시키기 위해 수면위생 개선 및 유연성 운동의 실천을 위한 노력이 필요하다.

        질경이 추출물의 항산화 효과 및 각질세포 보호효과

        This study was carried out to investigate antioxidative effects of Plantago asiatica and protective effects on Human HaCaT keratinocyte. The extracts were prepared by ethanol extraction method. The antioxidant activities of extracts was used the method of DPPH radical, total phenolics and flavonoids contents. In our results, treatment with Plantago asiatica did not show cytotoxicity on HaCaT keratinocyte beneath the concentration of 20, 50 ㎍/㎖. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of the aerial part of Plantago asiatica showed a considerable IC50 value (170.4 ㎍/㎖) and it was higher than that of BHT standard oxidant. The contents of total phenolics (174.0 ㎍/㎖) and flavonoids (130.9 ㎍/㎖). Plantago asiatica showde protective effect against cell death of HaCaT cell induced by hydrogen peroxide, rotenone, paraquat significantly. These results suggested that Plantago asiatica may have antioxidantic action in human skin and also suggest the possibility as cosmetic material.

        관심 영역 추출과 영상 분할 지도를 이용한 딥러닝 기반의 이미지 검색 기술

        자율주행은 4차 산업의 핵심 기술로 차, 드론, 자동차, 로봇 등 다양한 곳에 응용 가능하다. 그 중 위치 추정 기술은 GPS, 센서, 지도 등을 활용하여, 객체나 사용자의 위치를 파악하는 기술로 자율주행을 구현하기 위한 핵심적인 기술 중 하나이다. GPS나 LIDAR 등의 센서를 이용하여 위치 추정이 가능하지만, 이는 매우 고가이고 무거운 장비를 탑재해야 하며 지하 혹은 터널 등 전파 방해가 있는 곳의 경우 정밀한 위치 추정이 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 보완하기 위해 저가의 비전 카메라로 획득한 컬러 영상을 입력으로 하여 관심 영역 추출 네트워크와 영상 분할 지도를 이용한 영상 검색 기술을 제안한다.
