Seasonal variation of Chaetognaths in the coastal waters off Kori, was studied. Samples were collected monthly during the period from March 1988 to February 1989 at 30 stations. Ten species belonging to three genera were identified: Sagitta crassa, S. nagae, S. enflata, S. minima, S. regularis, S. robusta, S. neglecta, S. ferox, Pterosagitta draco and Krohnitta pacifica. Mean abundance of chaetognaths changed monthly from 0 to 165 individuals m^-3. The predominant species varied with month; Sagitta crassa occurred abundantly from April to July, S. enflata from August to November and S. nagae occurred throughout the year except for March.

In this article, we present a brief explanation of simulation for magnetic confined fusion plasma. Devices for nuclear fusion experiment become large, complex, and expensive these days, so the simulation can be a valuable tool for understanding and expecting the fusion plasma physics. Research areas presented here are plasma equilibrium and instability, turbulence study, heating and current driving, boundary and divertor area plasma physics, and integrated operation scenario study. Traditionally, many foreign codes have been used because those are verified and stable, however our own MHD and gyrokinetic codes with better performance are under developing recently. While researchers have devoted their effort to make and use a simulation code in individual areas, many ones also endeavor to integrate the simulation codes in different areas for thorough understanding of fusion plasma physics.

우리나라 沿岸域의 富榮養化에 따라 多發現象을 나타내고 있는 赤潮의 發生機構를 구명하기 위한 基礎硏究의 일환으로 赤潮生物群集의 動態에 관한 硏究를 실시하였다. 硏究對象海域은 鎭海灣一帶를 택하였으며 1981年 8月부터 1982年 7月까지 每月 선정된 6개 정점에서 조사를 실시하였다. 全 調査期間을 통하여 總 29 種類(11屬, 28種및 1未同定種)의 赤潮原因生物이 出現하였으며 年間을 통하여 이들 群集의 大發生은 5月에서 10月사이에 반복되고 있으며 單一種에 의한 특징적인 發生의 類型을 보인다. 한편 現存量의 變動은 大發生의 기간을 제외한 나머지 시기에는 현저하게 감소되는 경향을 보인다. 또 群集의 安定度는 海域에 따라 다르나 多樣性指數는 大發生의 양상과 일치하는 결과를 보여 群集變動의 유효한 指標로 지목된다. As a part of redtide research a study on the population dynamics of redtide organisms in the coastal water has carried out during the period from August, 1981 to July, 1982 in the Jinhae Bay. Samples were collected monthly from 6 selected stations for biological analysis in surveyed area. As a results twenty nine taxa of redtide organisms were taken in this study. Standing crops varied extensively by months and stations, but it showed major blooming peaks from May to October. Community stability by means of diversity index indicates the eutrophication in coastal water and blooming seasons.
남극반도 주변 Ice Edge Zone 에서의 하계 모악류의 분포

To study the distribution of chaetognaths in Ice Edge Zone near the Antarctic Peninsula during austral summer, samples were collected at 35 stations between Bransfield Strait and northwestern Weddell Sea from December, 1993 to January, 1994. Chaetognaths were consisted of three species, Enkrohnia hamata, Sagitta gazellae and Sagitta marri. The abundance of chaetognaths was 0∼1,359ind./1000㎥ and high values were observed in the northwestern Weddell Sea. Eukrohnia hamata and Sagitta gazellae were distributed widely in Bransfield Strait and northwestern Weddell Sea. The abundance of Eukrohnia hamata was high in northwestern Weddell Sea but it was dramatically dropped in the Bransfield Strait. The abundance of Sagitta gazellae was high in Gerlache Strait and northwestern Weddell Sea and S. marri was very low and showed restricted distribution. The vertical distribution of chaetognaths were mainly confined to 150m and highest density were found in bottom water.

In the building structures, horizontal floor slabs can be classified as thin rectangular plates. Due to the restraint effect afforded by the edge beams, the plates(or slabs) are neither simply supported nor fixed along the edges. In other words, plates are partially fixed along the edges. The free vibration analysis for the fundamental frequencies of the partially fixed plates is performed by the finite element method. The parameters considered in the analysis are aspect ratio, λ and fixity factors, fx and fy along the edges, respectively. The changes of the frequency are represented by the second order algebraic equation of the above mentioned parameters. The frequencies estimated by the proposed algebraic equation coincide fairly well with those obtained by finite element analysis. The fundamental frequency of a slab can be determined through an on-site vibration test. Once the frequency is known, the fixity factors, fx and fy can estimated by using the proposed algebraic equation. The estimated fixity factors will help the structural engineers better assesment of the bearing capacity and serviceability of the slab.
