This search is about slurry wear of SM45C and SUS304, which using standard sand and KUM river sand. The results are as follows ; 1. Mass loss rates of both standard sand and KUM river sand were linearly increased as increasement of time and velocity. 2. The average diameter of sand from relatively, less were rate and portion of larger particles. 3. Wear resistance was linear with time and velocity of liquid jet regardless of type of sand. Also, it was able to evaluate with the formula, HV^2/E calibrated with n, the velocity index. 4. The wear surface in liquid jet experiment was smooth. The maximum wear depth was observed at the location, 2~4mm apart from the center in the condition of 90˚ of collision angle 6mm of nozzle diameter, and 20mm of collision distance. The sectional shape in radial appeared as 'W' shape.

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is the most common malignant salivary gland neoplasm. Its sclerosing morphologic variant, however, is an extremely rare entity. Only 15 cases have been reported in the English literature. We report a case of a sclerosing mucoepidermoid carcinoma in the left parotid gland with a review of literature. A fifty seven-year-old female patient presented with left parotid mass. Fine needle aspiration biopsy reported a parotid gland tumor, predominantly benign cystic condition, and the differential diagnosis included benign lymphoepithelial cyst and Warthin’ tumor. Left superficial parotidectomy was performed. Histologically, a well demarcated mass (2.2×1.5×1.0 cm) was composed of a central sclerosis with a few tumor nests and a peripheral lymphoid hyperplasia. The lumen of the tumor glands is filled with mucin stained with mucicarmine. Finally, it was diagnosed as sclerosing mucoepidermoid carcinoma.

The results of source location in terms of AE signal occurred by the spot exciting as suggested in this research, it has been confirmed that AE technique is quite fruitful in figuring out the location of the occurrence, form, size and direction of the defects. Thus, it is expected that the application of the experimental method suggested in this study would make it possible to identify, in the nondestructive way, the location of the defect in the material.

The amount of cargoes by cargo vessels has increased tremendously during the last decade due to the great growth of korea economy. But in spite of this trend, there is rarely the substantial analyzed on the operational status of coastal shipping. In this paper, the characteristics of seaborne cargo and traffic flow of coastal shipping surveyed in detail through the statistical and the origintain and destination (O.D) analysis. Also, the basic ship's tonnage of coastal shipping representing the minimum tonnage which is capable of carrying the given seaborne cargo is suggested through the computer simulation using the data of 1985 year. The results are as follows; 1) the about 80% of total coastal traffic volume is going in/out to the port of Incheon, Busan, Pohang, Samil, Bukpyung, Mukho, Samchuk, and Jeju. 2) The main cargo items such as oil, iron material, cement, anthracite grain, fertilizer, other ore are reached to the about 70% of total amount of coastal trade. 3) ship's tonnage going in/out to the port of Bukpyiung, Busan, Pohang is increasing linearly year by year, and the amount of oil, iron material, cement, anthracite, grain, fertilizer, other ore are also increasing in linear pattern. 4) As a result of simulation, the optimum (basic) ship's tonnage.
반복인장-압축하중을 받는 이온질화 처리한 SM45C의 부식피로 파괴거동에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 기계용 부품소재로 많이 사용되는 SM45C에 대하여 이온질화 처리시 N$_{2}$:H$_{2}$ 가스조성비 변화에 따른 효과가 반복인장-압축하중을 받는 부식피로파괴의 거동에 미치는 영향을 중점적으로 연구하였다. This paper dealt with the effect of the ratios N2 to H2 gas on the corrosion fatigue failure behavior of ion-nitrided SM45C steel specimens. The specimens were water cooled after ion-nitriding at 500.deg. C for 3hrs in 5 Torr, 0.8N$_{2}$ and 0.5N$_{2}$ atmospheres. As the nitrogen concentration increases, the higher compressive residual stresses developed in the surface layer and the depth of nitrided layer increased, which in turn gave rise to increases in fatigue strength and corrosion fatigue life. In the region less than 1.5 * 10$^{5}$ cycles, fatigue failure initiated at the brittle nitrided case, whereas in the region higher than 1.5 * 10$^{5}$ cycles crack initiated from the non-metallic inclusions in the subsurface. The initiation of corrosion fatigue failure was mainly attributed to pitting of case hardened surface layer.

Impact behavior of polycarbonate in various defect state was investigated using an instrumented impact tester. A method of analyzing raw impact data was developed and successfully demonstrated the impact behavior in terms of load-displacement and energy-displacement curves. This technique was shown to be capable of separating defect, no-defect initiated fractures as well as their propagation behaviors.

In this paper, stress aging effects of aging stress. aging temperature and aging time on the rotary bending fatigue fracture behavior for the SM45C were investigated. The stress aging treatment is a well known technology for the increment of elastic strength and yield strength without losing toughness in alloys by applying the external load under the conditions with the optimum values of stress. temperature and time. The optimal stress aging treatment conditions in these experiments are the stress of 3.38 MPa. the temperature of 300℃ and the time of 5 hours. The results show that the fatigue limit increased about 30.0% under rotary bending fatigue test.<br/>
