Vol.28 No.-

During the Japanese occupation period, researchers from Tokyo Imperial University and Kyoto Imperial University conducted archaeological research as part of the Joseon Historical Remains Survey Project. After the investigations, they submitted the excavated artifacts and glass plates to the Joseon Government-General Museum along with written statements. The field records, drawings, and printed photos of the investigations, on the other hand, were taken to Japan for the purpose of writing up excavation reports. After liberation, materials related to the Joseon Historical Remains Survey Project were separately housed at various institutions in Korea and Japan, acting as great obstacle to researching the results of the investigations that had taken place at the time. As part of the National Museum of Korea’s initiative to enhance public access to data obtained during the Period of Japanese Occupation, materials relating to the Joseon Historical Remains Survey Project in Japan, including Kyoto University, were introduced. As a result of reviewing the Korean and Japanese data together, new facts were revealed about the investigations of Geumgwanchong Tomb (Gŭmgwanch’ong Tomb) (Gyeongju), Hoehyeon-ri Shell Midden(Hoehyŏn-ri Shell Midden) (Gimhae), Dalseong(Dalsŏng) (Daegu), and Wolseong(Wŏlsŏng) (Gyeongju). In addition, it was pointed out that in order to reveal the overall nature of the photographs that had been taken at the time of investigation, it is necessary to compile together the dry glass plate data released by the National Museum of Korea and the printed photographs remaining in the Japanese institutions. In order to shed light on the reality of the Joseon Historical Remains Survey Project, it will be necessary to continue introducing related materials remaining in Japan and compile them with the data remaining in Korea. It is hoped that the data from both countries can be brought together online. In addition, in order to promote such a project, it will be necessary to introduce to the Japanese audience the results of the initiative to enhance public access to materials obtained during the Period of Japanese Occupation.

A Revised Proof of the Labor Theory of Value Based on Marginalist Principle

Vol.19 No.4

The labor theory of value is the very base to prove labor exploitation because only by its base we can compare capitalist exploitation with other types of exploitation in serfdom and slavery and claim that all exploitation have the same character as a labor exploitation. However, the labor theory of value was not proved mathematically. This is our remaining task, and the reason why this paper aims to modernize the labor theory of value by showing its reality mathematically in the machine-based production system after the industrial revolution. However, what is the meaning of the labor theory of value mathematically? This paper defines it as the proportionality between input labor and physical output. For example, if we input twice as large amounts of labor into a production process, we can produce twice as large amounts of products. Under this condition, we assume the linear production function, which is usually adopted by Marxian economics, including Okishio’s Fundamental Marxian Theorem to prove labor exploitation. Because this challenge was carried out first by Onishi (2019), this paper also follows it but also modifies it in the following two points: 1)correct technical misspecification, 2) transform “capital” from a flow variable to a stock. First, his paper explains the original set-up in Onishi (2019) and then modifies the two points above. Finally, we subtract some implications from this research.
