Tobacco cells were stained for peroxidases by exposing them to a mixture of p-phenylenediamine and H₂O₂. Peroxidase activities were mainly associated with nuclei, nucleoli, plasma membranes and cell walls. Starch gel electrophoresis of the protoplast extracts indicated that moderately migrating anionic isoperoxidase A₂ and fast migrating A₃, A₄ were secreted into cell walls and media. Only vacuole contained all four major cationic isoperoxidases C₁, C₂, C₃ and C₄. It was also learned that moderately migrating C₁ and C₂ were present in the nuclei extracts, whereas chloroplasts contained fast moving C₃ and C₄. Interestingly, very slow migrating anionic isoperoxidases A_a and A₁, which are also secretory peroxidases, were present on the protoplasts, nuclei, and chloroplasts.

Post-therapeutic whole body scan (RxWBS) after radioactive iodine (RAI) remnant ablation (RRA) is useful for detect recurrent or metastatic foci of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) after total thyroidectomy. However, there is rare possibility of false positive iodine uptake in WBS. Here, we report a case of a 72-year-old woman, who underwent RRA after total thyroidectomy due to follicular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma. There is an abnormal iodine uptake in RxWBS in pelvic cavity. Additional single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)-computed tomography (CT) imaging showed an intensive I-131 avid mass in left ovary. There was a multiple calcified mass in left ovary and enhancing wall thickening in left ureter with hydronephrosis in contrast enhanced CT. She underwent hysterectomy, oophorectomy, left ureterectomy and nephrectomy and diagnosed as mature cystic teratoma with thyroid tissues and ureter cancer. Struma ovarii should be considered if there was abnormal RAI uptake in pelvic cavity. I-131 SPECT-CT is useful for differential diagnosis of abnormal iodine uptakes in WBS.

담배 세포내의 peroxidase 분포를 세포화학적 방법으로 조사한 결과 효소의 활성이 주로 핵, 인, 원형질 막, 그리고 세포벽에 분포되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. Protoplast를 제조하여 녹말 겔 전기이동으로 확인한 결과 전기이동도가 비교적 빠른 anionic isoperoxidase $A_2$와 전기이동도가 아주 빠른 $A_3$ $A_4$가 protoplast 추출액에 존재하지 않고 세포벽으로 분비되었다. 핵, 엽록체, 액포 등을 분리하여 isoperoxidase pattern 을 조사한 결과 액포에만 모든 주요 cationic isoperoxidase들 $(C_1-C_4)$이 존재하였다. 그러나 핵에는 전기이동도가 비교적 느린 $C_1$ $C_2$가 확인되는 반면 엽록체에는 전기이동도가 빠른 $C_3$, $C_4$ 등이 관찰되었다. 한편, 전기이동도가 아주 느린 anionic isoperoxidase $A_a$, $A_1$은 세포밖으로 분비되는 isozyme 들이지만 protoplast, 핵, 엽록체 등에도 존재함을 알았다.
