In this paper, we checked the recent management trends and analysed new strategies of Japanese Big 3 shipping companies. The Japanese Big 3 showed the big presence in the world shipping market, and were exposed to the world shipping cycles on their income statements also. But, they are recovering rapidly their financial soundness and preparing for the future dissimilarly from Korean big shipping companies. From the analysis of their new management strategies, we discovered that Japanese Big 3 are seeking their future on LNG transport and marine resource business commonly. Furthermore, their conducts are changing to proactive and intensive for securing the fleet for the new strategies in their asset portfolio restructuring. Many of Korean shipping companies are busy to escape from the liquidity crisis recently, but we have to learn from the Japanese long term view on the market just after the foundation of financial security.

This study verifies the change in market conditions in the Korea–China and Korea–Japan car ferry routes. Variation in historical development has led to differences in the lifecycle stages of these two car ferry shipping markets. However, previous studies have focused on individual car ferry routes rather than offering a more general understanding of this market. Based on the foregoing, we investigate the international car ferry market conditions from/to Korean ports, assess the management performances of car ferry companies, analyze the lifecycle stages of each car ferry route, and offer insights into the future of these markets. We show that the competitive market conditions and demands of passengers and cargoes differ between these routes. As for the market stage, we conclude that the Korea–China route is entering a mature market, whereas the Korea–Japan route is entering a declining stage. 본 연구는 최근 10여 년간의 한중일 3국간의 무역량 증대 및 관광객 증가 현상과 함께, 한중 및 한일 카페리항로의 시장여건 변화를 고찰하고자 함이 목적이다. 한중 및 한일 카페리항로는 각각 상이한 발전 역사를 가져왔으며 상품·서비스의 라이프싸이클 이론에 있어서 시장여건이 상이하다. 기존 관련 연구들이 개별적인 항로를 대상으로 분절된 시각으로 카페리시장을 연구한 까닭으로, 우리나라 국제카페리 항로의 시장여건에 대한 보다 체계적이고 종합적인 이해가 부족하였다고 보인다. 이러한 배경에서 본 논문은 2000년 이후 2012년 사이의 한중 및 한일 카페리항로의 시장현황을 조사하고 카페리선사의 경영성과를 평가하였으며, 카페리항로별 시장여건 변화에 대한 통계적 분석을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 한중 및 한일 카페리항로의 시장 수명주기별 단계를 진단하고 향후 전망에 대하여 고찰하였다. 연구의 성과로는 카페리항로별로 화물 및 여객 수요의 향후 전망은 다소 상이하였으며, 전반적으로 성장둔화 및 침체가 예상되었고, 경쟁하는 수송수단간의 상관관계분석에서도 항로별 상이한 시장환경에 처한 것으로 분석되었다. 하지만 선사경영 성과분석에서 두 항로 환경은 성장성과 수익성이 나빠졌다는 점이 공통적이었다. 분석결과를 종합적으로 보면 한중항로는 성장기에서 성숙기 단계로 진입하고 한일항로는 성숙기 심화 중으로 판단되고, 각 항로는 상이한 시장여건에 대응할 발전전략을 구축함이 시급하다고 주장하였다.

해양 전문 디지털도서관 건립의 경제적 타당성에 관한 기초연구

본 연구는 해양 전문 디지털도서관 건립 타당성분석 연구의 일부로써 도서관 건립의 경제적 타당성에 대한 기초적인 결과를 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 목적을 위하여, 본 연구에서는 도서관 건립의 정책적 타당성, 수요분석 및 경제적 타당성 분석을 수행하였다. 경제성 분석에는 편익/비용 비율, 순현재가치, 내부수익률을 계산하여 경제성을 분석하였으며, 조건부 가치 추정법을 활용하여 편익을 추정하였다. 그 결과, 해양 전문 디지털도서관의 건립에 필요한 추가적인 세금에 대한 응답자의 지불의사 금액이 상대적으로 높으며, 경제적 타당성을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. As a part of the feasibility study of constructing the Maritime and Ocean Digital Library, we focused to examine the basic economic feasibility of the library in this study. In order to achieve the purpose, we analyzed related governmental policies, investigated the demand of the digital library, and tested the economic feasibility. As the tools of economic test, we calculated the size of benefit by Contingent Valuation Method, and estimated the Benefit/Cost Ratio, Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return. As the result, we could get an assessment of positive economic feasibility mainly from the quite high level of WTP for the Maritime and Ocean Digital Library.

지역의 어업정책 수요에 관한 연구 -부산지역의 연근해어업을 대상으로-

This paper examines the policy demands of regional fishery focusing on the off-shore fishery of Busan. Policies in harmony with the region are required more when regional competitiveness is emphasized for more regional economic vitality. Especially, Busan is not only the base of Korean deep sea fishery, but it has large share in off-shore fishery. However, the foundational sinking in fishery of Busan is serious and it exceeds more than the national average, thereby requiring urgent countermeasures. Based on the results of AHP analysis from a survey for off-shore fishermen and related experts, we derived the priority order in the regional off-shore fishery policies as follow. Firstly, branding regional fishery products turned out to be the most important task. Second priority task was supporting fuel expenses to the off-shore fishery in particular for the fishermen who go far away. Next, promotion and advertisement for the regional fishery products, development and diffusion of energy saving technologies, and efforts for fishery resource recovery were deduced as critical, common policies.
