        연구보문 : 벼 DUS-Test를 위한 표준품종 선정에 관한 국제연락시험

        This study was carried out to evaluate field performance of example rice varieties in multi-location for DUS-test. We are participating in the International Nursery Test for Selecting Example Varieties for Distinctness, Uniformity, and Stability Test(INEVDUST) as one of items in International Network for Genetic Evaluation of Rice(INGER) organized by IRRI. During 2007-2008, 56 example varieties were investigated based on UPOV Guidelines for 16 agronomic characters such as leaf anthocyanin coloration of auricles, time of heading, attitude of blade in flag leaf, density of pubescence of lemma, antocyanin coloration of apex in lemma, color of stigma, stem length, antocyanin coloration of nodes, distribution of awns in panicle, length of main axis in panicle, panicle attitude in relation to stem, attitude of branches in panicle, decorticated grain length, grain width, grain shape, grain color and grain aroma. Auricles of WC 1240 and IR 69682-132-1-1-2 were purple coloration and eight varieties like DV35, K 39-96-1-1-1-2 had smooth hull. Purple nodes in stem were observed in K39-96-1-1-1-2, DV 85 and WC 1240. The peak of heading days was between 111-120 days. Semi-uplight type in panicle attitude in relation to stem occupied 48% and semi-errect type in panicle attitude of branches was 61%. 56 example varieties were divided into six groups with parameters of 16 traits.

        만생종 총체사료용 벼 신품종 '목우'

        '목우'는 총체사료용 벼 품종을 육성할 목적으로 1999년 하계에 다산벼를 모본으로 하고 수원 431호와 IR71190-45-2-1을 교배한 $F_1$을 부본으로 삼원교배하여 계통육종법으로 전개 후 2009년 총체사료용 벼로 육성하였다. 주요 농업적 특성은 중부와 영남평야지 보통기 재배에서 출수기가 평균 9월 2일로 녹양보다 17일 늦은 만생종이고 벼 키 (간장)는 92 cm로 장간이며, 주당수수는 11개, 천립중은 21.7 g으로 녹양보다 가볍다. 만생종 품종으로 숙기가 늦기 때문에 생육후기 기상이 불량할 경우 출수가 지연될 수 있는 산간지, 냉수용출답 및 만식재배는 피하는 것이 좋으며 충분한 생육일수를 확보하는 것이 총체수량성을 높이고 충실한 종자를 생산하는데 유리하다. 또한 주당수수가 적기 때문에 $m^2$당 27주 이상 밀식재배가 필요하며 내비성이 있으므로 질소 시비량을 180 kg/ha 수준으로 유지하는 것이 유리하다. 재해저항성은 잎도열병, 흰잎마름병, 바이러스병에 복합저항성이나 목도열병과 벼멸구에는 약하다. 총체벼 품종으로서 사료가치는 조단백질 5.4%, 가소화양분총량 61.6%으로 양호한 편이나 녹양보다 낮은 경향이며 총체수량성은 건물기준으로 10 a당 평균 1,956 kg으로 녹양보다 38% 증수되는 경향을 보였다. 이 품종의 재배에 알맞은 지역은 중부평야, 영남평야지가 적합하며 후기 기상이 좋은 지역이 안전하다. 'Mogwoo', a new high yield and whole crop silage rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar, was developed by the rice breeding team of the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA, Suwon, Korea, from 1999 to 2009, and was released in 2010. It was derived in 1999 from a cross between Dasanbyeo, having a high yield, and Suweon431/IR71190-45-2-1. A promising line, SR25848-C99-1-2-1, selected by the pedigree breeding method, was designated the name of 'Suweon 519' in 2007. This cultivar has about 155 days of growth period from seeding to heading, and is tolerance to lodging, with erect pubescent leaves as well as a long and thick culm. This cultivar has the same number of tillers per hill and higher spikelet numbers per panicle compared to Nokyang. 'Mogwoo' has longer leaves compared with other Tongil-type varieties. This new variety is resistant to grain shattering, leaf blast, bacterial leaf blight, and small brown planthopper. The biomass yield of 'Mogwoo' was 1,956 kg/10a in a regional test over three years. The result shows that 'Mogwoo' is adaptable to central and south-east plain areas of Korea.

        복합내병성 가공밥 적성 벼 ‘미소미’의 농업적 특성

        The Misomi is a rice variety derived from a cross between ‘Sobi’ which has adaptability of low fertilizer cultivation and SR21110 (Ilpum/Jinbu19) by the rice breeding team at National Institute of Crop Science, RDA in 2013. The heading date of ‘Misomi’ is August 14 and six days later than check variety, ‘Hwaseong’. It has 83 cm of culm length and 121 spikelets per panicle. It showed weaker cold tolerance than that of ‘Hwaseong’ during exposed to cold stress. ‘Misomi’ showed resistance to blast disease, K1, K2 and K3 race of bacterial blight and stripe virus, but susceptibility to K3a race, other viruses and planthoppers. The milled rice of this variety exhibits translucent, clear non-glutinous endosperm and short grain shape. It has low protein content (6.2%) and similar amylose content (19.4%) to that of ‘Hwaseong’. ‘Misomi’ showed better palatability index of cooked rice than that of ‘Hwaseong’. Particulary, ‘Misomi’ showed excellent processing adaptability than ‘Chucheong’ and ‘Hwaseong’ on palatability index of cold and aseptic cooked rice. Its milled rice recovery rate is similar to those of ‘Hwaseong’. However, whole grain rate of milled rice is higher than that of ‘Hwaseong’. Misomi has 5.68 MT/ha of milled rice productivity in ordinary cultivation, which was 12% higher than that of ‘Hwaseong’. Misomi could be adaptable to the middle plain area and Midwest coast area in Korea (Grant No. 5635).

        만생 다수 복합내병성 총체사료용 벼 ‘중모1029’

        ‘Jungmo1029’, a late-maturing, high biomass and multiple disease resistant rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar, was developed for whole crop silage (WCS) use. It was derived from a cross between ‘Gillim collection1’ with high biomass and ‘Junam’ which has some of diseases resistant genes. This elite cultivar had about 127 days growth period from seeding to heading, 105 cm culm length, 11 panicles per hill, 163 spikelets per panicle and 1,000-grain weight of 21.5 g as brown rice. This WCS rice variety was weak to cold stresses similar to ‘Nokyang’ but was tolerant to lodging in the field. In addition, ‘Jungmo1029’ was resistant to leaf and neck blast, bacterial blight except race K3a and rice stripe virus but susceptible to brown planthopper. Its average dry matter yield for three years reached 17.1 MT/ha, 14% higher than that of ‘Nokyang’. This stay green cultivar had good quality for WCS with low acid detergent fiber and high total digestible nutrients similar to ‘Nokyang’. ‘Jungmo1029’ was suitable for cultivation in the central and southern plain area of the South Korean peninsula and required to harvest 15~30 days after heading to improve the digestibility of cattle (Registration No. 5104).

        수원 511호와 일품쌀의 항산화성분 및 70% 에탄올 추출물의 항산화활성

        2006년 새롭게 육성된 계통명 수원 511호 품종에 대한 이용가능성을 살펴보고자 항산화성분과 항산화활성을 측정하였다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 수원 511호에서 318.17 ㎍/g으로 나타나 일품쌀(222.16 ㎍/g)보다 높았으며, 총 플라보노이드 함량 또한 수원 511호에서 167.21 ㎍/g으로 나타나 일품쌀(100.89 ㎍/g)보다 높은 함량을 보였다. α- 및 γ-tocopherol의 함량은 수원 511호의 경우 0.14 및 1.17 ㎎/100 g을 나타낸 반면 일품은 각각 0.06 및 0.80 ㎎/100 g으로 수원 511호에서 높게 나타났으며, 총 tocopherol 함량 또한 수원 511호가 1.31 ㎎/100 g으로 일품(0.86 ㎎/100 g)에 비해 높았다. α-, γ- 및 δ-tocotrienol의 함량은 수원 511호의 경우 0.10, 0.43 및 0.02 ㎎/100 g을 나타냈으며, 일품은 각각 0.09, 0.43 및 0.03 ㎎/100 g으로 두 품종 간에 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 수원 511호 및 일품쌀의 γ-oryzanol 함량을 측정한 결과 각각 76.58 및 7.77 ㎍/g으로 수원 511호가 약 10배정도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 총 항산화력은 수원 511호와 일품쌀 70% 에탄올 추출물의 총 항산화력은 각각 16.00 및 9.73㎎ AA eq/g으로 나타났으며, 환원력은 5 ㎎/mL의 농도에서 수원 511호 및 일품쌀 모두 0.18을 나타내었고 20 ㎎/mL의 농도에서 각각 0.61 및 0.58을 나타내어 농도 의존적으로 증가하는 경향을 관찰할 수 있었으나 두 품종 간에 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 수원 511호의 DPPH radical, hydroxyl radical, superoxide radical 및 hydrogen peroxide 소거활성은 5 ㎎/mL의 농도에서 각각 42.00, 21.59, 23.27 및 17.13%로 나타났으며, 일품은 30.10, 22.37, 25.18 및 18.08%로 두 품종 간에 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 새롭게 육성된 수원 511호 쌀은 일품쌀에 비해 항산화성분이 더 많이 함유되어 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 항산화활성 또한 약간 높은 활성을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. To evaluate the potential of a new breed, Suweon-511, antioxidant components and antioxidant activities of the 70% ethanol extracts of Suweon-511 (SWE) and Ilpum (IPE) were measured. Total polyphenol and flavonoid contents were 318.17 and 167.21 ㎍/g for SWE, which were higher than that of IPE (222.16 and 100.89 ㎍/g). Both α- and γ-tocopherol contents were higher in SWE as well. The total tocopherol contents of SWE (1.31 ㎎/100 g) was higher than that of IPE (0.86 ㎎/100 g). The α-, γ- and δ-tocotrienol contents of SWE (0.10, 0.43, and 0.02 ㎎/100 g) that of IPE (0.09, 0.43, and 0.03 ㎎/100 g) showed little difference. For γ-oryzanol, Suweon-511, which contained 76.58 ㎍/g, contained ten times as much as Ilpum (7.77 ㎍/g). The total antioxidant activity of SWE and IPE were 16.00 and 9.73 ㎎ AA eq/g, respectively. For reducing power, at 5 ㎎/mL, both extracts were 0.18, but at 20 ㎎/mL, SWE showed 0.61 and that of IPE was 0.58. The DPPH radical, hydroxyl radical, superoxide radical and hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity of SWE were 42.00, 21.59, 23.27, and 17.13% at 5 ㎎/mL, and for IPE, they were 30.10, 22.37, 25.18, and 18.08%, respectively. These data, as well, did not show big difference between the two breeds. As indicated in the data above, the newly-bred Suweon-511 had higher content of antioxidant components compared to Ilpum, but similar or a little higher antioxidant activity.

        종실과 잎이 매끄러운 중만생 고 바이오매스 사료용 벼 ‘중모1038’

        ‘Jungmo1038 , a mid-late maturing, high dry matter yielding rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar with glabrous leaf and hull, was developed for whole crop silage (WCS) use. It was derived from a cross between ‘SR24592-HB2319’ with high biomass, smooth leaf and hull and good germinability in low temperature and new plant type (NPT), ‘IR73165-B-6-1-1‘ which had low tillering trait, large panicle, dark green leaf, thick and sturdy stem and vigorous root system. This cultivar had about 125 days growth period from seeding to heading, 99㎝ culm length, 20㎝ panicle length, 13 panicles per hill, 119 spikelets per panicle and 1,000-grain weight of 23.3 g as brown rice in central plain region, Suwon. This hairless WCS rice variety was weak to cold stresses similar to ‘Nokyang’ but was resistant to lodging in the field, strong to viviparous germination and good to low temperature germination. In addition, ‘Jungmo1038’ was resistant to leaf and neck blast but susceptible to bacterial blight, rice stripe virus and brown planthopper. Its average dry matter yield for three years reached 17.2 MT/ha, 21% higher than that of ‘Nokyang’. This glabrous cultivar had 6.6% crude protein and 62.4% total digestible nutrients a little low compared to ‘Nokyang’. In Korea peninsular, Jungmo1038 grows well in central and southern plain and is good to harvest between 15 to 30 days after heading to improve its feeding value and digestion rate of livestock(Grant No. 5634).

        고온조건에서 등숙이 양호하고 도열병에 강한 조생 고품질 벼 ‘중모1024’ 육성

        ‘Jungmo1024’ is a blast resistant early maturing rice cultivar with high temperature tolerance during grain filling stage. ‘Jungmo1024’ was derived from a sodium azide treatment on ‘Suweon472’, a high yielding japonica elite line which was latterly registered as ‘Namil’. Comparison with the agronomical traits of ‘Namil’, ‘Jungmo1024’ was uniquely characterized as the induced gained function due to the reduced culm length, increased tiller number, strong blast resistance and especially high temperature tolerance during grain filling stage. The high temperature tolerance of ‘Jungmo1024’ was supported by two years experiments by comparing the head rice ratio produced in ordinary paddy field and green house condition. The heading date of ‘Jungmo1024’ was July 29 in central plain area, which was 9 days earlier than that of ‘Hwaseong’. The milled rice yield performance of ‘Jungmo1024’ was about 4.98 MT/ha in local adaptability test for three years. ‘Jungmo1024’ had 69 cm in culm length, which was 15 cm shorter than that of ‘Hwaseong’, 20 cm in panicle length, 16 in tiller number, and 22.3g in 1,000 grain-weight of brown rice. ‘Jungmo1024’ exhibited strong rice blast resistance, but do not have any clear resistance gene sources against bacterial blight, viral diseases and insect fests. ‘Jungmo1024’, nevertheless, would be a useful rice cultivar could be used as a donor line for the breeding programs for developing southern plane adaptable early maturing rice cultivars with enhanced rice blast resistance, lodging tolerance, and especially high temperature tolerance during grain filling stage.

        찰벼 품종별 찰떡의 찰기 관련 전분 및 호화 특성

        This study was conducted to analyze the starch and pasting properties of fourteen glutinous rice varieties with different maturity, and we compared the textural characteristic difference in relation to stickiness of glutinous rice cake. The whiteness alues of grain appearance showed significantly differences in the order of early ˂ medium < mid-late maturing glutinous rice varieties. Early maturing glutinous rice varieties exhibited a little high tendency for crude protein content than that of other varieties. Mid-late glutinous rice varieties showed higher of short chain ratio of 6 to 12 in DP of amylopectin whereas, medium length chains of 13 to 24 were significantly low. According to Rapid Visco-Analyzer measurement glutinous rice flours and starches, peak time showed high negative correlation with short chains of 6 to 12 in DP. The hardness of mid-late maturing glutinous rice cake was distinctly lower than that of the other glutinous rice varieties. Furthermore, mid-late maturing glutinous rice varieties, Baegseolchal, Dongjinchal and Baekogchal tend to show lower and slower in hardness changes of rice cake during storage. The hardness changes of glutinous rice cake had positive correlation with the amylose content and peak time and negative correlation with short chains of 6 to 12 in DP of amylopectin, respectively.

        하이아미의 정조 및 현미 추출물의 in vitro 항산화 및 항암활성

        하이아미의 정조와 현미상태에 대해 일품벼를 대조구로 하여 항산화성분의 함량과 에탄올 추출물에 대한 in vitro 항산화활성 및 항암활성을 측정하였다. 하이아미의 정조 및 현미 추출물의 총 폴리페놀 함량은 각각 6.31 및 3.75 ㎎/g 으로 나타났으며, 일품은 각각 5.66 및 3.47 ㎎/g으로 나타나 하이아미가 약간 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 하이아미의 정조와 현미 추출물의 γ-oryzanol 함량은 각각 33.53 및 39.47 ㎎/100 g으로 나타났으며, 일품의 경우 각각 24.33 및 28.68 ㎎/100 g으로 나타나 일품에 비해 하이아미에서 높은 함량을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 하이아미와 일품벼 정조 및 현미의 70% 에탄올 추출물에 대한 DPPH radical, hydrogen peroxide, superoxide radical 및 hydroxyl radical 소거활성을 5 ㎎/㎖의 농도에서 측정한 결과 하이아미가 일품에 비해 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 정조 추출물이 현미 추출물보다 높은 radical 소거활성을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 70% 에탄올 추출물에 대한 in vitro 항암활성을 측정한 결과 정조 및 현미 추출물의 억제 활성은 용량 의존적으로 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 하이아미는 위암 및 유방암세포에 높은 활성을 보였으며, 일품은 대장암 및 간암세포에 대해 높은 활성을 보였다. To evaluate the antioxidant and antitumor potential of a newly bred rice, Hiami (Suweon-511), total polyphenol content, γ-oryzanol content, radical scavenging activities, and antitumor activities were measured (control: Ilpum). Total polyphenol contents were 6.31 and 3.75 ㎎/g for unhulled (UHR) and hulled rice (HR) of Hiami, which was higher than that of Ilpum (5.66 and 3.47 ㎎/g). The γ-oryzanol contents were 33.53 and 39.47 ㎎/100 g for UHR and HR of Hiami, which was higher than that of Ilpum (24.33 and 28.68 ㎎/100 g). DPPH radical, hydrogen peroxide, superoxide radical and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of 70% ethanol extracts of Hiami were higher compared to Ilpum, and UHR was higher than those of HR. Antitumor activities of the 70% ethanol extracts of Hiami and Ilpum were increased with a dose-dependent manner. The extracts of Hiami have higher activities of antitumor activities on gastric and breast cancer cell lines compared to other cancer cell lines, and Ilpum has higher activities of antitumor activities on colon and liver cancer cell lines.
