Valve train is one of important noise sources in idling engines. Valve train noise mostly comes from two different impacts. One is the impact between earn and tappet at the beginning of valve open period, which is an important source of Impulsive noise of valve trains. The other is the impact between valve and valve scat at the closing of the valve open period. If mechanical lash adjuster is used, it is very difficult to control the initial impact. In this paper, we designed various types of earn profiles. especially in opening ramp design, and investigated the effect of earn profiles on the magnitude of the initial impact. Effect of some earn design parameters on the impulsive noise are also observed

다수의 구치 상실과 편측성 가위교합을 갖는 환자의 보철 교정 협진 치료

This clinical report describes an orthodontic-prosthodontic interdisciplinary treatment for a patient with multiple missing teeth and unilateral scissors bite. A 47-year-old female presented with multiple missing posterior teeth, anterior large overjet, deep bite, and posterior scissors bite on the right premolar area. Periodontal therapy was performed and followed by orthodontic treatment. The maxillary anterior teeth were initially aligned, then two implants were placed for the left mandibular molars to increase occlusal vertical dimension. The scissors bite between the right maxillary and mandibular premolars were corrected using the miniscrews as an anchorage. Other implants were placed for the right maxillary and mandibular molars after the occlusal planes and occlusal relationship were harmonized. The patient adapted well to altered vertical dimension without any specific problems including peri-implant marginal bone loss. Interdisciplinary approach resolve the complex orthodontic-prosthodontic problems and concluded in successful results.
치열궁 부조화로 인한 불안정한 교합을 보이는 환자의 수복 증례

상하악 치열궁의 부조화는 3차원적인 교합의 문제를 일으키며 불안정한 교합접촉에 의해 교합평면의 붕괴와 다수의 치아 상실 및 저작기능의 감소가 발생할 수 있다. 치아 상실로 인한 구치부의 지지 상실과 상하악 치열궁의 부조화로 인한 불안정한 교합접촉 및 부적절한 전방유도를 갖는 경우, 교정치료를 동반한 보철치료를 통해 안정적인 교합접촉과 전방유도를 회복하고, 조화로운 교합관계로의 개선이 필요하다. 본 증례보고는 앞서 언급된 문제들이 복합적으로 나타난 환자를 치과보철과와 치과교정과의 협진을 통해 양호한 구강회복 결과를 얻었기에 이를 보고하고자 한다. Inter-dental arch discrepancy between maxilla and mandible could cause three dimensional occlusal problems, and collapse of occlusal plane, multiple teeth loss and decrease of masticatory efficiency could be observed in patient having unstable occlusal contact. Patient showing posterior bite collapse, unstable occlusal contact and improper anterior guidance should be treated to recover stable centric occlusion, occlusal contact, and anterior guidance in conjunction between prosthodontics and orthodontic treatment. This clinical report describes the favorable results of orthodontic and prosthodontics rehabilitation of patient with above mentioned problems.
