Background: Early recognition of deterioration events is crucial to improve clinical outcomes. For this purpose, we developed a deep-learning-based pediatric early-warning system (pDEWS) and aimed to validate its clinical performance. Methods: This is a retrospective multicenter cohort study including five tertiary-care academic children’s hospitals. All pediatric patients younger than 19 years admitted to the general ward from January 2019 to December 2019 were included. Using patient electronic medical records, we evaluated the clinical performance of the pDEWS for identifying deterioration events defined as in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) and unexpected general ward-to-pediatric intensive care unit transfer (UIT) within 24 hours before event occurrence. We also compared pDEWS performance to those of the modified pediatric early-warning score (PEWS) and prediction models using logistic regression (LR) and random forest (RF). Results: The study population consisted of 28,758 patients with 34 cases of IHCA and 291 cases of UIT. pDEWS showed better performance for predicting deterioration events with a larger area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, fewer false alarms, a lower mean alarm count per day, and a smaller number of cases needed to examine than the modified PEWS, LR, or RF models regardless of site, event occurrence time, age group, or sex. Conclusions: The pDEWS outperformed modified PEWS, LR, and RF models for early and accurate prediction of deterioration events regardless of clinical situation. This study demonstrated the potential of pDEWS as an efficient screening tool for efferent operation of rapid response teams.

Thermally activated delayed fluorescences (TADF) are attracting as a next-generation emitting materials with advantages such as 100% internal quantum efficiency and reduced material cost. TADFs are essential to increase the horizontal emitting dipole (HED) orientation in the host film for development of high-performance TADF-OLEDs. It has beem reported that high horizontally oriented emitters with respect to the substrate are preferred for OLED with the high external quantum efficiency (EQE) by reducing optical losses compared to high vertically oriented emitters. First of all, we introduced a measurement system that can accurately estimate the horizontal dipole ratio (HDR) of emitters. Using the measurement system, we evaluated the horizontal orientation of green and yellow TADFs doped 5 wt% in the host film. Given the values, we finally evaluated the maximum achievable EQEs of TADF-OLEDs and gave guidances on how to optimize the efficiency of TADF-OLEDs.

E39 프로젝트 그룹은 초기 세미나 및 타당성 검토 결과는 통하여 송내 피오르드 크로싱을 위해 제안된 몇 가지 대안들에 대해서 기술적으로 긍정적인 평가를 내리고 있다. 향후 개발 단계에서 이를 검증하기 위한 설계 및 검증 과정이 필요하다. 프로젝트 그룹은 세 가지 주요 대안에 집중하고 있다. 가장 가능성 있는 컨셉은 사장교 형식의 부유식 교량이며, 일반교 형식의 부유식 교량도 대안이 될 수 있다. 또한 부유식 터널구조는 아직 적용된 사례가 없으나 검증을 위한 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 이렇게 송내 피오르트 크로싱에 대한 대안은 아래 표 4와 같이 크게 3가지 컨셉으로 정리 할 수 있으며 향후 해결해야 할 많은 기술적인 과제들을 앉고 있다.

Experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of grafting different rootstocks on the growth yield and mineral element contents in leaves of Sumibaekdadagi Cucumber. Major results can be summarized as follows ; 1. Fresh fruit weight of Sumibaekdadagi cucumber was increased with the growing of grafted seedling to 'Heukzong' rootstock, However no significant yield increase was found among the plants grafted to other rootstocks as compared to the intact plants. 2. Total N and K contents were higher and Ca and Mg contents were lower in the leaves of 'Sumibaekdadagi' cucumbers as compared to those grafted to 'Heukzong' and 'Sintozwa' rootstocks.

본 연구에서는 기존의 액상화 평가방법과 국내의 지진규모(M=6.5)를 고려한 수정 상세예측법을 비교 분석하였다. 액상화 발생 가능성은 흙의 액상화 저항강도와 지진에 의해 토층내에 유발되는 전단응력을 비교하여 평가하였다. 지진에 의한 전단응력은 지진응답해석을 이용하여 산정하며 흙의 액상화 저항강도는 진동삼축시험결과를 이용하여 산정한다. 진동삼축시험은 상대밀도(50%, 60%, 70%)와 초기유효구속압(70kPa, 100kPa, 150kPa) 그리고 세립분함유량(10%, 20%, 30%)을 변화시키며 시료를 재성형하여 수행하였다. 기존의 액상화 평가방법과 수정 상세 예측법 결과를 비교해 볼 때, 수정 상세 예측법은 연약한 사질토지반$(FS \leq1.5)$에서 액상화 안전율을 기존 평가방법에 비하여 크게 산정하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 액상화 발생가능성 판정시, 진동삼축시험에 기초한 수정 상세 예측법을 이용하도록 제안하였다. 또한 국내 발생 지진규모 6.5를 고려한 수정 상세 예측법에서의 액상화가 발생할 수 있는 최대심도는 약 15m인 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to utilize conventional procedures for evaluation of liquefaction potential and to compare the results obtained by modified detailed method based on Korean earthquake magnitude (M=6.5). Liquefaction potential is assessed by comparing liquefaction strength of soil and cyclic shear stress generated in the soil layers during earthquakes. The cyclic shear stress is computed from the earthquake response analysis, and liquefaction strength of soil is evaluated by using results from cyclic triaxial tests. The cyclic triaxial tests are performed on many different conditions of sample ; relative densities(50%, 60%, and 70%), initial effective confining pressures (70kPa, 100kPa, and 150kPa), and fine contents(10%, 20%, and 30%). From the result of comparing the conventional procedure with the modified detailed method, it is found that the modified detailed method tends to evaluate larger safety factor against liquefaction in the weak sand site$(FS \leq1.5)$. Therefore in this case, it is suggested that liquefaction potential should be evaluated by using the modified detailed method based on cyclic triaxial tests. It is also found that in modified detailed method based on earthquake magnitude 6.5, critical depth where liquefaction can be generated is around 15m from the ground surface.

Being focused on the recent studies that the fatigue strength of resistance spot weldmentes can be improved by using ellipsoidal weld nuggets, the voltage and temperature distribution in resistance spot weldments were simulated for the various rectangular electrodes which had the different aspect ratio of the contact area. Because the electrode shape was not axi-symmetric, the solution domain for simulation should be three dimensional. A series of experiments were carred out to verify the analytically obtained temperature distribution in the weldment. From the calculational and experimental results, it could be revealed that the nugget took the form of ellipsoid, while both results showed a considerable discrepancy for the high aspect ratio.

Air gap control method using a conventional actuator for near field recording technology has been reported. Toachieve good performance in the air gap servo and further experiments, the assembling between OL and SIL is the critical procedure. A lens set with NA 1.45 at 405 nm has been assembled and tested by using a Twyman-Green interferometer. The tolerance of assembling is very tight and the designing and adjusting adjusting procedure must be carefully controlled.
