자궁경부도말에서 Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance(ASCUS)의 조직학적 및 세포학적인 추적 관찰

In 1988, The Bethesda System for reporting cervical and vaginal cytologic diagnoses was introduced and this was revised in 1991. The new diagnostic category "atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance(ASCUS)" introduced by The Bethesda System is an area of controversy about the diagnostic category, clinical significance and appropriate treatment. A retrospective 2 years and 9 months study(April, 1994-December, 1996) was performed to evaluate the significance of reporting ASCUS on cervical smears. Sixtyseven(1.17%) of 5,730 smears were diagnosed as ASCUS and 21 cases were followed by cervical biopsies and/or endocervical curettages in 4 cases(19%), and repeat cervical smears in 17 cases(81%). Tissue diagnoses were benign in 2 cases and squamous cell carcinoma in situ in 2 cases. Cytologic diagnosis of follow up smear were negative in 14 cases(82.4%) and persistent ASCUS in 3 cases(17.6%).

Sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma(SNUC) is a distinct, relatively rare neoplasm arising in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses composed of undifferentiated epithelial cells and clinically characterized by a fulminant course. We report a case of SNUC in a 56-year old man who have had bilateral neck masses since one month ago before coming to our hospital. The paranasal computed tomography showed soft mass density in the left maxillary sinus and the nasal cavity with bone destruction in the anterior medial and the inferior maxillary sinus wall. This mass was extruded into the left orbital wall. Biopsy of the nasal mass and fine needle aspiration(FNA) of the neck mass were done. FNA revealed medium-sized neoplastic cells forming clusters or individually dispersed. Nuclei were round to oval, slightly to moderately pleomorphic, and hyperchromatic. Chromatin was finely granular, but occasionally was coarsely granular. Nucleoli varied from large to inconspicuous and the cytoplasm was scanty.

As devices such as smartphones, tablet PC, and wearable devices have been miniaturized, the connectors that go into the devices are also designed to be very small. The connector combines the plug and the receptacle to transfer electricity. As devices are miniaturized, the contact shape is formed by partially thinning the thickness of the raw material of the terminal in order to lower the coupling height of the plug and receptacle. The product used in this study is a receptacle terminal used for 0.4mm pitch board to board connector among fine pitch connectors. When the material thickness is reduced by forging the receptacle terminal, the width change of the pin is checked. To reduce the thickness of the material by forging, pre-notching is applied in the first step, forging in the second step, and notching in the third step. After forming the width dimension of the pin to 0.28 mm in the pre-notching process, in the forging process, the material thickness 0.08 mm and 0.02 mm (25%) were forged and the thickness was changed to 0.06 mm and the width change amount of the pin was measured. The facility produced 10,000 pieces at 400 SPM using a Yamada Dobby (MXM-40L) press, and thirty pins were measured and the average value was shown. After forging by using C5210-H (HP) and NKT322-EH, which are frequently used in connectors, analyze the amount of change in each material. The effect of punching oil on forging is investigated by appling FM-200M, which is highly viscous, and FL-212, fast drying oil. This study aims to minimize mold modification by predicting the amount of material change after forging.

We previously reported that the novel isoflavone-free peptide mixture (black soybean peptide, BSP) had several beneficial effects like antiobesity and hypotriglyceridemic effect. However, there are no reports for BSP on anti-hypertensive activity. BSP induced heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) in HUVECs, thus investigated the HO-1-induced activity in HUVECs and the anti-hypertensive effects in SHR animal model. BSP significantly induced HO-1 expression both at transcriptional and protein levels in a time- and dose-dependent manner as measured by RT-PCR and Western blot analysis, respectively. These inductions were abolished by pretreatment of N-acetyl-cystein (NAC, 1~10 mM), but not by employing Tempol, a superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic (1~5 mM). As expected, enzymatic activity (~2 fold) determined by bilirubin formation assay and cGMP concentration (~6 fold) were significantly increased in BSP-treated cells. Based on the numerous evidences on the beneficial effects of HO-1 and our results, we investigated in vivo effects of BSP on the antihypertensive activity. The administration of BSP (1% in drinking water) significantly decreased mean blood pressure (BP) (from 218.6±6.99 to 190.0±3.42 mm Hg, p<0.01). This result indicates that BSP is strong inducer of HO-1 expression, which may be triggered by oxidative stress, and has anti-hypertensive activity.

This study is aimed to investigate the effects of normal and high concrete strength on structural behavior of RC beams strength under high temperature condition. Main test variables are th thickness of concrete cover and exposure time in addition to concrete strengths. Concrete strengths with 240kg/㎠ and 500 kg/㎠ are used. Total sixteen beams including four control beams are fabricated and tested under fire. Research results show the main variables of the test, concrete cover and exposure time to fire are much influenced on the structural behavior.
