        한국인의 PGM1 , PI , PLG 및 POX 다형현상

        Phenotypes and gene frequencies among 364 Koreans were studied for three serum protein polymorphisms (PLG, Pi with subtypes and POX) and one red cell enzyme polymorphism (PGM_1 with subtypes). Pi and PGM_1 subtyping was conducted by polyacrylamide gel IEF, PLG typing by immunofixation after IEF, and POX activity measurement by direct spectrophotometry. The allele frequencies obtained are as follows: Pi*M1=0.7665, M2=0.1690, M3=0.0577, P=0.0041, G=0.0014, V=0.0014; PLG*1=0.9835, 2=0.0027, A=0.0014, B=0.0124; PGM_1*a1=0.7060, a2=0.1580, a3=0.0948, a4=0.0330, 6=0.0014, 8=0.0069. The frequency distribution of POX activity in this study appears to show a unimodality, giving a mean activity of 221.01 U/1. The results are discussed in relation to earlier known estimates in Koreans and those obtained in other geographic populations.

        Fabrication of Porous Yttria-Stabilized Zirconias Controlled by Additives

        the porosity and shrinkage was designed. As a pore former, a potato starch was used. For the control of shrinkage, the oxidatio nof Al metal particles was used. For the sintering of the above powder mixtures, a partial sintering technique was used at 1300oCfor 10 min in air. Upon adding the additives, high open porosity above 53% and a low shrinkage level were obtained. As a result ,cracking and warping of the sintered body were deterred. This outcome most likely resulted from the compensation of sinteringshrinkage due to the volume expansion caused by oxidation of the Al metal particles during heat-treatment.

        알루미나 쌍결정에서 조성변화에 의한 Zigzag Migration

        The effect of grain boundary structure on zigzag migrtion has been studied. Five kinds of a(2110)-m(1010) diffusion couples with different twist angles by 30$^{\circ}$from a [0001] common direction of each plane were prepared. When chromia (Cr2O3) was added to the diffusion couples by a vapor phase, zigzag migration of the grain boundary occurred. The fraction of zigzag migration did not essentially vary with the twist angle, but the magnitude and migration distance of individual migrating segment varied. The variation of CIGM morphology thus appears to result from the change in grain boundary mobility due to microscopic deviation of grain boundary structure out of a macroscopic grain boundary orientation.

        알루미나와 실리케이트 액상간의 반응에 따른 $CaO{\cdot}6Al_2O_3$ 상의 성장 및 용해 거동

        알루미나 고상소결체와 $CaMgSiO_4$간의 반응에 따른 반응상들의 성장 및 용해 거동을 $1600^{\circ}C$에서 열처리 시간을 변화하여 고찰하였다. 열처리시 알루미나는 $CaMgSiO_4$ 액상에 용융되어 중간에 반응상인 $CaO{\cdot}6Al_2O_3$와 최종 반응상인 $CaMgSiO_4$ 스피넬 형성이 관찰되었다. 중간상인$CaO{\cdot}6Al_2O_3$ 결정은 성장 모양과 용해 모양이 뚜렷하게 구분되었다. Abstract The growth and dissolution behaviour of reaction phase was studied during dissolution reaction between sintered alumina and $CaMgSiO_4$ at $1600^{\circ}C$ for various times. The formation of $CaO{\cdot}6Al_2O_3$ an intermediate reaction phase, and $CaMgSiO_4$ spinel, the final reaction product were observed during dissolution reaction of alumina into $CaMgSiO_4$ liquid phase. The growth and dissolution shape of $CaO{\cdot}6Al_2O_3$, an intermediate phase, was quite different.

        Fracture Behavior of Alumina-Titania-Monazite Composites

        Fracture behavior was investigated in the Al2O3-TiO2(3 wt%)-LaPO4(25 wt%) composite ceramics. To improve the fracture toughness of alumina ceramics, TiO2 and LaPO4 as a second phase were introduced. The samples were made by conventional powder processing method. Green compacts were sintered at 1600oC for 2h in air. Fracture toughness was tested using indentation strength bending(ISB) method. From the bending test, enhanced fracture toughness was found in the composite, compared to the pure and TiO2-doped alumina. The main factor of the enhancement of fracture toughness seems to be attributed to the weak interphase role of the LaPO4 as a particulate type.

        The fantastically common use of FSS(HCHO. HSO2Na) in processing cofectionaries and sugars in this country, and the controversy regarding its use, led us to test its radiomimetic effects. Additionally, it is of general interest from the theoretical view point to compare the spectra of genetical changes induced by FSS with that induced by its parental compound, formaldehyde. The Oregon-R males of Oak Ridge strain which had been made free from the preexisting lethals in the X, 2nd and 3rd chromosomes were tauten within a two-hour hatching period, then were aged one day before treatment. These males were injected intraperitoneally with 0.0004ml of a sublethal concentration of FSS (0.06M) in a 0.5% NaCl saline solution with the help of an Agla Micro-meter syringe. The treated males were crossed with Ins y3p; Cy/Pm;D InCXF/Sb females one day after injection. This stock permits one to test simultaneously for lethals in the X, two major autosomes, as well as for translocations involving either the 2nd or 3rd chromosome or the Y and 2nd/or 3rd chromosome. The differential cell stage response was also investigated in the sex-linked lethal test by the 3-day brood technique over a 16-day test period. The rate of sex-linked lethals were 0.75% in 1095 tested sperms in brood A, 0.48% in 629 sperms in brood B, 0.47% in 638 sperms in brood C, 0.46% in 655 sperms in brood D, and 0.17% in 592 sperms in brood E. The spontaneous rate of sex-linked lethals in the Oregon-R stock was known to exceeds rarely 0.04%. The response pattern of developing germ cells to FSS is thus similar to that induced by the injected formaldehyde by Auerbach(1953) and Sobels (1956, 1963), although the absolute rates appear to be considerably low. The pronouncedly increased rate of lethals in the ma-ture sperms and the significant drop of lethal rate in the spermatogonia are particularly noticeable. The test for lethals expressed as mosaics in the F3 was also performed for late post-meiotic cells, and the ethal rates were 0.36% in 845 tested sperms and 0.64% in 776 sperms for brood A and brood B respectively. The frequencies of autosomal recessives tested in mature sperm were 2.3% in 174 sperms and 3.9% in 174 sperms for the 2nd and 3rd chromosome respectively. The control rates of lethal mutations were estimated to be 0.9% in 212 tested sperms for the 2nd chromosome and 1.4% in 212 sperms for the 3rd. When these control rates are considered, the induced rate of 1.4% is observes for the 2nd chromosome and 1.5% for the 3rd. When the comparisons are made using the present data for sexlinked and autosomal lethals, autosomal rates are approximately twice the comparable sex-linked rate, and this differnce corresponds to the cytological length of two types of chromosomes. There were no translocations recovered in 1154 mature sperms tested. These results indicate that FSS when injected into adult males is weakly mutagenic in Drosophila. With this cnsideration in mind, the common use of FSS in food processing may be thought to be genetically hazardous in man as well. The results also suggest that adequate utilization of FSS may be of interest at least to some extent in studies on the mutagenic action of formaldehyde, when the possible oxidation-reduction system between the sodium sulfinit part of FSS and hydrogen peroxide is considered.
