A complex system like ATM(Air Traffic Management) has safety problem emerging from complex interactions between systems. In complex systems, malfunctions of components are not the only causes of critical accidents. To resolve this problem many researchers have proposed new safety analysis models for complex systems. This research is a way of improving safety analysis model focusing on systems engineering design model for ATM.
Modelica를 이용한 헬기 로터 블레이드 동적해석 M&S 모델 개발

This paper describes modeling & simulation(M&S) model for dynamic analysis of helicopter rotor blades. Simulation model is developed using Dymola tool which implements the open source language - Modelica. Modelica is appropriate for developing multibody dynamic analysis model. To develop an M&S model efficiently, model based systems engineering(MBSE) is applied. Some diagrams such as requirement diagram, block definition diagram and sequence diagram etc. are drawn to capture the concept of M&S model. This activity is done utilizing the open source tool - Papyrus.

Large-scale Multi-disciplinary Systems(LMS) such as transportation, aerospace, defense etc. are complex systems in which there are many subsystems, interfaces, functions and demanding performance requirements. Because many contractors participate in the development, it is necessary to apply methods of sharing common objectives and communicating design status effectively among all of the stakeholders. The processes and methods of systems engineering which includes system requirement analysis; functional analysis; architecting; system analysis; interface control; and system specification development provide a success-oriented disciplined approach to the project. This paper shows not only the methodology and the results of model-based systems engineering to Automated Guided Transit(AGT) system as one of LMS systems, but also propose the extension of the model-based tool to help manage a project by linking WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), work organization, and PBS (Product Breakdown Structure). In performing the model-based functional analysis, the focus was on the operation concept of an example rail system at the top-level and the propulsion/braking function, a key function of the modern automated rail system. The model-based behavior analysis approach that applies a discrete-event simulation method facilitates the system functional definition and the test and verification activities. The first application of computer-aided tool, RDD-100, in the railway industry demonstrates the capability to model product design knowledge and decisions concerning key issues such as the rationale for architecting the top-level system. The model-based product design knowledge will be essential in integrating the follow-on life-cycle phase activities. production through operation and support, over the life of the AGT system. Additionally, when a new generation train system is required, the reuse of the model-based database can increase the system design productivity and effectiveness significantly.

About 20 years have passed since Systems Engineering(SE) was introduced in Korea. KCOSE(Korean Council On Systems Engineering) and KOSSE(The Korean Society of Systems Engineering) were established during that period and Korean SE community has increased quantitatively. But We can not answer "Yes!" for the questions "Did Korean SE community increase qualitatively? and How about SE education or training?" Many participants at SE lecture classes said that they were not able to understand SE concept. I analyzed current SE lecture materials and then proposed new model of SE concept lecture for SE novices. The new model consists of Vee diagram, life cycle model, PMTE paradigm, technical review, SE sample and definition of SE. I expect that the proposed model will contribute to upgrade a quality of domestic SE education.

Operational Concept Descriptions or Document(OCD) shall be developed to understand stakeholder's desire for to-be-delivered system. But there is little study on methodology of OCD generation and many developers do not understand importance of OCD in Korea. According to Nicole Roberts' industry(18 U.S. companies and organizations) survey, only 30% of system development projects had OCD, too. Researchers and developers have opposing views regarding the generation of an OCD. Many researchers believe that the development and use of operational concepts at the start of large projects is essential. Alternatively, developers may view the OCD as a burden to the development process rather than an enabler due to the extensive documentation requirement. In this paper a couple of OCD guidelines were investigated to clarify how to build a CONOPS effectively and what to include. Finally, OCD for rotorcraft based Personal Air Vehicle System(PAVS) was developed as a case study. In the future, a template for generating OCD appropriate to Korean environment could be proposed.

A model is developed for the calculation of sea surface generated ambient noise in the range dependent ocean environment. The sources are located in the horizontal plane all around and their depths are at the near-surface. The receiver array is located in the range dependent ocean waveguide. One-way coupled mode method is used to model the acoustic propagation between the sources and receiver in the range dependent waveguide, and the cross spectral density matrix of noise is derived. In simulation, noise intensity, beamforming result and coherence function are calculated from the cross spectral density matrix. These results are compared with those in the range independent environment. The modeling result shows the effect of the vertical directionality and asymmetry characteristics of the horizontal plane. 본 논문에서는 거리 종속환경에서 해수면에 의한 배경소음 모델링을 수행하였다. 모델링 환경에서 음원은해수면 근처에서 수평 방향의 전 영역에서 위치하고, 수신기 배열은 거리 종속환경의 해양 도파관 내에 위치하였다. 거리 종속환경에서의 소음원과 수신기 간의 음파전달은 연성모드법을 사용하여 계산되었으며, 이를 이용하여 수신기간 상호 스펙트럴 밀도행렬 식을 유도하였다. 계산된 상호 스펙트럴 밀도행렬은 소음 인텐시티, 빔형성 결과, 코히런스함수를 계산하는 데 사용되었으며, 그 결과를 거리 독립환경에서의 결과와 비교하였다. 이를 통해 해저면 특성에 의한수직 방향성과 거리 종속환경에 의한 수평면상의 비대칭성 특성이 모델링 결과에 반영됨을 확인하였다.
