In this paper, the research activates through a R&D program developing technologies for micro-factory systems for the next generation during 1st year of the 3rd phase, year-7. In this stage, based on the developed technologies and understanding fundamental principles for micro-factory systems during the previous phases of this project, the overall direction of the launched R&D programs is towards development of practical micro-factory systems such as artificial teeth implants and μ-actuators and micro-lens systems. In order to accomplish the designed goals of this R&D program, the research groups were re-organized into three research teams according to target researches. Key technologies for next generation micro-factory systems were selected to be developed, which are BT micro-factory for dental implants and customized abutments, IT micro-factories for micro lens module and electromechanical components for mobile devices and next generation components for micro-factory. Some selected results from the researches in this ongoing R&D program were briefly covered.

This presentation introduces ongoing the research activates for developing emerging technologies of micro-manufacturing system for high-tech products in IT/BT/ET areas. This project aimed to develop manufacturing system and applications by developing hybrid process with combination of multi-physical methods in nano-precision machine systems to overcome barriers of materials, precision and productivity. In this program, four main teams were organized. First team is focusing on key technologies and new components for nano-precision machine systems and components and novel hybrid processes and standardizations. A hybrid system using high energy, ultra short pulsed laser with ultrasonic vibration is being researched for machining of biomedical components. Third team is organized for developing multi-axis ultra-precision platform for hybrid machine system of EDM and grind for PCD tools. Forth topic is a hybrid machine of hard-turning process and grinding, and this system will be applied for various parts in automotive industries. In this paper, some selected results from the researches in this ongoing R&D program were briefly covered

This paper presents a multi sensor based interface technologies which monitor the real time status information of various equipment of shop floor to enable a prompt response to operational problems and data acquisition modules. To verify the applicability of the sensor based interface technologies and data acquisition modules, the status of turning and grinding machine during were monitored. The developed platform of supporting equipment will be improved the efficiency of various machine of shop floor and will be a powerful tool for embodying c-MES.
