        Environmental consciousness, Clothing consumption behaviorWith the rapid economic growth in the modern society, young consumers in their 10's and 20's have the most sensitive and active propensity to consume, and they are very important as the leading consumers in the future. The purpose of this study is to understand environmental consciousness of these young consumers and how it is performed according to their environment-friendly clothing consumption behavior. A questionnaire was conducted to the male and female consumers in their 10's and 20's who live in Seoul. Measures of environmental consciousness, clothing behavior and demographic variables were included in the survey. Factor analysis extracted two dimension of environmental consciousness: awareness and behavior. Respondents of this study were segmented into four groups based on their awareness and behavior of environmental consciousness. Significant differences were reported in terms of variables related to clothing purchase, usage and disposal behavior. Results of this study should be considered for merchandise planning and environmental education.
