Predicting Revenue Water Ratio using Multiple Linear Regression

Water leakage can be estimated by various methods. Revenue water (RW) ratio is a significant index of water loss management in Korea. Existing methods of forecasting the RW ratio rely on local factors such as residual pressure, pipe length, service life, and leakage occurrence rate in the region. Because of the use of these regional factors, models used for the prediction of RW ratio are complicated and cannot be used for other areas. In this study, four effective factors were used as geospatial information for 41 cities in S. Korea to predict the RW ratio using simple factors in a quantitative analysis. The model for determining the relationship between the RW ratio and the four factors were evaluated through a correlation analysis and a multiple regression analysis using a statistical software (R). The result found that the RW ratio was strongly influenced by the water pressure, which depends on the elevation difference and geographical feature. The parameters for analysis were selected through the use of a prediction model for the RW ratio that applied elevation distribution, slope distribution, pipe distribution and population. The adjusted coefficient of determination (adj R2) was found to be 0.639, indicating that the model used to predict the RW ratio was efficient. This model can be efficiently used as a tool to implement the water loss reduction project in S. Korea.

The purpose of this study was to develops the Sport Individualism-Collectivism Scale(SCIS) assessing collective tendency of Korean players, The SCIS was set to embody the idea of collective tendency in Korean athletes. It was composed or three factors, vertical/horizontal individualism and collectivism, The result of confirmatory factor analysis with a sample of 272 showed that the [tens of the SCIS were deleted to 3 factors 14 items, and the second order were proper for the SCIS. This study was carried out in the aspects of indigenous psychology, Korean psychology, and future researches need to address this aspects in a systematic way.

A free piston and free displacer(FPFD) Stirling cryocooler for cooling infrared and cryo-sensors is currently under development at KIMM(Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials). A Stirling cryocooler is relatively compact, reliable, commercially available, and uses helium as a working fluid. The FPFD stirling cryocooler consists of two compressor pistons driven by linear motors which makes pressure waves and a pneumatically driven displacer piston with regenerator. The FPFD Stirling cryocooler employs 1) the Stirling cycle for refrigeration, 2) linear for driving the cryocooler, 3) spring and gas support systems, and 4) fine gap for clearance seals. It is the most suitable design for a mechanical cryocooler utilized in night vision environment. In order to get optimum operating frequency, natural frequency of piston and displacer, optimum phase angle between piston and displacer, cooling capacity, performance tests of the Stirling cryocooler by the frequency characteristics were performed.

The purpose of this study is to reestablich, more systematically, a sports categorization in a directory-type search method as a method to search smoothly and efficiently for sports information on the Internet and to provide for a proper guide in the sports area in this age of the "Flood of Information". For this purpose, the top six domestic search sites have been analyzed. Although there are many other search sites, the sites that provide a directory search method were selected and others were excluded in this study. The categories wereclassified through data collection and then categorized into large, middle, and small subsections. The category for the sports area consists of a total of 27 large sections and each large section consists of middle and small subsections. Such a study will be the basis for providing information effectively and efficiently in the future to those who are interested in, and major in, sports.
분광계에 의한 Borosilicate계 글라스의 조성 및 온도의존성 평가

We investigated the particularity of temperature and composition changes in $xNa_2O{\cdot}(52.5-x)B_2O_3{\cdot}47.5SiO_2$ glasses by use of FT-IR, $^{11}B$ NMR, Raman spectrometer. From FT-IR and $^{11}B$ NMR spectrometer, we thought that tetrahedral boron, $BO_4$ units are created $N_4$ increasing tendency generated near $600^{\circ}C$. It's expected that composition ana heat treatment directly contributed to structural changes, this changes are following to $Na_2O$ increasing or decreasing. caused by $N_4\;and\;BO_4$ units are caused by relatively increasing or decreasing in the glasses' structure. Particularly, $BO_4$ units are converted to $BO_3$ units after $600^{\circ}C$ heat treatment for 50h in the composition of $x<18(R<0.5,\;R=Na_2O/B_2O_3\;mol\%)$. On the order hand, $BO_3$ units are converted to, $BO_4$ units after $600^{\circ}C$ heat treatment for 50h in the composition of $x{\geq}18\;(R>0.5)$. This particularity of composition and temperature dependence of structural changes are similarly represented by Raman analysis results.
