CBP7 Interferes with the Multicellular Development of Dictyostelium Cells by Inhibiting Chemoattractant-Mediated Cell Aggregation

Calcium ions are involved in the regulation of diverse cellular processes. Fourteen genes encoding calcium binding proteins have been identified in Dictyostelium. CBP7, one of the 14 CBPs, is composed of 169 amino acids and contains four EF-hand motifs. Here, we investigated the roles of CBP7 in the development and cell migration of Dictyostelium cells and found that high levels of CBP7 exerted a negative effect on cells aggregation during development, possibly by inhibiting chemoattractant-directed cell migration. While cells lack-ing CBP7 exhibited normal development and chemotaxis similar that of wild-type cells, CBP7 overexpressing cells completely lost their chemotactic abilities to move toward increasing cAMP concentrations. This resulted in inhibition of cellular aggregation, a process required for forming multicellular organisms during development. Low levels of cytosolic free calcium were observed in CBP7 overexpressing cells, which was likely the underlying cause of their lack of chemotaxis. Our results demonstrate that CBP7 plays an important role in cell spreading and cell-substrate adhesion. cbp7 null cells showed decreased cell size and cell-substrate adhesion. The present study contributes to further understanding the role of calcium signaling in regulation of cell migration and development.

The purpose of this study was to examine the activity of neuro-muscular facility by measuring the peak torque% BWR, average power% BWR, total work J BWR and endurance ratio of flextion and extention of muscle on trunk, Subjects were composed of 36 athletes of wrestling, taekwondo and judo. The 36 subjects were to 3 different groups by items. The experimental instruments were used by Cybex 770(cybex, division of lumax, N. Y., U. S), we measured the peak torque% BWR of flextion and extention at 30。/sec, 60。/sec, 90。/sec, 120。/sec, 150。/sec-4times. One-way ANOVA measure was used to evaluated. The 0.05 level of significant was as critical level for the study. The result obtained from this study were as follows. 1. The peak torque% BWR at 30。/sec, 60。/sec, 90。/sec, 120。/sec and 150。/sec in judo group was higher than other groups but there was no significantly difference(p<.05). 2. The average power% BWR at 30。/sec, 60。/sec, 90。/sec, 120。/sec and 150。/sec in judo and taekwondo groups were higher than wrestling group but there was no significantly difference(p<.05). 3. The total work J BWR at 30。/sec, 90。/sec, and 120。/sec in taekwondo group were higher than wrestling and judo groups but there was significantly difference(p<.05). 4. The total work J at 150。/sec in taekwondo group were higher than wrestling and judo groups but there was no significantly difference(p<.05).

천임계 $CO_2$ 시스템용 코일형 내부 열교환기의 열성능 해석

Transcritical$CO_2$ systems are under consideration for use as residential/mobile air conditioners. In these systems, an internal heat exchanger is usually adopted to improve both capacity and/or COP of the $CO_2$ system in lower operating pressure range of gas cooler. A program has been developed to analyse the performance of internal heat exchangers using the section-by-section method. The internal heat exchanger of coaxial configuration is first analyzed and fairly good agreements with the data are obtained, And then the internal heat exchanger of multiple circular coil configuration has been investigated. The results obtained from the parametric study provide the guidelines for the initial design and manufacturing concepts of the internal heat exchanger in transcritical $CO_2$ system. Further studies are necessary to develop the heat transfer correlations of carbon dioxide in the tubes to obtain more accurate results.

This article critically examines three discourses on the Neozapatistas struggle from the Neozapatista indigenous perspective: cyberwar, antineoliberalism and indigenous autonomy. First, the term ‘cyberwar’ contributed to attracting the global attention and to raising the enormous virtual support, which at the same time produced an adverse effect of misconceiving the real Neozapatistas struggle as a struggle in cyberspace. Second, the Neozapatistas banded together with anti-neoliberal movements to successfully establish international networks of support. It was considered a symbol of the anti-neoliberal resistance, but failed to deal with the land ownership issue that was the longcherished task of the Neozapatista indigenous. Finally, the Neozapatista autonomy, which was based on the indigenous “customs and traditions(usos y costumbres)”, in practice did not suggest an alternative modernity to the current system. 이 글의 목적은 신사파티스타 원주민의 관점에서 신사파티스타 투쟁에 관한 세 가지 담론을 비판적으로 고찰하는 데 있다. 첫째, 사이버전쟁이라는 담론은 신사파티스타에 대한 세계적관심을 불러일으키는 데 기여했다. 그러나 이 담론은 치아파스라는 현실의 공간에서 진행되는 신사파티스타 투쟁을 가상공간의 투쟁으로 오인하게 만드는 역기능이 있다. 둘째는 반신자유주의투쟁이라는 담론이다. 한때 신사파티스타는 반신자유주의 진영과 연대함으로써 국제적인 지지네트워크를 구축했으며, 이로써 반신자유주의 투쟁의 세계적인 상징으로 자리매김했다. 그러나신사파티스타 투쟁의 근본 목표는 반신자유주의가 아니라 토지 문제 해결이다. 이 문제는 신자유주의 이전부터 존재하던 고질적인 문제이며, 신자유주의가 퇴조한 지금도 미해결의 문제로 남아 있다. 셋째는 대안근대성이라는 담론이다. 그렇지만 신사파티스타의 자치는 원주민 공동체 전래의 습속규범의 제도화일 뿐, 대안근대성의 모색이라는 견해에도 불구하고, 원주민 공동체의 습속규범에 근거한 것으로, 아직까지는 현 체제에 대한 대안근대성의 모색과 거리가 있다.

The Relationship between Renal Function and Bone Marrow Density in Healthy Korean Women

Objectives: The relationship between renal function and bone mineral density (BMD) is controversial. We evaluated the relationship between markers of renal function and BMD in healthy Korean women. Methods: A total of 1,093 women who visited the health promotion center at Pusan National University hospital were included in the cross-sectional study. We divided the study population into two groups by BMD: osteopenia-osteoporosis and normal in the lumbar and femur regions, respectively. We compared the relationship between renal function and BMD using a logistic regression model and used SAS 9.3 (SAS Institute, Inc., Cary, NC, USA) for all statistical analysis. Results: Blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, and cystatin C (Cys-C) were correlated with BMD in both the normal and osteopenia-osteoporosis groups, and in logistic regression analysis, BUN and Cys-C were correlated with lumbar and femur BMD. However, after we adjusted for age, menopause, and body mass index, only creatinine showed a negative correlation with lumbar BMD, and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was related positively with femur BMD. Conclusions: Serum creatinine could be a marker for lumbar BMD and eGFR for femur BMD in Korean women without overt nephropathy. (J Menopausal Med 2017;23:96-101)

인천광역시 유통 엽경채류 농산물의 잔류농약 실태조사 및 위해성 평가

This study was conducted to monitor the residual pesticides on a total of 320 stalk and stem vegetables from January 2019 to December 2019 in the Incheon metropolitan area. Pesticide residues in samples were analyzed by the multi-residue method for 373 pesticides using GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-ECD, GC-NPD and HPLC-UVD. Risk assessment was also carried out based on the amount of stalk and stem vegetables consumed. The linearity correlation coefficient for the calibration curve was 0.9951 to 1.0000, LOD 0.002 to 0.022 mg/kg, LOQ 0.005 to 0.066 mg/kg and recovery was 82.0 to 108.0%. According to the monitoring of pesticides, 36 (11.3%) of 320 were detected with pesticide residues and 3 (0.9%) samples exceeded the maximum residual limit. The detection frequency for Chinese chives and Welsh onion was higher than that for other stalk and stem vegetables. The frequently detected pesticides were etofenprox, procymidone, fludioxonil, and pendimethalin. As a tool of risk assessment through the consumption of pesticide detectable agricultural products, the ratio of estimated daily intake (EDI) to acceptable daily intake (ADI) was calculated in the range of 0.0062-24.1423%. These results indicate that there is no particular health risk through consumption of commercial stalk and stem vegetables detected with pesticide residues.
