대한치과보철학회지에 게재된 논문의 통계적 오류: 국문논문과 영문논문의 비교

연구목적: 대한치과보철학회지에 사용된 통계적 방법의 통계적 오류현황을 파악하여 통계적 방법의 잘못된 활용으로 인한 치의학 연구논문에서의 문제를 검토하고, 또한 통계적 오류의 유형과 빈도를 파악하여 동일문제의 재발 방지 및 효율적 대처의 기회로 삼고자 함이다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 2000년부터 2006년까지의 대한치과보철학회지에 게재된 총 399편의 논문 중 통계적 방법이 사용된 292편의 논문을 조사했고, 이를 위해 1997년 국제의학학술지 편집위원회의 "생의학 학술지에 투고하는 원고의 통일양식의 통계학적 방법론에 관한 서술지침" 15개항을 기초로 하여 1) 통계 프로그램의 불명시, 2) 통계 방법의 부적절한 기술, 3) 통계용어의 오용 등으로 크게 3가지 범주로 구성된 점검표를 사용하여 통계적 방법의 종류 및 통계적 오류부분을 확인하고 이를 한글판과 영문판으로 비교해 보았다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 결과 및 결론: 1. 통계 프로그램 명시 오류는 한글판에선 54%가, 영문판에선 59%가 있었으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이진 않았다 (P = .66). 2. 통계 방법의 부적절한 기술에 관한 오류는 한글판에선 49%가, 영문판에선 33%가 있었으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이진 않았다 (P = .09). 3. 통계용어의 오용오류는 한글판에선 54%가, 영문판에선 24%가 있었으며 통계적으로도 유의한 차이가 있었다 (P = .01). 상기 결과로 볼 때 통계용어의 오용 오류 이외엔 통계적 유의성을 보이진 않아서 한글판과 영문판의 통계적 오류의 비율은 유사하게 나타난 걸로 추정되며, 전체적으로 대한치과보철학회지의 통계적 타당성은 다소 부족하게 나타났다. 따라서 향후 치의학 연구자는 통계적 방법을 기술하고 적용할 때 통계적 오류를 피하기 위해 주의를 기울여야 할 것이며, 아울러 치의학 논문에서의 통계학적 방법론에 대한 인식의 제고가 필요하다고 보인다. Statement of problem: The aim of dental research is to advance scientific knowledge and leads to improvement in the treatment and prevention of dental disease. Utilizing an effective research design and adequate statistical methods are essential procedures ensuring that the results of researches are based on evidences. A research should utilize proper statistical methods without statistical errors; Otherwise, it could adversely affect clinical practice and future research. Purpose: This study was made to investigate the statistical methods used in the Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics (JKAP) and then to assess them for the statistical errors. Material and methods: Among the total of 399 articles in the JKAP published from 2000 to 2006, 292 articles using statistics were reviewed. The validity of the statistical methods used in them were assessed using a checklist based on the guideline for statistical reporting in the uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. The checklist consisted of three categories of statistical errors: 1) Unspecified computer statistical packages, 2) Inadequate description of statistical methods, 3) Misuse of statistical terms. Then, the results were compared between the Korean version and the English version in the JKAP. Results: Among the 212 articles using statistics in the Korean version, 115 articles (54%) and among the 80 articles using statistics in the English version, 47 articles (59%) were shown to have unspecified computer statistical packages without statistically significant difference (P = .66). Likewise, 101 articles (48%) in the Korean version and 25 articles (31%) in the English version were shown to have the inadequate description of statistical methods without statistically significant difference (P = .09). However, 114 articles (54%) in the Korean version and 19 articles (24%) in the English version were shown to have the misuse of statistical terms with statistically significant difference (P = .01). Conclusion: Some of the articles in the JKAP had inadequate statistical validity, given the statistical errors identified in this assessment. Hence, dental researchers should be more careful when it comes to describing and applying statistical methods.

스크류 공기 압축기의 성능해석

This study aims at the optimal design of the screw rotor and its performance analysis. The optimal design of the screw rotor's shape has been performed theoretically. Also, the performance analysis technique of an oil-injected screw air compressor is developed. The effect of internal leakage, heat exchange between air and oil, and flow resistance at suction and discharge ports are included in the performance analysis. Some numerical examples of the volumetric efficiency and adiabatic efficiency for sample rotors are demonstrated for various lobe combination, rotor wrap angles and L/D ratios.

Extreme Sports의 시대적 배경과 사회적 가치

이 연구는 익스트림 스포츠의 시대적인 탄생배경과 특성을 파악하고 현대사회에 있어 익스트림 스포츠가 갖는 사회적 의의를 논의하고자 하였다. 익스트림 스포츠의 탄생은 후기산업사회의 탈 이성적이고 개성 및 창의성의 존중이라는 특성과 맞물려 이뤄지게 되었다. 또한 경제적 성장으로 인한 물질적 풍요와 여가시간의 증대라는 사회환경 변화 등도 익스트림 스포츠 탄생을 부추기게 하였다. 이러한 사회적 변화는 인간 개인의 자유로운 개성표출과 적극적 여가 욕구의 실현 등으로 이어져 젊은 층을 중심으로 한 대중화의 싹을 피웠다고 판단된다. 이렇게 탄생된 익스트림 스포츠는 항상 위험을 내재하고 있고 모험적이며 역동적인 특성을 지닌다. 또한 개성을 적극적으로 발현하는 창의성을 내포하면서 시대적 요구를 수용하고 있기도 하다. 익스트림 스포츠는 사회적으로 적응 기제와 안정 및 발전 기제를 내포하고 있다. 즉 사회적으로 성취의 가치 실현을 통해 사회적응 기제를 향상시키며 표출의 가치를 실현함으로써 사회안정 기제를 높이고, 도전의 가치를 실현함으로써 사회발전 기제를 향상시키고 있다. 이러한 가치의 실현은 익스트림 스포츠의 사회적 기여를 상승시키며 미래 사회의 중추적 놀이문화로 자리매김할 수 있게 할 것이다. This study is to explore the historical background of extreme sports and to grasp the social virtue of extreme sports in modern society. I drew the following conclusions regarding the social virtue and background of extreme sports. First, extreme sports are a cultural heritage of play image that displays symbolically the change of our society. The intrinsic traits of extreme sports are `uncertainty`, `high-risk elements`, `pain & perseverance`, `thrill`, and `immersion & fascination`. Second, the backgrounds of the times of extreme sports are `a traits of post-modern society`, `abundance by economic growth`, `increase of spare time`, and `change of social values`. Third, extreme sports play an important role in an adjustment mechanism, stability mechanism, and growth mechanism. Such mechanisms are the products of traits of extreme sports displayed in the above said statements.

정당 다양성에 따른 지방의회의 예산심의 차이 분석:

지방분권화를 위한 개헌 논의는 실질적인 지방분권화를 실현하기 위한 전제조건으로서 지방의회의 역할과 중요성에 대한 관심을 환기시키고 있다. 특히, 지역적 정당 편향성이 높은 국내 정치의 특수성은 지방분권화의 걸림돌로 작용될 수 있다는 우려도 제기된다. 본 연구는 의회 내 정당 다양성과 의회의 주요 역할인 예산심의 행태 간의 관계를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해, 정당 다양성이 상이한 경기도의회와 경상북도의회를 대상으로 선정하고, 두 의회의 2017년 예산결산특별위원회 의원들의 활동과 예산안을 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정당 구성이 다양한 의회에서 표면적으로 예산삭감을 요구하는 행태가 독점정당 구도의 의회에 비해 더 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 정당 다양성이 높은 의회(경기도의회)는 삭감기조의 예산심의에도 불구하고 계수조정과정에서는 증액이 이루어지며, 반대로 독점 구도의 의회(경상북도의회)에서는 예산심의와 계수조정 모두 관성적이고 형식적으로 이루어지는 경향이 있었다. 셋째, 위원회의 성격에 따라 의회의 예산심의 행태가 차이를 보인다. 넷째, 정당 구성은 의원의 성별 및 선수(選數) 다양성에도 영향을 미치며, 이러한 다양성에 따라 예산심의 행태도 달라진다. 이 외에도 본 연구는 지방의회 의원들의 예산 질의를 유형화함으로써 정당의 경쟁 정도에 따라 예산심의 행태가 달라짐을 확인하는 등 지방의회의 정치적 실정에 따라 실질적 예산심의를 구현하기 위한 함의를 제공하고 있다. The discussion of constitutional amendments for decentralization calls attention to the role and importance of the local council as a precondition for implementing decentralization. In particular, there is a concern that the specificity of Korean domestic politics, which is highly biased by the local political environment, may be a stumbling block to decentralization. This study examined how political diversity in local council affects budget examination, which is the main role of the council. For this purpose, the Gyeonggi and Gyeongbuk provinces, which have different political party diversities, were selected and analyzed the council members query behavior and actual budget changes. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the behaviors demanding cutbacks are higher in the divided council than those in the monopolistic council. Second, the council, which has high political diversity(Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly), increases the budget adjustment despite the cutback-oriented behavior. On the contrary, the monopolistic council(Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly), tended to be inert and formal in a budget adjustment. Third, the budget deliberation behaviors of the council are different by the nature of the committee. Fourth, the party composition also affects the sex and the electorate diversity, having the budget review behavior vary according to these diversities. In addition, this study provides an implication to implement the effective budget deliberation under the different political environment of the local council. For example, it assures that the budget deliberation behavior is changed by the degree of party competition by typifying the budget queries of the local council members.
