This paper describes a theoretical model developed for analyzing the heat transfer of automotive cooling systems. From the model, heat transfer rate of automotive cooling systems can be predicted, providing useful information at the early stages of the design and development. The aim of the study is to develop a simulation program for automotive cooling system analysis and a performance analysis program for analyzing heat exchanger. Heat release rate from combustion gas to coolant through cylinder wall in engine cylinder was analyzed by using a two zone combustion model. This paper studied how cooling condition would affect engine heat release rate and measured temperature distribution of coolant in water jacket.
자동차 냉각 시스템에 사용되는 thermostat 용 wax 의 제조 및 분석에 관한 연구

자동차 엔진용 thermostat에서 냉각수 온도제어를 위해 사용되는 wax의 제조 및 성분 분석을 실시하였다. 제조된 시료에 대해 lift 실험을 실시해 본 결과, 용제 추출법에 의해 제조된 시료가 자동차 엔진용 thermostat으로 사용 가능한 범위내에 있게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 원유의 pitch를 용제 추출한 후 감압 증류 및 산처리를 하면 보다 정밀한 wax를 제조 할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. The component analysis of wax for detecting temperature in automobile thermostat of the automotive engine and manufacture of it with distillation and solvent extraction were progressed. From the lift test results of prepared samples, it was found that the solvent extracted samples were in the proper range for use as an automobile thermostat of the automotive engine. And more accurate wax could be manufactured by high vacuum fractional distillation and acid treatment after solvent extraction from crude oil pitch.

Lately new regulations regarding harmful exhaust gases and fuel economy have bee enforced. The major research focuses on the reduction of exhaust gases and improvement of fuel economy. In order to achieve that alternative fuel as well as a lean bum combustion were used.<br/> Lean burn combustion has problems mainly related to the unstable combustion condition, as a result of the ignitability defect, low pressure and heat loss due to combustion period expanding. For that reason spark ignition process, air fuel mixture flow and satisfied charge of combustion chamber need to be improved. The major factor of designing lean bum combustio<br/> engine is to prevent misfire.<br/> Recently research has focused on ultra lean bum combustion engine as it produces misfire. The reason for that is the increase in tile air to air fuel mixture ratio, which is adjusted from 30: 1 to 50: 1. To solve this problem, spark plug of traditional engine should be improved. Further more the location should be adjusted.<br/> Tltis research analyses a method of combustion, when stratified charge is ignited with LPG. Further more we investigated the combustion field using thermocouple which is self-manufactured. As a result, the results present the optimum condition of ultra lean bur combustion characteristics.

Anti-glomerular basement membrane (Anti-GBM) nephritis is an autoimmune disorder characterized by rapidly progressive crescentic glomerulonephritis (RPGN). The treatment of anti-GBM nephritis with plasmapheresis, steroids and immunosuppressant has improved outcomes. An early diagnosis is essential for the survival of patients and a recovery of renal function. The diagnosis of anti-GBM disease has been traditionally based on the demonstration of linear deposits of immunoglobulins along the glomerular basement membrane by immunofluorescence (IF) microscopy. However, a kidney biopsy cannot always be easily performed in such ill patients. Recent development of specific enzyme immunoassays for anti-GBM antibody in the serum has made possible a provisional diagnosis without a kidney biopsy. A 46-year-old male patient with hypertension and hepatitis B presented with generalized edema and general weakness. Laboratory findings were compatible with acute renal failure and nephritic syndrome with positive serum anti-GBM antibodies. After plasmapheresis with steroid pulse therapy, renal biopsy was performed and diagnosed as membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN) with granular deposit of Ig G and C3. Follow-up antibody titers were negative. This case demonstrates the possibility of false-positive anti-GBM antibody in the serum. Therefore, enzyme immunoassay for anti-GBM antibody should be used only as a screening or follow-up test in patients that have been confirmed positive by IF microscopy.
평면 레이저 유도 형광법 ( PLIF ) 을 이용한 CH4 / O2 / N2 예혼합화염의 NO 농도 분포 가시화에 관한 연구

In this study, quantitative measurement of nitric oxide concentration distributions visualization were investigated in the laminar CH₄/O₂/N₂ premixed flame by Planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF). The NO A-X (0,0) vibrational band around 226nm was excited using a XeCl excimer-pumped dye laser. Selecting an appropriate NO transition minimizes interference from Rayleigh scattering and O₂ fluorescence. The measurements were taken in CH₄/O₂/N₂ premixed flame with equivalence ratios varying from 1.0∼1.6, and a fixed flow rate of 3slpm. NO was found to produce primarily between an inner premixed and an outer nonpremixed flame front, and total NO concentration is raised when equivalence ratios increase. These results suggest that prompt NO is likely to contribute to NO formation in CH₄/O₂/N₂ premixed flame. Furthermore, this trend was well matched with previous works.
