Using numerical modeling of Wenner array that could be applied to the corrosion state measurement of a reinforced steel in concrete, the steel bar location in concrete can be probed by the investigation of the change of the measured impedance from concrete surface. To study the effect of steel bar diameter and concrete cover depth variation in the surface-measured impedance, a numerical analysis model of Nondestructive Surface Measurement Method for Steel Corrosian in Concrete has been used to simulate the surface impedance responses from moderate corrosion state as the steel bar diameter (concrete cover depth) varies. The results confirm that the modeling technique is capable of determining steel bar sizes, and distance from the measuring electrodes qualitatively, as well as simulating corroosion responses on the surface of concrete based on the interfacial impedance between steel bar and concrete.
