        蔚山斷層 주변의 第四紀斷層

        Tectonic investigation is very important to understand the seismic environments. Many strong seismic activities are found to be closely related with pre-existed discontinuous planes of the crust, such as faults. Here we describe an example of the Quaternary faults occurring in the vicinity of the Ulsan fault near Ipshil-ri, Oedong-up, Ky o ∨ ngju city to enlight a seismic activity evaluation. This fault is thought to be the contact boundary between the Cretaceous to early Tertiary granite and andesite, and also cut the Quaternary formation which unconformably overlies granite and andesite. General strike of the fault plane is N-S, dipping 70° to the east. Along this fault plane, two different faulting events are distinguished; (1) reverse faulting with up to 5m of displacement in the Quaternary formation, and (2) normal faulting with 50° northerly plunging striation within the Quatenary fault plane. We suggest that these faultings are related to the WNW-ENE compressional tectonic environments during late Quaternary, and to the readjustment of accumulated strains by the pre-compressional tectonic environments. The age of the Quaternary formation is not fully investigated, however, this Quaternary fault is probably one of the active faults which has been rarely described in Korea.

        Effects of the Symmetry Energy on Strongly-magnetized Neutron Stars in the Density-dependent RMF Model

        We investigate the structure of neutron stars with strong magnetic fields by using a densitydependent relativistic mean field model. The coupling constant between nucleons and the rho meson in the model is obtained by using the polytropic formula for the symmetry energy in the neutron star. With the density-dependent coupling constant, the effects of the symmetry energy on strongly-magnetized neutron stars are considered in detail for particle fractions and the equation of state. The consequent changes in the masses and the radii of the neutron star are discussed by using the roles of the symmetry energy in the neutron star.

        Neutron Stars with Bose-Einstein Condensation of Antikaons as MIT Bags

        We investigate the properties of an antikaon in medium, regarding it as a MIT bag. We first construct the MIT bag model for a kaon with σ* and in order to describe the interaction of s-quarks in hyperonic matter in the framework of the modied quark-meson coupling model. The coupling constant g0BK in the density-dependent bag constant B(σ) is treated as a free parameter to reproduce the optical potential of a kaon in a symmetric matter and all other couplings are determined by using SU(6) symmetry and the quark counting rule. With various values of the kaon potential, we calculate the effective mass of a kaon in medium to compare it with that of a point-like kaon. We then calculate the population of octet baryons, leptons and K- and the equation of state for neutron star matter. The results show that kaon condensation in hyperonic matter is sensitive to the s-quark interaction and also to the way of treating the kaon. The mass and the radius of a neutron star are obtained by solving the Tolmann-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation.

        중성자별 상태방정식과 천체물리 현상

        New states of matter are expected to exist in the high density core of neutron stars. In the literature, pion and/or kaon condensation,state with hyperons, strange-quarks state, etc, are being considered. As new state of matter is introduced, the equations of states become soft and the density of neutron star increases. This effect will reduce the maximum mass of neutron stars. In this review article, we will introduce various neutron star equation of states and compare the theoretical results with the neutron star mass observations in neutron star binaries. Neutron star-neutron star binaries and neutron star-black hole binaries are expected to be the major sources of gamma-ray bursts and the gravitational wave sources that can be detected on earth. We will discuss the possibility of investigating the neutron star equation of states from astrophysical phenomena. 중성자별 내부 고밀도 상태에서는 지상의 자연스러운 조건하에서는존재가 불가능한 새로운 형태의 물질이 존재할 것으로 예측된다. 대표적인 상태가 야릇한 (strange) 쿼크를 가진 케이온이 응축된 물질상태이다. 이 외에도 파이온, 하이퍼론, 야릇한 쿼크 등 다양한 형태의물질이 존재할 수 있다. 새로운 물질 상태가 도입될수록 중성자별의상태방정식은 부드럽게 되어 중성자별 내부의 밀도를 증가시킨다. 이는중성자별의 최대 질량을 감소시키는 역할을 한다. 이 논문에서는중성자별 내부와 같은 고밀도 핵물질을 기술할 수 있는 다양한상태방정식을 소개하고, 중성자별 쌍성계에서 관측된 중성자별의 질량과비교분석을 통하여 이론적 모형을 검증할 수 있는 여러가지 가능성을제시한다. 또한, 중성자별-중성자별 또는 중성자별-블랙홀의 충돌에서감마선폭발 및 지상에서 검출 가능한 강력한 중력파 방출이 있을 것으로예상된다. 이 총설 논문에서는 이와같은 천체물리학적 연구를 통하여중성자별 내부 고밀도 상태방정식을 규명할 가능성에 대해서 논의한다.

        手少陽三焦經 正格의 自經補瀉(中渚 補, 液門 瀉) 刺鍼이 정상 흰쥐의 腦血流量 및 血壓에 미치는 影響

        Objectives : Joongjeo(TE3) Supplementation Aekmoon(TE2) Draining is a method belongs to Ohaeng-acupuncture, using directional supplementation and draining. Methods : This study was designed to investigate the effects of TE3 supplementation TE2 draining on changes in cerebral blood flow (rCBF) and mean arterial blood pressure (MABP) in normal rats. For these reasons, the present author investigated rCBF and MABP using laser doppler flowmeter in normal rats. In addtion, the present author also investigated action mechanisms of TE3 supplementation TE2 draining on changes in rCBF and MABP too. Results : In this results, TE3 supplementation TE2 draining elevated rCBF in time-dependent manner, but MABP levels decresed by TE3 supplementation TE2 draining. Pre-treatment with indomethacin (IDM), an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, inhibited increase of rCBF effectively. But pre-treatment with methylene blue (MTB), an inhibitor of guanylate cyclase, decreased rCBF levels. In addition, pre-treatment with IDM also decreased MABP levels, but pre-treatement with MTB increased MABP levels. Conclusions : In conclusion, these results suggest that TE3 supplementation TE2 draining is effective to treat patient with disease related to cerebral ischemia, because TE3 supplementation TE2 draining can increase rCBF. In addition, the mechanisms are thought to be related to guanylate cyclase pathways.

        대돈(大敦) 보(補) 음곡(陰谷) 사(瀉) 자침(刺鍼)이 정상 흰쥐의 뇌혈류력학(腦血流力學) 변화(變化)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Daedon($LR_1$) Supplementation and Eumgok($KI_{10}$) Draining on changes of cerebral blood flow in normal rats. Methods : Regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF) and mean arterial blood pressure(MABP) in normal rats are observed, and those mechanisms were also investigated with pre-treatment of indomethacin (IDM) and methylene blue(MTB) each. Results : In this study, $LR_1$ supplementation and $KI_{10}$ draining elevated level of rCBF after 30 min, but MABP level was lowered at 30 min, then recovered toward normal level. Pre-treatment with indomethacin (IDM), an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, inhibited increase of rCBF effectively, and pre-treatment with methylene blue(MTB), an inhibitor of guanylate cyclase, also inhibited increase of rCBF levels. On the other hand pre-treatment with IDM or MTB did not affect MABP levels. Conclusions : In conclusion, these results suggest that $LR_1$ supplementation and $KI_{10}$ draining can increase rCBF, and the mechanisms are thought to be related to both of cyclooxygenase and Guanylate cyclase pathways.

        口眼喎斜 환자에서 성별 및 발병부위가 병세 및 호전에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : This study was to compare the incipient grade and improvement rate between each opposite gender and part on peripheral facial nerve paralysis. Methods : We investigated 64 cases of patient with peripheral facial nerve paralysis and divided into four groups with each gender and affected part and compared their incipient grade and rate of improvement. All groups were evaluated by Yanagihara’s unweighted grading system before treatment and in everyday and after treatment. Results & Conclusion :1. There’s a difference of incipient grade between each opposite affected lesion in male. But there was not significant statistics. 2. There’s no difference of incipient grade between each opposite affected lesion in female. 3. There’s a difference of incipient grade between each opposite gender, affected their right side. But there was not significant statistics. Left side affecting palsy is more severe than right in male, and reversed results in female. But there were not significant statistics. There’s no differences between each affected lesion in female. 4. There’s no differences of improvement rate between each affected lesion in female. 5. The group, affected right side had better rate of improvement than another in male. But it’s not significant statistics. 6. Male group had better rate of improvement than female in both gender, affected its left lesion. But it’s not significant statistics.
