Effect of abrasion damage on the chemical resistance of geotextiles were evaluated. Three types of geotextiles were adopted for the abrasion damage test and four types of sandpapers were used to consider the soil particle size. After abrasion damage test, the chemical resistance of damaged geotextile was evaluated by the change of tensile strength of geotextile after immersion in acid solution of pH 3 and 12 at $25^{\circ}C$ or $50^{\circ}C$ for 30 days, respectively. From the results of abrasion damage test, it was seen that geotextile surface showed serious damage with increase in the particle size of sandpaper. Especially, the surface of needle punched nonwoven geotextile was easily abraded. For the $\#100,\;\#220$ sandpapers having large grain size, the retention ratio of tensile strength of the needle punched nonwoven geotextile decreased most seriously in the 200 cycle abrasion. But, for the $\#400\;and,\;\#800$ sandpapers having small grain size, the retention ratio of tensile strength of the woven geotextile decreased most seriously in the 200 cycle abrasion. Finally, it was seen that geotextiles showed no change in the tensile strength on immersion in acid solutions of pH 3 and pH 12 at $25^{\circ}C\;or\;50^{\circ}C$ for 30 days, respectively.

Purpose: This study was conducted on dental technicians to examine the problems of the dental laboratory registration system and devise a plan to improve it. Methods: For data collection, an online survey was conducted on 14,015 dental technicians registered in the Korea Dental Technologist Association as of October 2020. Among the collected 405 questionnaires, 391 data were used for analysis. Results: We found that dental technicians felt that the dental laboratory opening registration system was unfair. There were problems including the problem of the verification method of job performance, not acknowledging the difference in the job field, and the lack of understanding of the structure of work cooperation between dentistry and dental laboratories. Furthermore, it was recognized that the system was improved by reflecting the change in job area according to the change of the times. Conclusion: There is an urgent need to reorganize the legal system so that the dental technicians can have their professionalism and autonomy recognized while remaining faithful to the public interest of protecting the national oral health by revising the related regulations, thereby ensuring smooth work activities.

Rotational abrasion test was applied to geosynthetics to examine the effects of surface damage type on the abrasion resistance using different friction brush type and sandpaper particle size. In this study, the effects of friction brush type and sandpaper particle size on abrasion resistance were investigated. Surface damage of geosynthetics by rotational abrasion test was interpreted based on the phenomenological results. Abrasion resistance of geosynthetics was examined through tensile strength changes before and after abrasion test. Nonwoven geotextiles showed severe surface damage with type B and C brushes. Geogrid and geomembrane showed slight surface damage by type A brush but was fractured by type B and C brush. When sandpaper was used, nonwoven geotextiles showed more severe surface damage than woven geotextile. Tensile strength changes of all geosynthetics were closely related to the surface damage after rotational abrasion test.

Electro-spun PVDF nanofibers and PE/PP thermal-bond nonwovens were composited to obtain nanofiber-based yarns using a slitting and twisting technique. Nanofiberbased yarns were applied to string-wound cartridge filters and compared with commercial filters. The average pore size, air permeability, and filter efficiency evaluations were performed to compare PVDF-based nanofiber composite yarns with commercially available polypropylene (PP) string-wound cartridge filters. The filtration efficiency of the nanofiberbasedyarn string-wound cartridge filter significantly improved compared to the commercial filter. For a 5 μm particle size, PVDF-based nanofiber composite yarn filters showed a removal efficiency of above 96% and an improved filter efficiency of more than 26% compared to commercial filters. Nanofiber membranes limited to surface filtration can perform to depth filtration if they consist of nanofiber-based composite yarns. The design of nominal and absolute filters can be based on the content of the nanofiber-based compositeyarns. These results demonstrate that electro-spun PVDF-based composite yarns could potentially serve as string-wound cartridge filters during processing or pre-filtering in water treatment areas.
