Purpose: How does professionalism develop while becoming a great doctor? This study based on the life of Avison, a great doctor, aims to identify the developmental features of an excellence and professionally ethical doctor. Methods: We chose Oliver R. Avison, who founded the first modern hospital and medical school in Korea, now known as Severance Hospital and Yonsei University College of Medicine. Sixteen pivotal events in Avison's life were extracted, based on 2 standards: self-memory and strong feeling. Further we analyzed Avison' life using a professional development analysis model. Results: Oliver Avison's medical professionalism development was divided into 4 periods: 'Motivating in Medicine period', 'Medical Training period', 'Medical Doctor period', and 'Medical Educating period'. A hallmark of Oliver Avison's medical professionalism development was the growth of motivation and social responsibility, medical knowledge, medical creativity, intra-personal intelligence, and relationship forming abilities. Conclusion: To excel in medicine, a medical student should be encouraged to understand his unique intellectual potentials and interest as a medical worker, and try to understand problems in the established domain and field of medicine, to develop new medical symbol systems, and climates.
기숙사 실내 색채 이미지 선호에 따른 대학생의 뇌파 특성

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the EEG according to the interior color image preferences of the spaces which consist of the university dormitory. Twenty one space pictures which were related to lobby, cafeteria, and personal space, and 7 color images, such as natural, romantic, modern, active, casual, classic, and clear, 34 university students' preferences were surveyed. Based on the results of the survey, 11 male students and their 2 preference images and 2 non-prefer images for lobby and for restaurant were selected. The EEG was measured when each picture was presented on a computer monitor, and the powers of delta, theta, alpha, and beta waves were compared between when preference images and non-preference images were presented. The results of this study show that the powers of delta and beta waves were greater when non-preference images were presented and the powers of theta and alpha waves were greater when preference images were presented. And in accordance with the preferred and non-preferred, the powers of specific frequency bands at certain areas of the brain were significantly different.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket focused on the variation of the length according to the body type and the degree of satisfaction with the body of middle-aged women. For this study twenty seven different types of tailored jacket were designed with some variation of their silhouette. the length and the collar's figure on three hundred and twenty three middle-aged women ranging from 35 to 50 years old. There was a significant difference in the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type of middle-aged women. The women of the body type I evaluated that tailored jackets of the lung length were more attractive, graceful, and active, soft and preferred the style, and the women of the body type II and III, them of the middle length. The women of the body type I evaluated that tailored jackets of the short length were more attractive, graceful, active, soft and preferred the style. Also there was a meaningful difference in the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket according to the degree of satisfaction with their bodies. As satisfied with their face size, they thought tailored jackets of the long length were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style. As satisfied with the girth of the hip, they evaluated the short/long tailored jackets were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style. As satisfied with their height they valued the long tailored jacket was more attractive. graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type and the degree of satisfaction with the body of middle-aged women. The subjects were 323 middle-aged women ranging from 35 to 50 years old. We measured their bodies and asked them to report to the questionnaire. The results are as follows. There was a significant difference in the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type of middle-aged women. The women of the type 1 preferred X silhouette and the women of the type 2, A silhouette. The women of the type 3 preferred H silhouette, and the women of the type 4, H silhouette. There was a meaningful difference in the preference of tailored jacket according to the degree of satisfaction with their bodies. As satisfied with the girth of the body, weight, and figure they recognized X silhouette attractive, graceful, active, and soft.
국내 의학과, 의학전문대학원, 의예과 학생들의 인지․정서․사회적 특성 고찰

Purpose: Medical schools and graduate medical schools should understand the personality and psychological qualities of graduate medical students, medical students, and premedical students and link them with the curriculum. Methods: In this study, through June 2010 we analyzed medical papers that were published in Korea. The search terms were psychological terminology, including emotion, cognition, intelligence, social ability, stress, motivation, judgment, and learning style. Results: In the cognitive and learning aspects, preliminary doctors were under the influence of prior knowledge; cumulative learning; self-efficacy; and visual, logical, non-self-led learning types and had external learning motivation. In the emotional adaptive aspects, they appeared to be the ISTJ (introversion, sensing, thinking, judging) personality type with regard to the Myers-Briggs indicators and perfectionists, suffering from severe academic stress. Their motivation on matriculation was associated with their interests and aptitudes, and through community service, they adapted to the learning and living environment of medicine. In the social and moral aspects, they did not have high moral judgment, felt devaluated about their job than before, and tended to have an open and flexible doctor-patient relationship. Conclusion: Medical graduate students, medical students, and premedical students have greater likelihood to cultivate their character and capacity for adaptation.

This study has been conducted to identify whether trend attitude affects the level of acceptance of boldness in male's fashion. For this study, we prepared questionnaires based on the literature and surveyed 348 male and female adults between age of 20 and 45 who are employed by companies located in Seoul. For data analysis, we implemented factor analysis and correlation analysis. For the level of acceptance of boldness in male's fashion according to trend attitude, people with a higher interest in trend and a higher level of trend conformance were more positive to recent trend style, exposure style and exceptional style. In addition, people who were more positive to acceptance of recent trend were more favorable to recent trend style and exceptional style of male's fashion.
