Although several theories and models have been proposed to explain the effects of cultural differences in team decision making, many aspects of team decision-making in multi-cultural contexts such as team performance, team communication, and team cognition still remain unclear. In particular, little attention has paid to the empirical studies on team processes multi-cultural team members use to interact with each other to accomplish the task in different task environments. To investigate the effects of culture and task characteristics on team decision making behavior in multi-cultural contexts, this study compared culturally homogenous and heterogeneous groups in the context of logistics decision making. Results of the study showed that cultural difference and task complexity may affect team performance as well as team interaction process to varying degree.

The effect of thiourea on the nano-mechanical and chemical properties of Ni-P foil was studied to develop a high performance Ni-P deposit for automobile and machinery parts. The Ni-P deposit was prepared by electroforming in a modified sulphate bath with different amounts of thiourea. Chemical analysis of the electrodeposited Ni-P foils by energy dispersive spectroscopy showed that phosphorous in the foil was reduced with thiourea. Structural analysis by X-ray diffractometry revealed that the (111) plane of the Ni-P deposits grew preferentially with increasing crystallinity. Surface analysis by atomic force microscopy and fieldemission scanning electron microscopy showed that the surfaces of the Ni-P electrodeposited with 0 and 0.01 g/L thiourea were relatively smooth and clean showing no nodules, whereas, the cauliflower-like nodules were observed on the surfaces of the deposits prepared with 0.03, 0.05, 0.07 and 0.1 g/L thiourea. The surface roughness (RRMS) of the deposits increased by addition of 0.1 ppm of thiourea from 6 to 54 nm. Nanomechanical properties of the Ni-P foil such as elastic modulus, hardness and stiffness determined by tribonano- indenter were tended to increase by addition of 0.1 ppm of thiourea from 77 to 156 GPa, 6.6 to 8.9 GPa and 109.6 to 186.6 μN/nm, respectively.

With the new technology and the popularization of mobile phone. the functions and designs of mobile phone have been varied rapidly. However. based on the user's level of familiarity on mobile phone function and knowledge of information technology. the using behaviors of mobile phone. especially between the young users who are well acquainted with the latest function and technology and the over middle-aged users who are relatively not. would be quite different. A survey was conducted to investigate the various using behaviors of mobile phone in different age groups. The total number of six hundred and sixty-seven people from age seventeen to sixty participated in this study. The participants were divided into young group (age between 17 to 29) and the over middle-aged group (age between 40 to 60) to compare the difference group considered design. price. and function of the mobile phone as three important factors. on the other hand. the over middle-aged group considered quality of communication. price and ease of use as three important factors. All the respondents of the young group know how to use the text messaging function. however for the over middle-aged group. 40% of the respondents knows how to use the text messaging function. The over middle-aged group seemed mainly use the mobile phone for voice communication. however the young group had a tendency to communicate each other with short text message rather than through voice conversation. Twenty percentage of young group responded that they had an experience of pain or discomfort at the thumb. the thenar eminence area. or carpus area during pushing the mobile phone keypad. The excessive frequent use of keypad may cause the risk of repetitive strain injury (RSI). The results of this study could provide important information to understand the way of using mobile phone in different age groups. and also could be used to design and market the mobile phone.

The objective of the paper is to present the current and near-term developments in mobile information technology from the human factors perspective, which have a significant impact on the collaboration among the components of commercial trucking operations. Communications among the drivers, dispatchers and decision makers in the back office, and the highway infrastructure are continuing to improve the efficiency of transport systems. This collaboration leads to better asset management, increased transport efficiency, and improvements in safety and security. The last section of the paper addresses how the human component in the system is critical to effective implementation and has not received an appropriate amount of attention.

NOx conversion to N₂ was investigated by the plasma/catalyst system. Plasma could enhance the performance of catalyst and the plasma/catalyst system showed higher NOx conversion and wider temperature range than those of catalyst alone. Among the catalysts which were tested with plasma, catalyst C showed the highest NOx conversion at the wide range of temperature [NOx conversion: 92%, NOx conversion to N₂: 68%, NO 1775 ppm, N0₂ 145 ppm, 0₂ 5%, He balance, reaction temperature: 400℃, flow rate: 1 L/min]. And its performance significantly depended on the amount of HC.
