Purpose This study investigated the efficacy and toxicity associated with consolidation chemotherapy using paclitaxel and carboplatin after concurrent chemoradiation (CCR) in cervical cancer patients. Materials and Methods From a total of 37 patients, 19 with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO)stage IB1-IIA cervical cancer (group 1) underwent surgery followed by consolidation chemotherapy after CCR, and 18 with stage IIB-IVA disease (group 2) received consolidation chemotherapy after primary CCR. Three cycles of chemotherapy using paclitaxel (135 mg/m^2) and carboplatin (AUC 5.0) were administered every 3 weeks for CCR therapy, and three cycles of consolidation chemotherapy using paclitaxel (175 mg/m2) and carboplatin (AUC 5.0) were used every 3 weeks after CCR. Results The complete and partial response rates were 77.8% and 22.2% in group 2. Moreover, the 3-year progression-free and overall survival rates were 62.7% and 90.9% in group 1, and 51.9% and 60%in group 2, respectively. The most common grade 3 or 4 hematologic toxicities observed were leukopenia (group 1, 10.5%; group 2, 13.0%) and neutropenia (group 1, 7.0%; group 2, 14.8%), and grade 3 or 4 diarrhea (group 1, 1.8%) and febrile illness (group 2, 1.9%) were the most frequently observed non-hematologic toxicities. When we compared these results with previous reports,consolidation chemotherapy after CCR using paclitaxel and carboplatin revealed a relatively lower complete response rate (77.8% vs. 87-100%, respectively) and shorter progression-free survival (51.9-62.7% vs. 81-86%, respectively) and overall survival (60-90.9% vs. 81-95%, respectively) in spite of similar toxicity findings. Conclusion Due to low efficacy results, consolidation chemotherapy using paclitaxel and carboplatin after CCR is not a feasible treatment regimen for high-risk early-stage or locally advanced cervical cancer.
Impact of Chemoradiation on Prognosis in Stage IVB Cervical Cancer with Distant Lymphatic Metastasis

Purpose The purpose of this study was to determine whether chemoradiation (CCR) is efficient for improving prognosis, compared with systemic chemotherapy (SC), in patients with stage IVB cervical cancer who have distant lymphatic metastasis. Materials and Methods Among 2,322 patients with cervical cancer between January 2000 and March 2010,43 patients (1.9%) had stage IVB disease. After exclusion of 19 patients due to insufficient data and hematogenous metastasis, 24 patients (1%) who received CCR (n=10) or SC (n=14) were enrolled. We compared tumor response, progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS), and disease recurrence between CCR and SC. Results Complete response rates were 60% and 0% after CCR and SC (p<0.01). Grade 3 or 4 leukopenia was more common in patients treated with CCR (24.4% vs. 9.1%,p=0.03), whereas grade 3 or 4 neuropenia was more frequent in those treated with SC (28.4% vs. 11.1%, p=0.03). Development of grade 3 proctitis occurred as a late radiotherapy (RT)-related toxicity in only one patient (10%) treated with CCR. In addition,squamous cell carcinoma and CCR were favorable prognostic factors for improvement of PFS (adjusted hazard ratios [HRs], 0.17 and 0.12; 95% confidence intervals [CIs], 0.04 to 0.80 and 0.03 to 0.61), and only CCR was significant for improvement of OS (adjusted HR, 0.15; 95% CI, 0.02 to 0.90). However, no differences in the rate and pattern of disease recurrence were observed between CCR and SC. Conclusion CCR may be more effective than SC for improving survival, and can be regarded as a feasible method with some caution regarding late RT-related toxicity for treatment of stage IVB cervical cancer with distant lymphatic metastasis.

This paper represents a method for face recognition using a facet function. The region of face is extracted cutting off the hair part and normalized with respect to the horizontal eye line. One of the intractable problem in face recognition is to overcome the gradual change of the gray level intensity due to the direction of light. We apllied facet function model on the array of the gray levels of the local area of the face image so that the facet function can reveal the slope of the local area face. This supplies a few parameters on each local area of face which can be used for the feature vectors of the neural nets. This shows improved rate of face recognition comparing to the existing methods.

This study tried to apply basic function of Farming organization to four land zone of rural area in chonnam province. First of all in the aspect of cost, product organization has cut more cost cut effect than marketing organization. Second, the expansion of production was larger in a plain zone and middle plain field zone which had visited advanced action and invitated the expert for adopting advices. Third, improvement of market competitiveness was less due to the deviation of the price in spite of marketing oriented organization. Finally, harmony among members in production organization has become more important problem. In conculsion, to improve competitiveness of agriculture and upbringing of farming organization, Korean Agriculture should be competed by regional organization not by indivisual. Through horizontal integration of regional unit which farm organization of producers. Through efficiency of marketing information and direct deal it can be stable farm marketing network, cut down marketing cost and improve the marketing efficiency. Through rationization of farming organization it can lead postive attendance of organizer, raise the efficiency of product organization, and return added value of compound industrialization in agriculture part to product organization
EMI filter의 감쇄 성능 예측을 위한 소자의 공통 및 차동 모드 모델링 기법

EMI 감쇄성능의 정확한 예측을 위해서는 EMI 필터에 사용되는 소자에 대한 명확한 공통 및 차동 모드 임피던스 모델 정보가 필요하다. 하지만 기존의 전도성 EMI 감쇄성능 예측 방식은 이러한 모델의 부재로 인해 고주파수에서 예측 값과 실험 결과에 큰 오차가 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 사용되는 EMI 필터의 소자를 전도성 전파 규제 범위에서 모델링하고 이를 이용하여 공통 및 차동모드 임피던스로 다시 모델링한다. 실험 결과 EMI 감쇄성능을 1㎒ 이하의 영역에서만 예측할 수 있었던 기존 방식과 비교해 제안 방식은 10㎒ 영역까지 예측할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 최종적으로 임피던스 분석기를 이용한 측정 결과와 모의실험 결과를 제시하여 제안 방식의 타당성 및 유용성을 검증한다.
