This paper aims to find why crying and language of children with brain damage play an important role in lots of Don DeLillo’s works and to analyse the similarity between words unconsciously used by ordinary people and ‘Human stain’ in Philip Roth’s The Human Stain. All human languages are contaminated by experiencing historical events like wars, murders, the threat of nuclear, and capitalism and have negative aura. Consequently, All human beings except children with brain damage live together with terror of death. This is similar to Coleman Silk who is imprinted as a racist. He is also represented as a representative intellectual and seems to be contaminated by knowledge. Teaching Greek in college, reciting Shakespeare’s works and arguing about feminism are examples of how people have become polluted by knowledge. To look for the purest language, Don DeLillo has regressed into the past and found roots of words. He has consistently tried to use absence of a predicate, short sentences, and conversations consisting of only monosyllables and repeated phrases which are like chanting a spelling in most of his works. But the most extraordinary tool he used is children with brain damage because only children with brain damage are not stained by human’s negative aura.

The Effects of Exercise Program for the Elderly Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an exercise program for elder people and to verify the effects of it. Method :A one-group pretest-posttest experimental design was used. The exercise program was developed by researchers, and applied to 2.0 elderly for 3 times a week for 5 weeks. To evaluate the treatment effects, dependent variables such as subjective health status, cognitive function, ADL, IADL, and depression were measures ANOVA was used for analysis. Result: There were significant positive changes in subjective health status, cognitive function ADL and depression except IADL during the treatment period. The treatment effects decreased significantly during 1-3 weeks after the treatment period. Conclusion : The exercise program, which had developed by the researchers, enhancing subjective health status, cognitive function, and ADL and decreasing depression of elders. Therefore this program is strongly recommended for geriatric nursing care settings.
무례/불손의 회피 방법을 활용한 교수 방안 - 수직적 관계를 중심으로 -

This paper aims at seeking the teaching scheme to avoid Murye/Bulson between the vertical relations in cultural(collectivism and authoritarianism) and lingual aspects. Firstly, cultural recognition strategies present as follows: don’t be disconcerted by personal questions/parsimony of salutation/coercion of participation in congratulation·condolences/admonition and interference of seniors, recognize various criterions of relations, don’t emphasize one’s need and don’t attack the authority of seniors. Secondly, the lingual use recognition devices present as follows: recognition and judgement of Murye/Bulson speech acts considered as inherent face threat acts/of relational criterions, of illocutionary force in conformity with beneficial way of conversation. Lastly, it is suggested, the teaching scheme based on the determinated causes of Murye/Bulson.

임펄라이트니스의 반응전략에 대한 연구는 발화차원에서 ‘개인적 욕구에 따른 체면’을 중심으로, 상대방의 체면을 공격하거나 자신의 체면을 방어하기 위해서만 산출되고 이러한 체면의 양을 구분 짓는 ‘사회적 지위’의 기준으로 인해 힘이 약 한 자가 힘이 강한 자에게 보이는 방어전략(체면 보호)으로 한정된다. 그러나 임펄라이트니스와 달리, 한국의 무례 및 불손은 개인적 체면뿐만 아니 라 사회적 역할 및 의무에 따른 사회적 체면 또한 이를 판단하는 그 기준이 되고 관계적 작용이 사회적 지위를 비롯하여 나이, 항렬, 신분, 학번, 성별 등과 같은 서양과 다른 관계 기준이 존재하기 때문에 그 반응을 개인적 체면과 방어의 두 가지 양상으로 한정하여 나타낼 수 없다. 따라서 한국어에서의 무례 및 불손에 대한 반응은 사회적 규준과 관련된 관계 적 작용(윗사람에서의 아랫사람, 아랫사람에서의 윗사람, 수평적 관계)과 상황적 작용으로 인해 한국의 사회⋅문화적 특수성을 반영한다.

Electrical impedance tomography(EIT) can produce functional images with conductivity distributions associated with physiological events such as cardiac and respiratory cycles. EIT has been proposed as a clinical imaging tool for the detection of stroke and breast cancer, pulmonary function monitoring, cardiac imaging and other clinical applications. However EIT still suffers from technical challenges such as the electrode interface, hardware limitations, lack of animal or human trials, and interpretation of conductivity variations in reconstructed images. We improved the KHU Mark2 EIT system by introducing an EIT electrode interface consisting of nano-web fabric electrodes and by adding a synchronized biosignal measurement system for gated conductivity imaging. ECG and respiration signals are collected to analyze the relationship between the changes in conductivity images and cardiac activity or respiration. The biosignal measurement system provides a trigger to the EIT system to commence imaging and the EIT system produces an output trigger. This EIT acquisition time trigger signal will also allow us to operate the EIT system synchronously with other clinical devices. This type of biosignal gated conductivity imaging enables capture of fast cardiac events and may also improve images and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by using signal averaging methods at the same point in cardiac or respiration cycles. As an example we monitored the beat by beat cardiac-related change of conductivity in the EIT images obtained at a common state over multiple respiration cycles. We showed that the gated conductivity imaging method reveals cardiac perfusion changes in the heart region of the EIT images on a canine animal model. These changes appear to have the expected timing relationship to the ECG and ventilator settings that were used to control respiration. As EIT is radiation free and displays high timing resolution its ability to reveal perfusion changes may be of use in intensive care units for continuous monitoring of cardiopulmonary function.
