Eagle's syndrome refers to a symptomatic elongation of the styloid process or calcification of the stylohyoid and stylomandibular ligaments that usually accompanies facial and pharyngeal pain, dysphagia, and foreign-body sensation in the throat. Making an accurate diagnosis is difficult as Eagle's syndrome can be accompanied with referred pain to various areas of head and neck. Treatment options for Eagle's syndrome include non-surgical and surgical methods. The surest and the most effective method for relieving the symptom is surgical removal or reduction of the elongated styloid process. The present study reports two cases of female whom were diagnosed as "Eagle's syndrome" and whose chief complain was foreign-body sensation and pain in the throat on movement. Surgical removal via transoral approach of the elongated styloid process is a safe surgical option with favorable results compared to extraoral approach.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome is defined as a compressive neuropathy of the posterior tibial nerve in the tarsal canal. Schwannoma is a benign tumor that arises from the peripheral nerve sheath. It presents as a discrete, often tender, and palpable nodule associated with neurogenic pain or paresthesia when compressed or traumatized. The growth rate is usually slow, and these lesions seldom exceed 2 cm in diameter. In addition, local recurrence occurs less than 5%. We report on a case of tarsal tunnel syndrome caused by a large recurred space-occupying lesion measuring $4.3{\times}2.7{\times}2.7cm^3$.
모듈러 건축의 현황과 활용에 관한 기초연구 - 사례조사 분석을 중심으로 -

This research was for the investigation and analysis of the illustration of modular construction application which is different use by each school facility since modular construction related examples are rare in domestic situation, and it has a limitation because of its being basic research material for generating the basic form of modular construction. The research results are as followings. First, in case of school facility from illustration investigation results, module measurement of class modulation is as similar as $3m{\times}10m$, but in resident facility the planning of more flexible plane shape can be possible since modules of 6 cases are free and various, and facade form of various types can be appeared by combination of module unit. Second, as a result of the generated characteristics in compared analysis of representative examples, school facilities were highly indicated for movability and duration reduction areas, and the flexibility, economic efficiency, and environment-friendliness was indicated low relatively. Third, the basic planning types of modular construction can be largely divided into layered type, horizontal (straightway) type, and compound type. The layered type has a short traffic line and facility system and is appropriate for the low-rise form unless separate construction method is used since it is susceptible to load. The horizontal type is advantageous for securing an opening since it has wide extent in light but has a long traffic line and facility system. Finally, the compound type can be possible for planning of various forms but needs the combination of various unit modules and traffic line and facility plan for it can be difficult.

밀레니얼 하이 테크 미디어의 개인화된 특성은 기존의 정형화된 크리에이티브 문법을 깨트리고 있다. 파괴적인 하이 테크 미디어의 정보 형태는 소비자의 성향이나 특성에 따라 상이하게 수용된다. 이 연구의 목적은 하이테크 미디어의 효율적인 크리에이티브 전략 수립을 위한 가이드라인을 탐색해 보는데 있다. 소비자의 심리적 성향에서 소비자 혁신성은 하이 테크 미디어의 크리에이티브를 평가하는데 핵심적인 요인이다. 소비자의 혁신성과 하이 테크 미디어의 크리에이티브 유형에 대한 설득 커뮤니케이션 효과를 알아 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 구체적(추상적) 크리에이티브 유형은 혁신성이 낮은 소비자보다 혁신성이 높은 소비자에게 광고에 대한 태도, 브랜드 태도, 구매의도 그리고 구전의도에서 높게 나타났다. The new characteristic of Millennial High-Tech Media is breaking the existing standardized creative grammar. The destructive form of high-tech media is differently accommodated according to the consumer's tendency or characteristics. The purpose of this study is to explore guidelines for effective creative strategy creation of high-tech media. In consumer psychology, consumer innovation is a key factor in evaluating the creativeness of high-tech media. The results of finding out the effect of persuasive communication on consumer innovation and advertising creative type are as follows. Informative(image) creative type showed higher attitude toward advertisement, brand attitude, purchase intention, and prior intention to consumers with high innovation than consumers with low innovation.
단일 현장타설말뚝의 변단면 분석을 통한 최적 기둥-말뚝 직경비 제안

In this study, the behavior characteristics of bent pile structures with varying cross-section was examined through the measured results of field load test. A framework for determining the bending stress is calculated based on the stresses in the circumference of the pile using 3D finite element analysis. It is found that the bending stress near the pile-column joint changes rapidly and fracture zones occurs easily at variable cross-sections in bent pile structures. Also, the optimized column-pile diameter ratio was analyzed through the relationship between the column-pile diameter ratio and lateral crack load ratio. Based on this study, the optimized column-pile diameter ratio can be obtained near the inflection point of the curve between the column-pile diameter ratio and lateral crack load ratio. Therefore, a present study by considering the optimized variable cross-section condition would be improved bent pile structures design. 본 연구에서는 변단면 단일 현장타설말뚝의 거동 특성을 평가하고자 현장재하시험 사례를 분석하였으며, 또한 3차원 유한요소해석을 이용하여 말뚝 내부에서 발생하는 응력을 통해 심도별 휨응력을 산정하였다. 분석 결과, 단일 현장타설말뚝의 변단면 부근에서 휨응력이 집중되어 재료파괴가 발생하기 가장 쉬운 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 토대로, 단일 현장타설말뚝의 기둥-말뚝 직경비와 수평 균열하중비 관계를 통해 최적의 기둥-말뚝 직경비를 제안하였다. 연구 결과, 최적의 기둥-말뚝 직경비는 기둥-말뚝 직경비와 수평 균열하중비 관계 곡선의 변곡점 부근에서 산정되었으며, 단일 현장타설말뚝 설계에 최적 변단면 특성을 고려한다면 개선된 설계가 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

최근 당뇨병환자의 증가와 전반적인 의료 질의 향상으로 당뇨병환자의 수명이 연장되고 당뇨병이 오랜 기간 이환 되었을 때 나타나는 만성 합병증들이 증가하고 있다. 그 중 당뇨병성 족부(과거 당뇨발)질환 역시 증가 하는 추세이다. 당뇨병 환자는 평생 8명당 1명꼴로 발에 문제가 발생하여 병원을 방문하게 된다. 이중 치료로서 발가락이나 발을 절단해야 하는 비율 10% 이하이지만 현재 450만명으로 추산되는 당뇨병환자수를 기준으로 할 때 그 수는 매우 많아진다.

Partial toenail ablation on both sides of the great toenail, unfolding the severely curved toenail, and application of a simple device for maintaining the unfolded state of the incurved toenail is described to treat severely incurved toenails (pincer nails). This technique alleviated symptoms and improved the shape of severely curved toenails of the greater toe.
