Second-order Eikonal Model Analysis for the π±+¹²C Elastic Scattering at p = 995 MeV/c

We present the closed expression for the eikonal phase shifts, including up to the second-order corrections, which has been applied to elastic scatterings of the π⁺+¹²C and the π⁻+¹²C systems at p = 995 MeV/c. The calculated angular distributions, taking into account the first- and the second-order eikonal phase shifts, show extraordinarily good agreement with the observed data. We also investigate how angular distributions can be influenced by the effective potentials.

In SRC column, the closed hoops are applied with the same detail of both 135° standard hooks to expect the same performance as hoops of RC columns. This standard detail is actually complicated to construct, thus, two separating rebars are connected in the form of a square shape and welded over the overlapping section. But this is also complicated in construction practice. Therefore, this study describes experimental results regarding cyclic behaviors shown with alternative hoops cramped by the steel clip type-binding device instead of welding and standard specimen. As a result of the experiment, the specimens with alternative hoops of the SRC column showed comparable performance to the specimens with closed hoops. Therefore, it can be evaluated that the alternative hoops applied with the rebar confinement clips in the SRC column can replace the closed hoop.
Load Torque Estimation for a Parallel Hybrid Agricultural Tractor in Field Operations

This paper presents a load torque estimation algorithm for a parallel hybrid agricultural tractor (HAT) in major field operations such as baling, plowing, and rotary tillage. While the load torque in a hybrid electric vehicle is mostly used to make the vehicle drivable,a large portion of the load torque in a HAT is required for field operations. To identify dynamic characteristics of each field operation,both PTO and transmission torque in major field operations are measured. Based on the measurement results, it is inferred that the load torque estimation is necessary to develop a torque-assist strategy to capture the characteristics of the field operation. Thus, an adaptive observer is proposed for the load torque estimation, and its performance is validated experimentally by comparing the estimated load torque with the measurements.
First-Order Eikonal Model Analysis for ^(11)Li + p Elastic Scattering at 62 MeV/nucleon

The elastic scattering of the ^(11)Li + p system at 62 MeV/nucleon has been analyzed within the framework of the ¯rst-order eikonal model. Assuming that the 11Li nucleus consists of a core of ^9Li and two neutrons, we take the nuclear potential as a sum of contributions due to the core and the two halo neutrons. The calculated angular distribution, taking into account the ¯rst-order eikonal phase shift, is found to be in very good agreement with the observed data. We investigate the e®ects of halo potentials on the effctive potentials, phase shifts, and the cross sections. We found that the break-up e®ect of halo neutrons is important to understanding ^(11)Li + p elastic scattering.
웨이브릿 변환을 기반으로 한 심자도 신호의 국소 적응잡음제거

Magneto-cardiogram(MCG) signals may be highly distorted by the environmental noise, such as power-line interference, broadband white noise, surrounding magnetic noise, and baseline wondering. Several kinds of digital filters and noise cancellation methods have been designed and realized by many researchers, but these methods gave some problems that the original signal may be distorted by digital filter due to the wideband characteristics of background noise. To eliminate noise effectively without distortion of MCG signals, we performed multi-level frequency decomposition using wavelet packets and local adaptive noise cancellation in each local frequency range. In addition to the proposed wavelet filter to eliminate these various non-stationary noise elements, the local adaptive filter using the least mean square(LMS) algorithm and the soft threshold do-noising method are introduced in this paper. The signal to noise ratio(SNR) and the reconstruction square error(RSE) are calculated to evaluate the performance of the proposed method and compared with the results of the conventional wavelet filter and adaptive filter. The experimental results show that the proposed local adaptive filtering method is better than the conventional methods.

The need for a Cold In-place Recycling using emulsified asphalt (CIR-emulsion) mixture with specific engineering properties calls for the use of a mix design and, recently, a new mix design procedure was developed for CIR-emulsion. As a part of CIR-emulsion mix design process, dynamic modulus, flow number, flow time and raveling tests were conducted to evaluate short- and long-term performance of CIR-emulsion mixtures at various testing temperatures and loading conditions. Based on the test results, the optimum emulsified asphalt content for CIR was determined. Dynamic modulus, flow number and flow time of CIR-emulsion mixtures using CSS-1h (cationic slow setting emulsion) were higher than those of HFMS-2P (high-float medium-setting emulsion modified with a polymer). Flow number and flow time of CIR-emulsion mixtures using RAP materials with softer residual asphalt was higher than those of CIR-emulsion mixtures using RAP materials with harder residual asphalt. The dynamic modulus, flow number and flow time were affected by both emulsion type and residual asphalt stiffness of RAP materials. Raveling loss of CIR-emulsion mixtures with 1.5% emulsified asphalt was significantly less than those with 0.5% and 1.0%

Some pediatric patients who can not eat orally depend on enteral tube feedings, and some patients require more nutrients and calories to achieve the catch-up growth. If a patient is counting on the parenteral nutrition, early initiation of enteral feeding, orally or enterally, is a very good for the intestinal mucosal maturity and motility. There are numerous kinds of formulas and supplements for the enteral feeding for neonates, infants, and children. Depending on the intestinal symptoms, allergic symptoms, requirement of special nutrients, we can choose regular infant formula (milk-based, soy-based), protein hydrolysate formula, amino acid hydrolysate formula, elemental formula. Proper use of these formulas would help for the pediatric patients to recover from their diseases, to facilitate the intestinal mucosal maturity and to achieve their goal of growth.
