텐진(天津, Tianjin)은 중국의 북방지역 그 중에서도 환발해(環渤海)지역에 위치하고 있는 직할시(直轄市)로서 근대시기부터 중국경제의 중심 역할을 담당하는 지역 중의 하나이다. 텐진은 중국의 전(前) 외교부 장관을 지낸 錢其琛의 『외교십기(外交十記)』에서도 나타나고 있듯이 한국과 중국의 교류에 있어서 중요한 의의를 가진 지역이다. 이러한 역사적 의의는 이 지역에 대한 한국의 해외직접투자 유입과도 밀접한 연관을 가지게 되었다. 텐진은 한국의 중국에 대한 해외직접투자에 있어 전진기지의 역할을 하면서 베이징(北京)과 지리적으로 인접하고 있다는 장점을 최대한 이용하고 있다. 중국의 텐진 지역은 한국의 대기업의 대규모 투자가 집중된 지역 중의 하나이다. 삼성과 LG는 이미 텐진 지역에 1990년대 중반부터 대규모 투자를 실행하고 있으며, 한국 중소기업의 동반투자도 함께 이루어지고 있는 기반을 제공하고 있다. 또한 이들 글로벌 대기업은 한국 본국의 중소기업뿐만 아니라 중국 현지의 기업들에게도 현지화전략을 통해 새로운 발전기회를 제공하고 있다(김상욱, 2008).

분할 시그너춰 화일을 위한 효율적인 디렉토리 관리 기법

A partitioned signature file is an enhancement of the signature file that divides all the signatures into blocks in such a way that each block contains the signatures with the same key. Its directory storesall the keys as meta information for avoiding unnecessary block accesses by examming them first before the acture searching of the blocks.. Efficient directory management is very important in large databasse environments since ist size gets larger proportionally to that of the database. In this paper, we first point out the problems in the directory management methods of the previous partitioned signature files, and then present a new one solving them. OUr method offers good features in the followint three aspects: (1) suitability for large database environments, (2) adaptability to dynamic situations, and (3) storage overhead for the directory. Moreover, we can seamlessly integrate it as a subcomponent into previously-developed general-purpose storage engines. These features show that our method is applicableto signature-based access structures for the content-based retrieval in various multimedia applications such as hypermedia systems, digital library systems, multimedia document systems, multimedia mailing systems, and so on.

The Blackwater Lightship: Modernity and the Idealism of Family Bond in the Era of the Celtic Tiger

This paper illustrates the post-national aspects in The Blackwater Lightship of the Irish life trapped in the double bind of the ethos of collectivity in tradition and the emerging individualism in the process of modernization. The 1999 novel by Tóibín has been regarded in general as an acclamation of the personhood liberated from the idealism of the Irish solidarity based upon family bond. It is, yet, shown that The Blackwater Lightship makes its appeal to the tradition of the patriarchal heterosexuality Irish Catholicism generates. In the novel, Helen’s attachment to her father is evidently traced back to Eamon de Valera’s Catholic politics and the heterosexual idealism of family bond, which is detailed in the 1937 Irish Constitution. The double bind in the condition of the Irish modern life is a cultural direction for the family bond contradicting the desire for individual freedom arising from modernization and Europeanism in the era of the Celtic Tiger.

한말·일제강점기(1899~1929) 목포소방조의 결성과 활동

This study aims to examine the activity of fire fighters who were in charge of fire and disaster management in Mokpo under Japanese imperialism(1899~1929). Since the opening of the port, Mokpo was considered as an important area in Jeollado, and fire fighting activity began here. This study examines the composition and activities of fire fighters of our country based on Mokpo fire fighting activity at late Joseon period. Japanese settled in Mokpo after the port was open and created Mokpo fire fighting service as an assistant administrative organization to prepare the base of their control. The members of Mokpo fire fighting service were Japanese businessmen who settled successfully in Mokpo. They provided enormous support for the activity of Mokpo fire fighting services. The businessmen raised money to purchase the fire fighting equipment to prevent fires at the grist mills and cotton factories they owned. In Mokpo, a residential place where Korean lived with Japanese was formed because of its narrow land form. It was a reason why Korean fire-fighters also worked for the Mokpo fire fighting service. Mokpo fire fighting service focused on preventive fires in addition to fire fighting, fire prevention and customs correction. Today's fire fighting also focuses on preventive fire fighting. Because of the preventive activity at the time when the system thought only of fire control, Mokpo fire fighting service was ranked the national second fire fighting service designated by the Governor-General of Korea. However, fire hydrant, fire fighting equipment or updated pumps were arranged only around Japanese residence. The wage of Korean fire fighters was different from that of Japanese. Colonization was also found at fire fighting service. 본 연구는 한말 일제강점기(1899~1929) 목포에서 화재와 재난업무를 담당하였던 목포소방조의 활동을 살피는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 개항 이후 목포는 전라도의 주요지역으로 부각되었으며 소방조 활동도 먼저 시작하였다. 목포소방조의 활동을 통해 한말 일제강점기 한국에서의 소방조의 구성과 활동내용을 살펴보았다. 개항 이후 목포에 정착한 일본인들은 통치기반을 다지기 위해 행정 보조기관으로 목포소방조를 창설했다. 목포소방조 간부들은 당시 목포지역사회에서 성공적으로 정착한 일본인 실업가들이었다. 그들은 목포소방조의 활동에 지원을 아끼지 않았다. 화재진압장비를 구입하는데 기업인들은 성금을 하였는데 그들이 소유한 정미소, 면화공장 등의 화재예방을 위해서였다. 목포의 협소한 지형상 한국인과 일본인들이 뒤섞여 사는 거주지가 형성되었다. 이것은 목포소방조에 한국인 소방수들도 같이 활동하는 원인이 되었다. 목포소방조는 화재진압, 화재예방, 풍속교정 등의 소방활동을 하였는데 그 중에서도 예방활동에 중점을 두었다. 오늘날 소방에서도 예방소방은 가장 중요한 소방활동이다. 화재진압에 급급한 당시에 목포소방조의 예방활동은 총독부 선정 전국 2위의 모범소방조로 만들어 주었다. 그러나 소화전이라던가 장비및 최신 펌프는 일본인 거주지에 집중 배치하였다. 보수도 한국인소방수와 일본인소방수를 차별하였다. 식민지적 현실은 소방분야에서도 예외는 아니었다.
