Lumbar fusion using the pedicle screw system is a popular operative procedure, with favorable clinical results and high fusion rates. However, the risk of adjacent segment disease after lumbar fusion is problematic. We report a complicated case of severe retrolisthesis at L3-4 level following dynamic interspinous process stabilization at L2-3 level and a fusion at L4-5 level. The radiological and clinical fndings of this complication are discussed, and a review of the literature is presented. (Korean J Neurotrauma 2017;13(1):50-53
The Onset of Convective Instability of Viscoelastic Fluids in Porous Media

A theoretical analysis of thermal instability driven by buoyancy forces is conducted in an initially quiescent, horizontal porous layer saturated by viscoelastic fluids. Modified Darcy's law is used to explain characteristics of fluid motion. The linear stability theory is employed to find the critical condition of the onset of convective motion. The results of the linear stability analys shows that the overstabilty is prefer mode for a certain parameter range.

The Information Committee of the Korean Gastric Cancer Association sent questionnaires to 31 laparoscopic gastric surgeons about their personal experiences with laparoscopic gastric surgery from 2001 to 2003. Twenty-four surgeons responded to the questionnaires (response rate: $77.4\%$).The number of laparoscopic gastric surgeries from 2001 to 2003 was 1,130 and increased from 209 in 2001 to 593 in 2003. The number of operations for a gastric adenocarcinoma also increased from 87 cases in 2001 to 403 cases in 2003. Laparoscopic radical procedures, such as a laparoscopyassisted distal gastrectomy or total gastrectomy (LADG or LATG), have increased rapidly during this period. (55 cases in 2001, 150 cases in 2002, and 364 cases in 2003). Laparoscopic function-preserving gastrectomies were not performed until 2003, during which year one pylorus- preserving gastrectomy and six proximal gastrectomies were performed laparoscopically. A wedge resection for a gastric submucosal tumor was performed in 71 cases in 2001, 82 in 2002, and 103 in 2003. Hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery (HALS) was performed in 39 cases in 2001, 55 in 2002, and 49 in 2003. As for personal indications for a LADG, 14 surgeons performed a LADG only for a T1 lesion, and 5 surgeons extended their indications to T2N0 lesions. In the near future, laparoscopic procedures for gastric cancer will be widely adopted in Korea if the medical-insurance obstacle is overcome and the long-term survival results are verified.
가상 상태와 상태 디커플링을 이용한 IPM전동기용 슬라이딩 모드 제어기의 설계

영구자석 매입형 동기 전동기(IPM : Interior-mounted Permanent Magnet Motor)의 전류제어는 릴럭턴스에 의존하는 최대토크 특성 때문에 표면부착형 동기전동기(SPM : Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Motor)보다 더 복잡하다. 그러므로 고성능 토크제어를 위해서는 d축 전류와 q축 전류의 상태 디커플링이 필요하다. 하지만 상태들 사이에 영향을 미치는 인덕턴스의 변화 때문에 상태 디커플링이 어렵다. 그러므로 이 변화에 대처할 수 있는 상태 디커플링 방법의 개발이 필요하며 이를 이용한 전류의 독립제어가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 IPM모터 에 대하여 가상 상태를 갖는 슬라이딩 모드 제어를 이용하여 상태 디커플링이 가능한 접근법을 제안한다. 제안된 슬라이딩 평면은 의란과 불확실성이 존재하더라도 PI 전류 제어기에 의해서 제어되는 공칭 시스템의 동특성을 가질 수 있다. The current control for Interior-mounted Permanent Magnet Motor(IPM Motor) is more complicate than Surface-mounted Permanent magnet Motor(SPM Motor) because of its torque characteristic depending on the reluctance. For high performance torque control, it requirs state decoupling between d-axis current and q-axis current dynamics. However the variation of the inductances, which couples the state dynamics of the currents, makes the state decoupling difficult. So some decoupling methods have developed to cope this variation and each current can be regulated independently. This paper proposes a novel approach for fully decoupling the states cross-coupling using sliding mode control with virtual state for IPM Motor. As a result, in spite of the parameter uncertainty and disturbance, the proposed sliding surface can have the dynamics of nominal system controlled by PI controller.
