Immunoglobulin G4-Related Thyroid Disease: A Single-Center Experience and Literature Review

Background: Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disease is an entity that can involve the thyroid gland. The spectrum of IgG4-related thyroid disease (IgG4-RTD) includes Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) and its fibrotic variant, Riedel thyroiditis, as well as Graves’disease. The early diagnosis of IgG4-RTD is important because it is a medically treatable disease, and a delay in the diagnosis mightresult in unnecessary surgery. We present a case series of IgG4-RTD with a review of the literature. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical presentation and the radiological and pathological findings of patients diagnosedwith IgG4-RTD between 2017 and 2021 at a tertiary medical center in Korea. We also conducted a literature review of IgG4-RTD. Results: Five patients were diagnosed with IgG4-RTD during the study period. The patients’ age ranged from 31 to 76 years, and threepatients were men. Most patients visited the clinic for a neck mass, and hypoechogenic nodular lesions were observed on neck ultrasonography. Three patients had IgG4 HT, and two patients had IgG4 Riedel thyroiditis. All patients developed hypothyroidism that necessitated L-thyroxine replacement. The diagnosis of IgG4-RTD was confirmed after a pathological examination of the surgical specimen in the first two cases. However, the early diagnosis was possible after a core needle biopsy in three clinically suspected patients. Conclusion: The diagnosis of IgG4-RTD requires clinical suspicion combined with serology and histological analyses using IgG4immunostaining. The early diagnosis of IgG4-RTD is difficult; thus, biopsy with IgG4 immunostaining and serum IgG4 measurements will help diagnose patients suspected of having IgG4-RTD.

The objective of this study is to systematically review the studies of social enterprise in Korea and propose an academic direction toward social enterprise. To attain the objective, the present study searched National Assembly Library, which is the national web-based database, for the literatures and studies relevant to social enterprise published from January 2007 to September 31st, 2014. As research word, ‘social enterprise’ was used to retrieve all the papers and theses that contain the key word. As a result, a total of 623 dissertations and academic papers were searched out. The titles of those papers were categorized into (i) social enterprise policy, (ii) social enterpriser and entrepreneurship, (iii) Organizational performance and sustainability of social enterprise, (iv) Internal operation process of social enterprise and (v) others. This study is an exploratory research. Therefore, it reviewed literatures to reclassify the existing studies and investigated into the current status of social enterprise research. Particularly, more attention was given to the internal operation process and organizational culture in detail.
교육 연극 수업이 전문계 고등학교 학생들의 자기 효능감 및 학습 동기 에 미치는 영향

우리는 교육 연극 수업이 전문계 고등학교 학생들의 자기 효능감과 학습 동기에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지에 대해 통제 집단과 실험 집단으로 나누고 사전·사후 검사를 통하여 알아보았다. 첫째, 교육 연극 수업이 자기 효능감 향상에 유의미한 영향을 주었다. 이 결과는 지속적이고, 다양한 방법의 교육 연극 수업이 수업에 적용된다면 자기 효능감 향상에 더욱 기여함을 보여준다. 둘째, 교육 연극 수업이 학습 동기 향상도 유의미한 영향을 주었다. 이들 결과로 미루어 보아 지속적이고, 다양한 방법의 교육 연극 수업이 수업에 적용된다면 학습 동기 부여에도 효과가 있었다. 따라서 연구자는 교육 연극을 전문계 고등학교 학생의 식품수업에도 적용하면 그 효과를 효율적으로 얻을 수 있다고 판단한다. We surveyed whether the educational theatre effects on sef-efficiency and learning motivation in the vocational high school students, before and after examination. First of all, the educational theatre improved the self-efficiency significantly. The result suggested that the application of educational theatre in the class is one of the alternative ways to enhance the self-efficacy in the vocational high school. Secondly, the educational theatre also effected on the learning motivation. From our result, the educational theatre which is adapted constantly and variouslyin the class will also enhance the learning motivation in the vocational high school. Thus, our results confirmed that the educational theatre in food science class of the vocational high school is the alternative teaching method to improve the educational effect.
'상담이론과 실제' 온라인 수업에서 간호대학생의 자기인식 경험

본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생을 대상으로 비대면 수업 중 '상담이론과 실제' 교과목을 통한 자기인식 경험의 본질과 의미를 탐색하는 데 있다. 참여자는 E군 대학의 '상담이론과 실제' 교과목을 온라인으로 수강한 40명의 간호대학생이다. 자료분석은 Colaizzi의 현상학적 분석 방법을 적용하였다. 연구결과로 숨겨진 내면의 발견, 건강한 내적 자기 만들기, 자신에 대한 숙고, 서로의 다른 관점을 인식함, 포부와 영향력의 형성인 5개의 범주가 도출되었다. '상담이론과 실제' 교과목을 인터넷으로 수강한 후, 자기인식 경험에 대한 분석을 통해 간호대학생의 올바른 자기인식이 형성됨을 볼 수 있었다. The purpose of the study was to explore experience of self-awareness of nursing students in 'Counseling theory and practice' online class. Participants were 40 of nursing students learning of counseling theory subject in online, and Colaizzi's phenomenological method was used. The results were as follows. There were five theme clusters that 'find hidden my inner side', 'improve my healthy inner self', 'reflection of myself', 'recognize each others' different viewpoints' and 'create an aspiration and an impact'. Therefore, nursing students established self-awareness after learning of 'Counseling theory and practice' online class.
