Monodisperse and Sequence-defined Conjugated Polymers
Kyoung Taek Kim(김경택) 한국고분자학회 2021 한국고분자학회 학술대회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.46 No.1
Synthetic polymers without distribution in their molecular weight and sequence attract recent interests. Conjugated polymers having discrete molecular weights and defined sequences can be model systems to understand the structure-property relationships of one-dimensional synthetic metals. In addition, these polymers having atomically precise structures could serve as new optoelectronic materials of which the physical and chemical properties were finely tuned for applications. The cross-convergent approach is a step-economical alternative to the solid-phase synthesis of sequence-defined polymers. In this talk, we show that polythiophene composed of a large discrete number of monomers connected in absolutely defined sequences can be synthesized by the cross-convergent method. The resulting monodisperse and sequence-defined polythiophenes can be used as valuable building blocks for constructing block copolymers and conjugated polymer networks.

The major subject of this paper is to develop the concept for a Korea high speed train system and recommend to train configuration. High speed train configurations are basically concerned traction power(train configurations with concentrated; CPT or distributed power system; DPT) and train design(single car as compared with articulated bogies). The result of configuration, a advantages and disadvantaged were necessitated by different train configurations ; - distributed underfloor power have an increased length for the seats by 15% as compared with the concentrated power train, - articulated trainsets are characterised by less of number of bogies and reduced values of mass, train resistance, noise and vibration. From the result, the optimized train concept combining high seat capacity per train length with low weight and train resistance is 400m long, single-floor train composed of two symmetrically arranged half train sets. Therefore, at this work recommended distributed train system. However, the final decision of Korea high speed train configuration was concentrated power train and articulated bogie system. The configuration of trainset was 20cars included 2 power cars, 4 motorized cars and 14 trailer cars.

A microstrip filter has been designed and fabricated in hairpin form on a GaAs substrate and its characteristics such as the insertion loss, return loss, and bandwidth have been investigated. The presented filter is realized with relatively small size, 4.5 by 3.6 mm. The insertion loss and return loss of the filter are 1.17 dB and 30 dB, respectively. The filter exhibits 3 dB-bandwidth of 350 MHz at the center frequency, 5.890 GHz. The experimental results show good agreement with the numerical ones. However, the measured center frequency is about 100 MHz higher than the designed one.

This paper investigates the effects of scene movements on cybersickness to develop the guidelines of scene movements in virtual environments. The types of scene movements were made for both scene navigations(through the axes of X: lateral, Y: fore & after, and Z: vertical) and scene rotations(by pitch, roll and yaw). And there were each three levels of speed; 2.7, 4.5 and 6.3 /s(for navigation), and 10, 20 and 30 /s(for rotation) were conducted. Twelve participants were exposed to each scene for 15 minutes, and three tests were performed to measure the degree of sickness. Before and after subjects were exposed to virtual environments, they were requested to describe their sickness symptoms by means of answering the Simulator Sickness Questionnaire(SSQ). And the postural stability tests, in which the Center of Pressure(COP) of subjects were traced and recorded by a 'force platform', were conducted. During the exposure on virtual environments, the subjects were requested to rate the degree of nausea. For both navigation and rotation, the effects of speeds and axes were significant in the SSQ scores and the nausea ratings, while it was not in the COP. The correlation between the SSQ scores and the COP data was not found. Therefore, it was inappropriate to use COP as a measure of cybersickness. The degree of sickness increased, except for the case of the yaw, as the speed increased. The sickness was most severe in the scene navigation through the axis X and in the scene rotation by the yaw.
