        간호대학생의 문화적 역량 영향 요인

        This study was to identify the factors affecting cultural competence of nursing students. Data were collected from nursing students attending three 4-year colleges in B and Y City, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Cultural competence showed statistical differences according to grade, religion, clinical practice experience, experience of contacting multicultural clients, foreign language proficiency, multicultural education, perceived necessity for multicultural education, experience of participation in multicultural events and volunteer activities. Cultural competence was positively correlated with global citizenship (r=.488, p<.001) and cultural empathy (r=.442, p<.001). The affecting factors on cultural competence were global citizenship (β=.311), cultural empathy (β=.246), experience of contacting multicultural clients (β=.163), and multicultural education (β=.124). These variables explained 31.9% of total variance on the cultural competence. Therefore, to enhance the cultural competence of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and implement experiential learning-based curriculum and comparative educational programs promoting global citizenship, cultural empathy, and opportunities to contact multicultural clients. 본 연구는 간호대학생의 문화적 역량에의 영향요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료수집은 B시와 Y시 소재 3개 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 간호학과 학생들을 대상으로 진행하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 활용하여 서술통계, t-검정, 일원분산분석 및 쉐페검증(Scheffe test), Pearson 상관계수와 단계적 다중회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 대상자의 문화적 역량은 학년, 종교, 임상실습경험, 다문화 대상자 접촉경험, 외국어 실력, 다문화 강좌 수강경험, 다문화 교육에 대한 필요성 인식, 다문화관련 행사 참여경험, 다문화관련 봉사활동 참여경험에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 대상자의 문화적 역량은 세계시민의식(r=.488, p<.001) 및 문화적 공감(r=.442, p<.001)과 순상관관계를 나타냈다. 대상자의 문화적 역량 영향요인으로는 세계시민의식(β=.311), 문화적 공감(β=.246), 다문화 환자 접촉경험(β=.163), 다문화 강좌 수강경험(β=.124)이 포함되어 간호대학생의 문화적 역량에 대한 이들 변인의 총 설명력은 31.9%였다. 따라서 간호대학생의 문화적 역량 증진을 위해 세계시민의식, 문화적 공감력을 향상시키고 다문화 대상자를 접할 기회를 확장할 수 있는 다양한 체험학습 기반 교과 및 비교과 교육프로그램의 개발과 적용이 요구된다고 본다.

        간호학생의 노인에 대한 지식, 노인돌봄태도가 노인간호실천에 미치는 융복합적 영향

        The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among knowledge, attitudes toward caring for the elderly and geriatric nursing practice and the influencing factors on geriatric nursing practice in nursing students. Data were collected from 255 nursing students with clinical practice experiences in three nursing schools in B city, with the measurement of Fact on Aging Quiz PartⅠ, Attitudes toward Caring for the Elderly and Geriatric nursing practice. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression. Significant correlations were found among knowledge of, caring attitude towards the elderly and geriatric nursing practice. The significant factors influencing geriatric nursing practice were caring attitude towards the elderly, grade, and knowledge of the elderly, and these factors explained 27.4% of the variance. The findings suggest that effective educational strategies need to be developed and implemented to foster positive caring attitude towards and knowledge of the elderly in order to improve geriatric nursing practice in nursing students. 본 연구는 간호학생의 노인에 대한 지식과 노인돌봄태도 및 노인간호실천과의 관계를 확인하고 간호학생의 노인간호실천에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 파악하기 위하여 시도되었다. 자료수집은 2015년 8월25부터 9월 30일까지 진행되었고 연구대상자는 B 광역시 소재 3개의 간호학과에서 재학 중인 임상실습을 경험한 남녀 간호학생 255명을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료수집을 위해 노인에 대한 지식, 노인돌봄태도, 노인간호실천 측정도구를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 기술통계, 상관관계, 다중회귀분석을 이용하였다. 연구 결과 노인에 대한 지식, 노인돌봄태도 및 노인간호실천은 유의한 상관관계가 있었으며, 노인돌봄태도, 학년, 노인에 대한 지식이 노인간호실천에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 파악되었다. 이들 요인들에 의한 노인간호실천 설명력은 27.4%이었으며, 노인간호실천에 가장 영향을 많이 미치는 요인은 노인돌봄태도였다. 따라서 본 연구결과를 토대로 추후 간호학생의 노인간호실천 증진을 위해 긍정적인 노인돌봄태도를 함양하고 노인에 대한 지식을 강화할 수 있는 효과적인 노인간호교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 필요하리라 사료된다.

        간호대학생의 우울 영향요인

        본 연구는 간호대학생의 긍정심리자본과 사회적 지지 및 우울 간의 관계를 확인하고 우울에 미치는 영향요인을 확인하기 위해 수행되었다. 자료수집은 B시와 Y시 소재 3개 대학 간호학과 재학생을 대상으로 하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 서술통계, t-검정, 일원분산분석 및 Scheffe 검정, Pearson's 상관계수(correlation coefficients), 단계적 다중회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 대상자의 우울은 학년, 건강상태, 수면시간, 임상실습경험, 학업성적, 전공만족도, 대학생활만족도, 대인관계에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 우울은 긍정심리자본(r=-.551, p<.001) 및 사회적지지(r=-.365, p<.001)와 유의한 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인은 긍정심리자본(β=-.397, p<.001), 건강상태(β=-.207, p<.001), 대학생활만족도(β=-.185, p=.002), 수면시간(β=-.144, p=.006)으로 나타났으며 간호대학생의 우울에 대한 이들 변인의 총 설명력은 38.2%로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 간호대학생들의 우울을 예방하고 이를 효율적으로 관리하기 위해 긍정심리자본을 강화시킬 수 있는 중재전략 수립 및 적용과 적극적으로 건강증진을 도모하며 대학생활만족도를 향상시키고 적절한 수면시간 확보를 위한 효율적인 시간관리 전략을 수립할 수 있도록 간호대학생을 지지하고 교육할 필요가 있다고 본다. This study was a descriptive research study to identify the influencing factors on depression in student nurses. Data were collected from nursing students in three different universities in B and Y City, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Depression of the participants showed statistical differences according to grade, health status, sleeping hours, clinical practice experience, academic performance, satisfaction with major, satisfaction with university life, and interpersonal relationship. Depression was negatively correlated with positive psychological capital (r=-.551, p<.001) and social support (r=-.365, p<.001). The factors affecting depression were positive psychological capital (β=-.397, p<.001), health status (β=-.207, p<.001), satisfaction with university life (β=-.185, p=.002), and sleeping hours (β=-.144, p=.006), explaining 38.2% of the total variance of depression. Therefore, to prevent or manage depression in student nurses, it is necessary to develop and implement active educational strategies promoting positive psychological capital, health status, and satisfaction with university life. Support and education need to be provided to equip student nurses with adequate time management strategies for promoting sufficient sleeping hours.

        간호대학생의 다문화 태도에 미치는 영향 요인

        The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between multicultural awareness and multicultural attitude, and the factors influencing multicultural attitude in nursing students. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from August 25 to September 17, 2014. The participants of this study were 207 nursing students in B metropolitan city. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN v18.0. The mean scores of multicultural awareness and multicultural attitude were 3.74±0.48 and 3.77±0.51 respectively. A statistically significant positive correlation was observed between multicultural awareness and multicultural attitude. Factors influencing multicultural attitude in participants were found to be multicultural awareness, need for multicultural education, family member married to a foreigner. These factors explained 47.0% of variance in participants’ multicultural attitude. Based on this result, effective nursing educational curriculum and programs need to be developed in order to foster positive multicultural awareness and attitude in nursing students. 본 연구는 간호대학생의 다문화 인식과 다문화 태도 간의 관계를 파악하고, 다문화 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료 수집은 2014년 8월 25일에서 9월 17일까지 B시에 소재한 3개 간호학과에 재학 중인 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t-검정, ANOVA, Scheffé 검정, Pearson 상관계수(correlation coefficients)와 단계적 다중회귀분석(stepwise multiple regression analysis)으로 분석하였다. 간호대학생의 다문화 인식 평균은 5점 만점에 3.74±0.48점, 다문화 태도 평균은 5점 만점에 3.77±0.51점이었으며, 다문화 인식과 다문화 태도 정도의 관계는 통계적으로 유의한 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(r=.671, p<.001). 또한, 다문화 태도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인은 다문화 인식(β=.610, p<.001), 다문화교육의 필요성 인식(β=.129, p=.018), 다문화 친인척 유무(β=.111, p=.032)로, 이들 변인은 다문화 태도를 47%(Adj. R^2=.470, p<.001) 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 간호대학생의 다문화 태도를 긍정적으로 향상시키기 위해서는 다른 문화의 차이점과 다양성을 인정하고 수용하는 다문화 인식과 태도 함양을 위한 간호 교육 과정 및 프로그램 개발이 필요하리라 사료된다.

        COVID-19 감염병 시대, 간호대학생의 임상실습 적응 경험

        Purpose: This study was performed to explore and describe the overall clinical practice adaptation experiences among nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This qualitative study applied the grounded theory method by Corbin and Strauss. Data were collected from May to August 2021 through individual in-depth interviews with 14 nursing students from three universities in B metropolitan city. Results: From open coding, 20 sub-categories and 10 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category was the process of “keeping the place of learning while adhering to the restrictions of the era of pandemic” and that it consisted of four phases: confusion, withdrawal, adjustment, and growth. Through this process, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as “shifting to positive thinking,” “building a shield to protect oneself,” and “focusing on learning.” The consequences of these strategies were “adapting to the reality of the infectious disease situation” and “strengthening a foothold to grow as a future nurse.” Conclusion: An in-depth understanding of nursing students’ experiences of adapting to clinical practice during the COVID-19 pandemic will guide nursing educators to promote effective teaching strategies to better support nursing students in a time of infectious disease crisis.

        시설입소 치매부모를 돌보는 자녀들의 경험

        Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the experience of adult Korean children who are caregivers for parents institutionalized with dementia. Methods: Participants were fourteen adult children caregivers of elders institutionalized with dementia. Data were collected through in-depth unstructured interviews with individual participants from August to November, 2012. Theoretical sampling was used to the point of theoretical saturation. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin’s Grounded Theory Method. Results: From open coding, 67 concepts, 29 sub-categories, and 14 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category of the experience of adult children caring for their parents institutionalized with dementia was ‘enduring the role of a prop’ consisting of four phases: initial turmoil, exploration, role adjustment, and acclimation. To manage the role of a prop, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as overcoming the unfamiliarity, overseeing the nursing home care, and counterbalancing the caring roles. As a result, participants experienced ambivalence towards the existence of parents with dementia, changes in family relationships, altered viewpoint towards nursing homes, and restructuring of life. Conclusion: In-depth understanding of the experience will guide nurses to promote effective interventions in order to better support the Korean family caregivers of parents institutionalized with dementia.

        기독교 간호대학 학생의 영적간호실습 경험

        Purpose: This study was conducted to explore, describe and understand the experience of spiritual nursing practice among christian nursing students. Methods: Data were collected through reflective journals written by 75 nursing students during their spiritual nursing practice, from March to April, 2012. Data were analyzed by thematic analysis method suggested by Braun and Clarke. Results: The experience of spiritual nursing practice among christian nursing students consisted of four themes: Departure with anxiety and anticipation, spiritual frustration and dispiritedness, spiritual touch and fulfillment, and spiritual reflection and maturity. Although students commenced the practice uneasy in mind, they managed to learn to connect with their patients spiritually sharing inner intimacy through empathy. Students recognized the importance of spiritual care for their patients, acquiring a holistic perspective for nursing. Through spiritual reflection, students felt rewarded and grew to spiritual maturity. Conclusion: The results suggest that spiritual nursing practice is a valuable way to learn and actualize the holistic nursing practice in students. Since nursing students experienced various spiritual challenges during the practice, more proactive educational interventions need to be developed and implemented to reinforce students’ spirituality.

        호스피스 완화병동 간호사의 말기암환자 돌봄 경험

        Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe hospice palliative nurses’ experience of caring for terminal cancer patients. Methods: Eleven hospice palliative nurses participated in the study. Data were collected through individual in-depth unstructured interviews with participants from November, 2012 to October, 2013. Theoretical sampling was used to the point of theoretical saturation. Data were analyzed using Corbin and Strauss’ ‘Grounded Theory Method.’ Results: From open coding, 25 sub-categories and 12 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category was ‘becoming stepping-stones between life and death enduring burdens’, consisting of three phases: the phase of withdrawal, the phase of exertion, and the phase of maturity. Through this process, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as ‘maintaining a distance’, ‘sharing intimate daily life’, ‘being a mediator for a peaceful death’, ‘grieving and remembering’. The consequences of these strategies were a transcendental perspective towards life and ambivalent feelings toward hospice nursing. Conclusion: In-depth understanding of the hospice palliative nurses’ experience of caring for terminal cancer patients will guide nurse managers and policy makers to promote effective nursing strategies to better support hospice palliative nurses.
