본 연구는 상담자의 성지식과 성태도의 실태, 개인적 특성에 따른 성지식과 성태도의 차이, 성지식과 성태도와의 관계, 그리고 성지식과 성태도에 영향을 미치는 변인들에 대해 알아보았다. 연구대상은 상담 실무 현장에 있거나 상담 경험이 있는 총 168명의 상담자이며, 각 연구대상자는 성지식, 성태도, 사회적 바람직성 그리고 개인사항에 대한 설문지를 작성하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상담자의 성지식은 39점 만점 중 26.65점, 성태도는 5점 만점 중 2.96점으로 나타났다. 둘째, 상담자의 개인적 특성에 따른 성지식 차이에서는 기혼 집단, 상담 자격증이 있는 집단, 상담경력이 3년-7년인 집단, 혼전성경험 집단, 자위행위 경험 집단, 성상담 경험 집단, 성교육을 50시간 이상 받은 집단일수록 성지식이 다소 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 상담자의 개인적 특성에 따른 성태도 차이를 살펴보면 30대 집단, 종교가 없는 집단, 교육분석을 31회기 이상 받은 집단, 혼전성경험 집단, 자위행위 경험 집단일수록 성태도가 보다 개방적임을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 상담자의 성지식과 성태도와의 관계에서는 성지식과 성태도와는 정적인 상관이 있는 것으로 드러났는데 성지식이 많을수록 성태도가 개방적이고, 성태도가 개방적일수록 성지식이 많다는 것을 알 수 있다. 다섯째, 상담자의 성지식에 영향을 미친 변인으로는 상담자격증의 유무, 성교육의 유무, 혼전성경험의 유무 순으로 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났으며, 상담자의 성태도에 영향을 미치는 변인으로는 혼전성경험의 유무, 종교의 유무, 자위행위 경험의 유무 순으로 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구의 의의는 상담자를 대상으로 성지식과 성태도의 실태를 조사하여 상담자를 위한 성교육프로그램 계획과 실시에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점과 사회적 바람직성 척도를 사용하여 본 연구결과에 대한 신뢰도를 높였다는 점이다. In order to achieve this purpose, this study examined the actual condition of counselors` sexual knowledge and Attitude, the relation between individual specific factor and sexual knowledge and attitude, the relation between sexual knowledge and sexual attitude, the variables to affect sexual knowledge and sexual attitude. The data of the study was collected from 168 counselors who are working in counseling field or have the counseling experience. The results of this study are as follows. First, the sexual knowledge was scored 26.65 of 39 and the score of sexual attitude was 2.96 of 5. Second, in case of the sexual knowledge, there was significant difference by marriage status, license, career, sexual intercourse, masturbation, sexual counseling and sexual education. Third, in case of the sexual attitude, there was significant difference by age, religion, education analysis, sexual intercourse and masturbation. Fourth, as far as the relation between the sexual knowledge and the sexual attitude was concerned, the more sexual knowledge they have, the more open-minded sexual attitude becomes. Also, the more open-minded sexual attitude becomes, the more they have sexual knowledge. Fifth, as variables which might affect the sexual knowledge, there are the existence of the license, sexual education and sexual intercourse. As variables which might affect the sexual attitude, there are the existence of sexual intercourse, religion and masturbation. That is, it showed this study was to survey the counselors` sexual knowledge and attitude in order to provide the basic data for the sexual education program of counselors. In addition, the reliability of result got higher by using the social desirability.
