        The Al NMRlineshapes of AlCl₃,Al(OH)₃and Al(H₂PO₄)₃crystaline compounds which consist of six-coordinated alumium atoms investigated. For central transition the resonance line-width is about 10 up to 15 kHz. The value of e²qQ/h for three crystaline compounds are 450 kHz and 936 kHz,respectively(at ??=0) The gradrupale coupling constant for Al in α-Al₂O₃(corrundum)is 2.37 MHz(at??=0.1)

        상어간유 흡입에 의한 지방성 폐렴 1례

        Lipoid pneumonia, a rare disease entity, results from accumulation of lipids in the alveoli. It results from the aspiration of vegetable, animal oil or mineral oil. Squalene is a derivative of shark liver oil that is taken as a traditional remedy in some Asian counties and is used widely also in cosmetics. Although many cases with predisposing factors have been reported, lipoid pneumonia can occur in normal individuals without predisposing factors. A 2-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital with a history of fever and cough for during 2 weeks. On physical examination, his lung sound was decreased in the right lung field. He was found to have infiltrate in the right upper lobe, middle and lower lung field on a chest radiograph. His parents fed him with squalene. High resolution computed tomography scan of the chest showed `Crazy-paving appearance` in the right upper, middle and lower lobes. Lipoid pneumonia is suggested when there is a history of oil- or lipid- based product use or consumption. The characteristic finding of lipid materials, 'Crazy-paving appearance' in chest Computed Tomography (CT) or chest Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI), may be useful in the diagnosis of lipoid pneumonia. We report the case of lipoid pneumonia of a 2-year-old healthy child with a history of squalene. 소아에서는 반사적인 방어 기전의 미숙으로 우유나 간유 등 지방성 물질이 흡입되기 쉬워서 건강한 소아에서도 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 본 증례에서와 같이 검사 상 다른 특징적인 이상이 없고, 항생제에 반응을 하지 않는 경우에는 지연성 호전을 보이는 폐렴에 대해서 고려해 보아야 하고, 그 중 지방성 폐렴의 경우에는 검사보다 병력 청취가 더 중요하다는 것을 보여준다. 저자들은 기침과 2주간 지속되는 발열을 주소로 입원한 평소 건강하던 환아에서 스쿠알렌 복용에 의한 지방성 폐렴 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

        이른바 大量殺傷武器擴散防止構想(PSI)에 대한 法的 小考

        It has been said that the Post-Cold War Era has begun with the collapse of the Soviet Union, but with the frequent incidents of terrorism thereafter as well as the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we can never affirm with ease that the international community is safer than in the past. Furthermore, entering upon the post-Cold War era with the inadequacy of the special controls by the international community for the non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction(hereinafter “WMD”) such as biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, so-called “rogue states” or terrorists which are against United States and the West are, in fact, eager to obtain these WMD that are very useful means for achieving their strategical goals. Today being fully aware of the threat to global security brought about by the proliferation of WMD, Western powers led by the United States reinforce the cooperation in order to prevent the proliferation. In particular, the U.S. has changed its strategy to be aggressive, and having realized the limitation of existing international law since what is called the So San incident, President Bush put forth the so-called PSI on May 31, 2003 to further strengthen the international society’s mutual assistance. PSI is a sort of multinational cooperation regime based on the participants’ voluntary performances within the international and participants’ domestic law framework. Thus the success of PSI depends on how faithfully the participants will carry out “Interdiction Principles”, and how positive they will be in taking part of the other PSI activities such as information exchange, interdiction training, etc. Ninety five countries including Korea so far have declared to fully participate in PSI, the fact which is regarded as the notable achievement made within a short period of about six years. In the mean time, in order to secure the lawful ground of PSI, the U.S. has tried to obtain the United Nations Security Counsel resolutions, recently succeeding in Resolution 1874 being adopted by the Security Counsel. Moreover, the U.S. keeps providing legality for PSI through the additional ways that, for instances, are the bilateral agreement with flag of convenience states and amendment of so-called ‘SUA’ Convention, etc. With respect to PSI, what we should not overlook is that general rules of international law cannot be applied as it is to the issues from North-South relationship. If Seoul disregards the inter-Korean agreements such as ‘Armistice Agreement’ and ‘Maritime Transportation Accord’ in dealing with the “rogue” government-Pyongyang, the spark of armed conflicts is likely to be ignited in Korean Peninsula. Korea as a dutiful member of global society, therefore, is desired to be active in undertaking the mission of PSI as well as to take a much wiser stance than before to north Korea. 소련의 붕괴로 탈냉전시대가 도래했다고 하나, 과거 9/11테러 사건을 비롯한 빈번하게 발생하는 테러사건들에 비추어 볼 때 국제사회가 결코 과거보다 안전해졌다고 쉽게 말할 수는 없을 것이다. 더군다나 생ㆍ화학무기 또는 핵무기와 같은 대량살상무기(이하, WMD라 한다)의 非확산을 위한 국제사회의 통제장치가 미비한 가운데 탈냉전을 맞이하여, 미국을 중심으로 하는 서방세계에 반기를 든 이른바 불량국가나 테러집단은 자신들의 전략 목적의 달성을 위하여 매우 유용한 수단인 이러한 WMD를 확보하고자 혈안이 되어 있는 게 현실이다. 오늘날 미국을 중심으로 하는 서구열강들은 WMD의 확산으로 인한 안보적 위협을 충분히 인식하고 이의 확산방지를 위한 공조 노력을 강화하고 있다. 특히, 미국은 9/11사태 이후 WMD의 확산 저지를 위해 군사적 조치를 포함하는 보다 공세적 전략으로 기존의 전략을 수정하였고, 이른바 ‘서산호’ 억류사건 이후로는 WMD 운송 차단을 위한 기존 국제법의 한계를 실감하여 부시 대통령이 2003. 5. 31. 이른바 PSI를 주창함으로써 국제사회의 공조 노력을 더욱 강화해 왔다. PSI는 참여국들의 자발적 조치와 이행에 기반한 일종의 협력체제로서 국제법과 참여국의 국내법적 틀 안에서 작동되어지는 것인바, 얼마나 참여국들이 성실히 PSI의 차단원칙 이행에 협조하는지, 그밖에 정보교환, 훈련참가 등 제반 PSI 활동에 얼마나 적극적으로 참여하는지에 그 성공 여부가 달려 있는데 현재까지는 우리나라를 포함한 95개국이 전면 참여를 선언하여 6년이라는 짧은 세월에 상당한 참여를 이끌어내고 있다. 한편, PSI의 법적 정당성 확보를 위하여 유엔안전보장이사회의 결의를 이끌어내려고 노력하여 최근 對북한 제재 목적의 결의 1875호가 선포되는 성과도 있었고, 더불어 미국은 이른바 SUA협약의 개정이나 便宜置籍國들과의 양자협정체결 등을 통하여 PSI 실행의 법적 근거를 마련하고자 노력하고 있다. 그런데 우리가 주의해야 할 것은 남북한 관계는 일반적인 국제법질서가 그대로 적용될 수 없다는 점이다. 만일 우리나라가 PSI에 참여하기로 했다하여 정전협정이나 남북해운합의서와 같은 남북한 간에 별도로 맺은 합의를 무시하고 불량국가인 북한을 상대할 때에는 자칫 한반도에 분쟁의 불씨를 키우는 일이 될 수도 있을 것이다. 따라서 우리나라는 국제사회의 성실한 일원으로서 PSI 실행에 능동적으로 임함은 물론 對북한관계에 있어서도 과거보다 더욱 현명한 대처가 요망되는 것이다.

      • PbO · B_(2)O_(3)· AI_(2)O_(3) 유리계의 굴절률에 관한 연구

        The refractive indices in the PbOㆍ B_(2)O_(3)ㆍA1_(2)O_(3) glass system have been measured by the Liquid Immerson method under the Leitz-Orthohxpd Pola-rizing microscope as function of the PbO composition. The refractive idex is increasing in proportion to the PbO camposition without any connection with A1_(2)O_(3), ccmposition. However, it does not increase above 45 mol, % PbO composition. The reason is that amount of Pb ion acts as the glass modifier under the 45mol, %PbO in the PbOㆍB_(2)O_(3)ㆍA1_(2)O_(3) glass system, and that parts of Pb ion become the formation a tom of glass acts as the glass former with the above 45 mol, % PbOㆍB_(2)O_(3)ㆍA1_(2)O_(3) glass system.

        In order to know whether in understanding concepts of the falling motion of the middle school students the learning guidance based on the history of science is the effective learning method or not, on the basis of investigation and analysis of the degree of preconception of the falling motion of students, the conceptual lesson is done through learning the process of changes of the scientific concepts appearing in the history of science and discussion. In the light of the student' motivation and interest, when lesson was over, they said that the learning guidance based on the history of science was better than the traditional ones. Students' grades were about 15% better than that of the control group.

        Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic integration of enrofloxacin against Salmonella Enteritidis after administering to broiler chicken by per-oral and intravenous routes

        It is crucial to optimize the dose of fluoroquinolones to avoid antibiotic resistance and to attain clinical success. We undertook this study to optimize the dose of enrofl xacin against Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis (S. Enteritidis) in chicken by assessingits pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) indices. The antibacterial activities of enrofl xacin against S. Enteritidis were evaluated. After administering 10 mg/kg body weight (b.w.) of enrofl xacin to broiler chickens of both sexes by intravenous (IV) and peroral (PO) routes, blood samples were drawn at different intervals and enrofl xacin concentrationsin plasma were determined. PK/PD indices were calculated by integrating the PK and PD data. The elimination half-lives (T1/2), time required to reach peak concentration (Tmax), peak concentration (Cmax), and area under curve (AUC) after administering enrofl xacin by PO and IV routes were 25.84 ± 1.40 h, 0.65 ± 0.12 h, 3.82 ± 0.59 µg/mL, and 20.84 ± 5.0 µg·h/mL, and 12.84 ± 1.4 h, 0.22 ± 0.1 h, 6.74 ± 0.03 µg/mL, and 21.13 ± 0.9 µg.h/mL, respectively. The bioavailability of enrofl xacin was 98.6% ± 8.9% after PO administration. The MICs of enrofl xacin were 0.0625–1 µg/mL against S. Enteritidis strains, and the MIC50 was 0.50 µg/ mL. The Cmax/MIC50 were 7.64 ± 0.2 and 13.48 ± 0.7 and the 24 h AUC/MIC50 were 41.68 ± 0.1 and42.26 ± 0.3 after administering the drug through PO and IV routes, respectively. The data in this study indicate that the application of 50 mg/kg b.w. of enrofl xacin to chicken through PO and IV routes with a dosing interval of 24 h can effectively cure S. Enteritidis infection, indicating the need for a 5-fold increase in the recommended dosage of enrofl xacin in chicken.

      • 중학교 수준별 과학교육을 위한 힘과 운동 단원의 실험 체계 연구

        The degree of difficulty of learning in the primary ten items of experiments (experiments in the chapter of force and motion) chosen in the eight kinds of middle school science-textbooks which are used in the 6th cumculum, and the necessity of level-study are analyzed. Making science teachers an object of questions, a degree of interest of students and a view of science teachers for learning are inquired, the system of learning, the method of study and the secondary tools for study are proposed. Putting these results of Investigation, the level-study, in order to induce an interest for sudents and develop student's ability, must be done, therefore the level- learning instruments and the standard of test are prepared. Contents of learning in textbooks are analyzed according to the level of students and reconstructed, the various complementary tools of learning, the model of teaching and learning are developed and supplied. In order to develop and preserve the desire of learning of various students at school, the study and training of teachers and the expansion of the related education facilities are needed.

        Electrical Resistivity and Transmittance Properties of Al- and Ga-codoped ZnO Thin Films

        Films were deposited on glass substrates by sputtering gallium-doped zinc oxide (GZO) (Ga2O3:90 wt%, ZnO: 10 wt%) and aluminum-doped zinc oxide (AZO) (Al2O3: 3 wt%, ZnO: 97 wt%)targets simultaneously using a direct-current (DC)/radio-frequency (RF) magnetron cosputtering system. The concentration of gallium (Ga) in the film was varied by using different RF powers for sputtering the GZO target with the DC power for sputtering the AZO target fixed. A minimum resistivitywas obtained at an RF sputtering power of 200 W for the GZO target when the DC sputtering power for the AZO target was fixed at 60 W. It was found that the resistivity of AZO thin films (6.40 × 10−3-cm for 0 W) could be lowered by more than one order by cosputtering AZO and GZO targets to make AGZO thin films (2.14 × 10−3-cm for 200 W) without lowering their transmittance at all. In addition, the origin of the enhancement in the electrical property of the AZO by additional Ga doping is discussed.

        Comparative Study of a Single-Incision Laparoscopic and a Conventional Laparoscopic Appendectomy for the Treatment of Acute Appendicitis

        Purpose: For the treatment of acute appendicitis, a conventional laparoscopic appendectomy (LA) has been widely performed. Recently, the use of single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) is increasing because it is believed to have advantages over conventional laparoscopic surgery. In this study, we compared SILS and a conventional LA. Methods: We analyzed the 217 patients who received laparoscopy-assisted appendectomies between August 2010 and April 2012 at Inje University Sanggye Paik Hospital. One hundred-twelve patients underwent SILS, and 105 patients underwent LA. For the two groups, we compared the operation times, postoperative laboratory results, postoperative pain,hospital stay, and postoperative complications. Results: The patients’ demographics, including body mass index, were not significantly different between the two groups. There were 6 perforated appendicitis cases in the SILS group and 5 cases in the LA group. The mean operative time in the SILS group was 65.88 ± 22.74 minutes whereas that in the LA group was 61.70 ± 22.27 minutes (P = 0.276). There were no significant differences in the mean hospital stays, use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs, and wound infections between the two groups. Conclusion: Postoperative pain, complications and hospital stay showed no statistically significant differences between the SILS and the LA groups. However, our SILS method uses a single trocar and two latex tubes, so cost savings and reduced interference during surgery are expected.
