        Recent Advances in 3D Bioprinted Tumor Microenvironment

        Tumors in vivo exist in a microenvironment, so-called tumor microenvironment (TME), which includes peripheral blood vessels, immune cells, fibroblasts, signalling molecules and extracellular matrix. In recent years, considerable efforts have been focused on developing bioprinting methods because 3D bioprinting can better recapitulate TMEs by accurately printing different types of TME cells in spatially localised regions. In this review, we first introduce TME and 3D bioprinting methods and later discuss bioprinted TMEs as tumor equivalents for understanding tumor biology as well as testing drug efficacy.

        Development of Tumor-Vasculature Interaction on Chip Mimicking Vessel Co-Option of Glioblastoma

        Vessel co-option (VC) differs from angiogenesis in that tumor cells grow toward blood vessels. Through VC, tumor cells can receive relatively more nutrients and oxygen from blood vessels. Despite its clinical significance, VC is relatively less studied compared to angiogenesis because of difficulties in longitudinal observation of VC in vivo and lack of proper VC models in vitro. A needle template method in which microchannels are formed in hydrogel by needles was used to form blood vessels and mimic angiogenesis. However, it has not yet been used to mimic VC. In this study, we report the development of VC on chip based on the needle template method. On the VC on chip, the effect of distance between spheroids and blood vessels on VC induction was investigated by seeding glioblastoma (GBM) spheroids 50 and 250 μm from the preformed blood vessels. Irrespective of distance, cancer cells from the spheroids grew toward the blood vessels but did not penetrate the vessels, indicating that GBM cells showed VC-like behavior. These results suggest that our chip could recapitulate VC in GBM.

      • 이동 애드 혹 네트워크에서의 환경적응형 QoS AODV 라우팅 프로토콜에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we propose a bidirectional mobile Ad Hoc routing protocol based on AODV(ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing) with QoS(quality of service) support. At presence, wireless mobile communication focuses on how to efficiently support mobility of users more than QoS guarantee. However, in order to satisfy requirement of various applications which have been or will be served, QoS guarantee between end points is a very important issue. The existing AODV routing protocol is implemented to use only BE (Best Effort) service. However, actual wireless mobile environment requires to reduce a waste of communication resources and meet with the real-time change of data paths by setting up routes with QoS support, considering available communication resources at each node in advance. Therefore, in this thesis, we propose an adaptive QoS support method using hello message in order to rapidly meet with the change of available communication resources and to smoothly perform route maintenance. For performance evaluation, we analyzed the average data reception rate. At that time, we used evaluation parameters such as node's mobility-stop time, hello message period, and packet priority, considering the node's mobility and the number of best effort/QoS data flows. As results, we found that with our proposed method the average data reception rate was increased 16.293%, 15.914%, 17.238% for 300 mobility-stop second case and 4.809%, 4.264%, 2.956% for 300 mobility-stop second case.

      • 공학입문설계교과의 통합운영이 신입생의 창의적 설계능력에 미치는 효과

        본 논문에서는 명지대학교에 적용된 공학입문설계 교과목의 통합교육 운영사례를 소개한다. 이 사례를 통하여 공학입문설계 통합교육 및 교육환경의 체계화가 공학입문설계 교과를 수강하는 1학년 신입생들의 설계능력과 창의적 사고능력 향상에 어떠한 효과가 있는 지를 분석했다. 이를 위해 명지대 학교 공학교육혁신센터의 Engineering Clinic Center(E.C.C) 에서 수집된 최근 3 년간 (2010~2012)의 공학입문설계 통합교육 운영결과를 수집하여 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 1) 공학입문설계 강좌의 전용강의실 운영방식 적용, 2) 공학입문설계 교육환경 점진적 개선에 따른 효과, 3) 공학입문설계 통합운영방식의 체계화와 적용에 대한 효과, 4) 공학입문설계 교육방법 및 운영방법의 점진적 개선을 통한 효과 등의 4가지 측면에서의 접근법을 통해 결과를 비교분석하였다. This paper introduces a case of integrated management of introductory engineering design (IED) course at Myongji university. Using this case, analysis on the effects of integrated management of the IED course and systemic education environment on freshmen’s design ability and creative thinking ability is performed. Collected data for recent 3 years (2010-2012) from the Engineering Clinic Center (E. C. C.) of Engineering innovation Center at Myongji university were used. The results were compared and analyzed in the following 4 viewpoints : 1) operation of classrooms dedicated for the IED course, 2) effects of gradual improvement of environment for IED course, 3) effects of systematize and application of unified operation of the IED course, 4) effect of gradual improvement of education methodology and management method.

        Abstract - In this thesis, we propose a QoS supporting method on wireless ad hoc-based active network for improving reliability. On the loss of route path, the existing DSR routing protocol has several problems with wireless network communication because of decease of data reception rate and increase of network load. The proposed method improves reliability of data transfer by using functions of active network. That is, by using functions of active nodes and active packets, the proposed method supports QoS with reservation transfer method that saves data packets on transfer at intermediate nodes with lost path and then re-transmit the packets after route reconfiguration.

        마황천오약침의 비만치료응용에 대한 연구

        Objectives : This study is to research if any acupucture points are more effective, when Mahuang-chuanwu herbal acupucture is applied to the theatment of obesity. Methods : We searched oriental medical literatures and papers. Results : 1. Mahuang-chuanwu Herbal Acupuncture consists of distilled water of Ma-hunag and Chuan-wu, and it has the following effects : channel-warming, cold-dispering and eliminating damp. therefore it is applied to the treatment of obesity. 2. The acupuncture points, which have effects of channel-warming, cold-dispering and eliminating damp, are six : Kwanwon(Cv4), Kihae(CV6), Changmun(Liv13), Chok-samni(St36), Chung-wan(Cv12), Chonchu(St25). And Kwanwon(Cv4), Kihae(CV6), Changmun(Liv13), Chung-wan(Cv12), Chonchu(St25) locate on the abdomen. 3. Morbidly obese people, especially those in which their bellies are very large, are so because often the binding properties of the Taemaek(G26) have weakend. therefore Taemaek(G26) will be more effecive than Changmun(Liv13) that locate on right below the free end of the 11th rib, at the lateral side of the chest. 4. Mahuang-chuanwu Herbal Acupuncture will be most effective on the treatment of obesity with cold and damp as additional treatment, when it is injected into Kwanwon(Cv4), Kihae(CV6), Chonchu(St25), Taemaek(G26).

        오공약침으로 치료한 슬와부 통증 환자 2례

        Objectives : This study is to report the effect of Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture on two patients suffering from the pain of popliteal part. Methods : We treated the patients with the pain of popliteal part by acupuncture according to meridian(Taeyang and Soyang-Meridian), and we injected 0.1${\sim}$0.2cc of Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture to his pain site. And then we evaluated their pain by VAS(Visual Analog Scale). Results : 1. A combined treatment-Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture and Acupucture- had a very excellent effect on relieving pain of popliteal part originated from trigger point and referred pain of Popliteus or Biceps Femoris. 2. It appears that Scolopendrid Pharmacopuncture is very effective against trigger point of muscle and pain site fixed.

        With rapid growth of the internet, need for the mobile communication networks is increasing. In this paper, we implement and test Mobile IP Protocol in Embedded System. Our Mobile IP-based testbed consisted of two sub-networks and each sub-network was configured to operate independently through use of router. To satisfy integrated wired/wireless network model established on the testbed design and show generality of the testbed, we implemented mobile nodes, home agent, foreign agent and router on the basis of Linux operating system. As the results of the evaluation, we confirmed that mobile nodes operated properly according to Mobile IP Protocol.

        유비쿼터스 환경의 출현에 따라 멀티 홉 통신이 탑재된 이동 단말기로 쉽게 유선 인터넷망에 접속하여 시스템을 제어하거나 정보를 공유하는 유.무선 통합망 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 현재 이동 Ad Hoc 네트워크와 유선망을 연결한 기존 유 무선 통합망에서는 게이트웨이를 이용한 이기종 네트워크 인터페이스 설정과 관련된 연구만 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 제안한 알고리즘은 경로 상에서 에러 발생 시 데이터 손실을 막기 위해 송신단말기와 목적지 단말기사이에 독립적인 다중경로를 설정하였다. 그 결과, 경로 에러 시 지속적으로 데이터를 전송하게 함으로써 네트워크의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있었다. With the advent of Ubiquitous environment, wired-wireless combination network is being studied very actively in which mobile nodes having multi-hop communication capability connect wired internet network easily, and shares the information. The study of wired and wireless combination network between MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) and wired network is being focused only on the configuration of heterogeneous network interface. The proposed algorithm establishes independent multi-paths between source node and destination node to prevent data loss when errors happen in route. As the result, it shows that the reliability of the combination network can be improved by making data transmit continuously on the route error.

        최근들어 MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network)망과 기존 유선망을 연결한 GMAHN(Global Mobile Ad Hoc Network)에 대한 관심이 이동 통신분야에서 증가하고 있다. 시시각각 변화하는 노드의 이동성으로 인해 토폴로지가 지속적으로 변화하는 MANET 환경에서 이동 노드와 유선망간의 신뢰성 있는 데이터 전송을 위한 기술은 필수적이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 GMAHN 환경에서 송신단과 수신단사이의 신뢰성 있는 데이터 전송을 보장하는 TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) 프로토콜(Tahoe, Reno, Vegas, SACK) 메커니즘을 이용하여 다양한 환경에 적용, 결과 값을 비교 분석하며 가장 효율적인 TCP 메커니즘을 제시하였다. Recently, GMAHN that provides interface between MANET and Wired Network has been focused in mobile communication. It is necessary that the technology provide reliable data transmission technology between mobile node and wired network in MANET environment that is varied by the node movement. In this paper, using the TCP protocol(Tahoe, Reno, Vegas, SACK)that increases reliability between source and destination, we applied the TCP protocol mechanism to various environment, and proposed the most efficient TCP mechanism by comparing each mechanism.
