마우스 경구 및 경피투여에 의한 SiO₂ 나노입자의 체내분포

Tissue distribution of SiO₂ nanopaprticles was investigated in mice after oral administration or skin treatment. ICR Male mice were treated with SiO₂ nanoparticles 2,5 g/㎏/day for five consecutive days and sacrificed at 24 hours after the last administration. As results, the orally administered SiO₂ nanoparticels were distributed in the testis and kidney but not in lung at 24 hours after the last treatment. In case of skin treatment, SiO₂ nanoparticles were distributed to lung as well as testis, brain, kidney and liver. The results suggested that SiO₂ nanoparticles (12㎚) are easily absorbed through entero-gastric system or skin.
홍도라지 추출물이 마우스에서 분리한 비장세포에서 lipopolysaccharide로 유도된 염증에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 LPS로 활성화된 마우스 비장세포에서 Platycodin D가 함유된 홍도라지 추출물의 항염증 효능을 알아보기 위하여 비장세포 증식능과 NO 생성 및 염증 관련 사이토카인을 측정하였다. 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 마우스 비장세포에 1 μg/mL 농도의 LPS를 처리하였을 때 비장세포의 증식능이 3배 이상 증가하였으며 홍도라지 추출물 처리 시 증가 된 증식능이 유의하게 감소되었다. 2. 마우스 비장세포에 1 μg/mL 농도의 LPS를 처리하였을 때 비장세포의 NO생성이 증가하였으며, 홍도라지 추출물 처리 시 농도 의존적으로 증가 된 NO생성이 줄어들었다. 3. 마우스 비장세포에 1 μg/mL 농도의 LPS를 처리하였을 때 염증관련 사이토카인 IL-6와 항염증 사이토카인 IL-10 분비가 증가되었으며, 홍도라지 추출물 처리시 농도 의존적으로 증가 된 IL-6의 분비가 감소되었다. IL-10 분비에는 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 위의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때, 본 연구는 홍도라지 추출물이 ex vivo 실험 을 통해 항염증관련 인자들의 조절을 통하여 과민면역반응을 효과적으로 억제한다는 근거를 확인하였다. 이에 동물실험과 인체적용시험을 통해 홍도라지 추출물의 과민면역반응 억제 효능에 관한 후속 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. Purpose: Platycodon grandiflorum (PG) is known to have effective antimicrobial and anticancer activity. The main bioactive components of PG are saponins, and these could contribute to anti-inflammatory activity. However, little is known about the anti-inflammatory effect of PG. In this study, we aim to assess the anti-inflammatory response to Red PG Extract (RPGE) in splenocytes under ex vivo conditions. Methods: The cell viability of isolated splenocytes taken from mice was analyzed by performing a Cell Counting Kit-8 assay. The productions of nitric oxide (NO) and cytokines (specifically interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-10 (IL-10)) were measured utilizing Griess reagent and ELISA, respectively. Results: We found that co-treatment with RPGE and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) decreased isolated splenocyte proliferation as compared with that of the LPS-stimulated control. We also observed that RPGE markedly suppressed NO synthesis and IL-6 production that was induced by LPS. There were no significant differences of IL-10 production between co-treatment with RPGE plus LPS and treatment with LPS alone. Conclusion: When taken together, our data has shown that RPGE mitigates LPS-induced inflammation in splenocytes isolated from mice. Further research is surely needed to confirm the anti-inflammation effects of RPGE in an in vivo model.
가미형개연교탕(加味荊芥蓮翹湯)이 만성부비동염(慢性副鼻洞炎)의 비강섬모운동(鼻腔纖毛運動)에 미치는 영향(影響)

Background: Delayed mucociliary clearance develops the pooling of nasal secretion in the nasal cavity and is a common cause of vicious cycle of symptoms in chronic sinusitis. mucociliary clearance depends on the ciliary activity, the rheological property of the secretion and on the interaction between cilia and the mucous blanket. Objective: To demonstrate the therapeutic effect of herbal medicine (Hyunggyeyungotang) on the mucociliary transport in the chronic sinusitis using saccharine Materials and methods: Forty patients treated in our hospital between september 2000 and september 2001 were studied. Before and after therapy group are composed of twenty patients. Kamihyunggyeyungyotang was administered mainly. We analyzed the saccharine mucociliary transport time of patients. Results: 1) In the control group, the transport time is about 13.4 minutes. 2) In chronic sinusitis before Kamihyunggyeyungotang therapy, the transport time is about 27.7 minutes. 3) In chronic sinusitis after Kamihyunggyeyungotang therapy, the transport time is about 13.8 minutes. Conclusion: Delayed mucociliary transport time in chronic sinusitis is earlier after Kamihyunggyeyungotang therapy.
비(非)구조화된 정도에 따른 비례 문제 유형에서 나타난 초등학생의 비례추론에 관한 연구

대부분의 초등학생이 어려워하는 개념 중 하나인 비례추론은 이후 함수적 사고, 대수적 사고, 그리고 수학적 사고에 연결되는 본질적인 개념이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학교 6학년 학생들의 비례추론의 발달 단계를 분석하기 위해 서로 다른 비례문제를 적용하여 비례추론의 발달 단계에 비례문제의 유형과 문제의 비(非)구조화된 정도가 어떠한 영향을 주는지 학생들의 구체적인 문제해결 과정을 통해 살펴보았다. 초등학교 6학년 학생들의 비례추론의 발달단계를 분석한 결과, 과반수의 학생이 모든 문제에서 비례적 추론 단계로 나타났으며 문제에 따라 서로 다른 다양한 비례추론의 발달단계가 나타났다. 특히, 수리적 비교 문제보다 미지값 구하기 문제에서 과도기 비례적 추론의 발달단계가 더 높은 비율로 나타났다. Proportional reasoning is considered as a difficult concept to most elementary school students and might be connect to functional thinking, algebraic thinking, and mathematical thinking later. The purpose of this study is to analyze the sixth graders' development level of proportional reasoning so that children's problem solving processes on different proportional problem items were investigated in a way how the problem type of proportion and the degree of ill-structured affect to their levels. Results showed that the greater part of participants solved problems on the level of proportional reasoning and various development levels according to type of problem. In addition, they showed highly the level of transition and proportional reasoning on missing value problems rather than numerical comparison problems.

The author measured IL-8 and $TGF-{\beta}1$ levels of 84 ears - 48 ears of them had treated by antibiotics, 36 of them by Kamihyunggyeyungyotang(KHY) - of pediatric recurrent otitis media with effusion using ELISA assay, and compared them. The results were obtained as follows. 1. The level of IL-8 in KHY group was significantly lower than that in antibiotics group(p<0.05). 2. The level of $TGF-{\beta}1$ in KHY group was lower than that in antibiotics group. According to above results, KHY is considered to be used for treating recurrent otitis media with effusion by controlling the production of interleukin-8 and transforming $growthfactor-{\beta}1$.
