This paper examines a contemporary process of sustainability transition in the power sector from the perspective of socio-technical system theory. The study analyzes changes in the existing regimes within the nuclear and coal-fired power industries in the face of new transition pressures, whereas wind and solar power industries are analyzed in terms of the formation and expansion of niches within the electricity system. The study reveals that the nuclear energy system has managed to sustain its regime by downplaying security issues, while the coal-fired energy system has rapidly entered a path of regime dismantlement with the move towards phasing out coal. The niche industries based on wind and solar technology have hitherto failed to contribute more than a negligible proportion of electricity supply since their initial niche formation. Nevertheless, as a result of increasing exogenous pressure for energy transition these niches are facing new and varied growth opportunities. In conclusion, the tension between regimes and niches in South Korea’s electricity supply system is concentrated in the competition between the still-expanding nuclear energy industry and nascent renewable alternatives. This competition is expected to intensify with the opening of a supply gap created by the phase-out of coal power.

The Fridays for Future (FFF) movement is characterized by the rapid globalization and popularization of climate activism. What is the socio-political background of its explosive growth? This review article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of FFF based on an analysis of research into youth, climate change and sustainability, and social movement theory. The primary areas for this descriptive review include the climate consciousness of young participants, the modes of their political engagement, the moderate and/or radical stances of the movement, and its socio-political impacts. The examination delves deeper into young people’s role as the driving force behind the climate movement. Analysis of the FFF movement reveals that the global spread of climate awareness and young people’s commitment to alternative modes of political participation have drawn individuals towards this climate activism; the relatively moderate nature of the movement has ensured its popularity; moreover, various social groups have engaged in it because of their support for youth political engagement. In summary, the FFF movement highlights the significance of an open structure within movements as a vital requirement for expanding internationally; moreover, broad societal support for youth political engagement plays a facilitating role in transforming it into a mass movement.

Heating films were prepared with composites of poly (methyl methacrylate) and conductive graphite. The as-prepared composite was deposited on a PET film and then fabricated using a bar coater to produce a film with uniform thickness. Copper electrodes were attached to both ends of the as-prepared film, and the heating characteristics of the film were analyzed while applying a DC voltage. The electrical conductivity and heating temperature of the heating films depended on the size, structure, content, and the dispersion characteristics of the graphite in the composite. The thermal energy was adjusted by controlling the electrical energy, based on the Joule heating theory. The electrical resistance of the film was altered in proportion to Ohm's law, and the heating temperature was changed according to the structure of the film (interelectrode spacing or electrode length) and the conductive graphite content. When the content of conductive graphite in the film increases, the electrical resistance decreases, and the heating temperature increases; however, there is no significant change above a certain content (50%).

차량 이동환경에서 빈번하게 발생하는 핸드오버는 서비스 품질 저하의 주된 원인이다. 본 논문에서는 규칙적인 이동 경로를 갖는 차량의 이동 패턴을 학습하여 핸드오버 제어를 수행함으로서 핸드오버 빈도를 줄이고, 체류 시간이 매우 짧거나 이동 가능성이 낮은 셀로의 핸드오버를 방지하는 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해, 차량의 이동 패턴을 Markov Chain으로 모델링하였으며, 각 셀에서의 체류시간과 평균 신호의 세기를 관찰하여 핸드오버 제어에 이용하였다. 제안한 이동성 관리 기법의 검증을 위해 4개의 서울 시내버스 노선에 대해 적용하였으며, 실험 결과 제안 기법이 기존의 핸드오버 기법보다 핸드오버 빈도를 줄일 수 있으며, 버스 왕복 구간 동안의 평균 처리율이 더 높음을 확인할 수 있었다.
