        Simulation of Time Delay Communication algorithm in the Shallow Underwater Channel

        The need of data transmission in oceans and other underwater mediums are increasing day by day, so as the research. The underwater medium is very different from that of air. Propagation of electromagnetic wave in water or underground is very difficult because of the conductivity of the propagation materials. In this case, we usually use acoustic signals as ultrasonic but, they are not easy to transfer long distance with coherent method because of time varying multipaths, Doppler effects and attenuations. So, we use non-coherent methods such as FSK or ASK to communicate between long distances. But, as the propagation speed of acoustic wave is very slow, BW of the channel is narrow. It is very hard to guaranty the enough speed for the transmission of digital image data. In previous studies, we proposed this data communication protocol theoretically. In this paper, an underwater channel is modeled and this protocol is tested in this channel condition. The results show that the protocol is 4-6 times faster than ASK. Some relations and results are shown depending on the data length, channel length, bit rate etc.

        A variable rate real-time vocoder for digital mobile communication system is implemented with TMS320C50 DSP. This vocoder is developed with QCELP algorithm, and the complexity of the algorithm is 36.4 MIPS. The complexity of each block is calculated and SNR for several speech samples are calculated.

        The memorizing of music scores is a critical element for playing piano among other important musical factors. Without a confident memorization, a pianist can not be competent and often fails to complete a performance. This simple fact is nothing but a common sense, which is not, however, clearly recognized and well-practised. The memorizing of piano music scores is more difficult than that of monophony scores. The reason is that the piano as a musical instrument is not a simple monophony instrument, but plays polyphony music. Therefore piano music scores have features of condensed form of a chamber music or a symphony at times. The scores of piano music can be hardly memorized before a thorough analysis of the composition technique, regularity and harmony. Another essential element for a food piano playing is the fingering method. The rational and economical fingering can enhance the musical effect. Hence the continued search for a good fingering will improve both performance ability and musical effect. In addition to the memorizing of scores, it is also important to memorize the playing method concerning musical expression marks, dynamics, articulation and phrasing. The memorization of playing method is essential to convey the vitality of the composition. Otherwise, a pianist can only repeat a dull mechanical array of scores on the keyboard without his or her own interpretation of the composer's intention. The practice of memorizing music scores should not begin with a complicated piece of large-scale. It would be desirable to start from simple pieces and then move to sophisticated ones. As for a large-scale piece, and attempt to memorize the entire scores at once is not preferrable. A more productive method is to break it into several smaller segments for an easier memorization. Once accustomed to this method of practice, one can readily memorize a long sophisticated piece. Such an effort of score memorization will help to deepen the understanding of a musical effect of score memorization will help to deepen the understanding of a mucial composition. moreover, the pianist can increase his or her confidence and produce a greater musical effect in actual performance. A thorough examination and careful analysis of music scores leads to an unmistakable memorization which in turn insures a dynamic performance. As for an analysis, the present paper takes Beethoven's piano sonata, Op. 2, No. 1, which is not large in scale, but requires a variety of techniques. A mastery of this sonata can be made possible with the memorization of the scores as suffested so far.

        A high jugular bulb is often found as an incidental finding that is asymptomatic. High jugular bulb dehiscence may often cause pulsatile tinnitus. We report one case of pulsatile tinnitus due to dehiscent high jugular bulb and chronic otitis media, which has been successfully treated by surgical reconstruction with tragal cartilage and soft tissue.

        부인두강에서 발생한 아령모양의 신경초종

        Although uncommon and mostly benign, primary parapharyngeal space tumors constitute important pathologies of the head and neck due to the difficulties encountered in their preoperative assessment and surgical treatment. The parapharyngeal space typically divides into pre-styloid and post-styloid space. When deep lobe parotid tumor extends to the parapharyngeal space, the tumor frequently assumes a dumbbell shape, due to opening of stylomandibular tunnel is narrow and relatively inextensible. So many Head and neck clinician regarded prestyloid, dumbbell shaped tumor as parotid origin tumor. In this report, we describe a case of dumbbell shaped pre-styloid paraphayngeal space tumor at CT imaging, which was turned out Schwannoma, that was successfully treated with operation.

        Difference and Identity: A Reading of Nora Okja Keller's Comfort Woman

        Cultural identity has been an ongoing issue for minority group members in the United States, of which Asian American literature has been an active site. Asian American women's literature, especially Korean, Chinese, and Japanese American women's literature, has taken a more complex task to deal with this issue of identity while attempting to foreground feminist consciousness. Nora Okja Keller's Comfort Woman proves a significant achievement in this issue through a highly artistic and symbolic rendering of the colonial violence upon women's body, turning the memory of the violence into the basis for sympathy with others and the formation of a new hybrid identity of Korean American women. Adopting the Korean shamanic ritual of possession as a key device to impersonate others, to understand and become others, and to remember and mourn the victims of the colonial violence that had been omitted from the official history, Keller adumbrates the possibility of the emergence of a new type of identity for Korean American women, beyond the concept of individual agency toward a more fluid, flexible, and sympathetic identity, which urges readers' imagination for further exploration.

        기동함정의 소음분석 및 유사 방사음 발생기의 설계

        기동하는 잠수함이나 함정 등의 방사 소음 특성은 토날 신호와 광대역 배경잡음으로 구분된다. 토날 신호는 함정의 모터나 엔진의 회전등으로 인한 것이고, 배경잡음은 기동 시 일어나는 함정 주변의 기포들의 발생과 소멸로 인한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 ATW 알고리즘을 이용하여 수중 기동함정의 방사소음을 분석한다. 또한 분석한 소음을 바탕으로 힐버트 변환을 이용하여 광대역 유사 잡음을 발생시킬 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 분석한 토날 신호를 합성함으로써 유사 방사 잡음 발생 시스템을 설계한다. 이 시스템은 현장 기동함정과 유사한 소음을 발생시키게 함으로써 적으로부터 아군의 함정이 노출되었을 때 기만기로 사용함으로써 적의 어뢰 등의 공격을 피할 수 있는 시스템으로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. The noise characteristics of the submarines and vessels are composed of tonal signals and background noises. Tonal signals are from the revolution of the motors or engines, and background noises are from the generation and disappearing of the bubbles around the vessels. We analyze the noises from maneuvering underwater vessels with ATW algorithm. We design broadband asymptotic noise generator using Hilbert transform and design the system which can generate asymptotic noise with sum of generated background noise and synthesized tonal signals. This system can be used as a cheating system from the torpedo shacks.
