KAERI has worked on the development of an advanced spent fuel conditioning process (ACP) since 1997. A hot cell facility, termed the ACPF, has also been developed. The ACPF consists of two air-sealed hot cells. The results of a safety analysis as part of the license procurement process stipulated by the Korean Government showed that the facility was designed safely. After its construction, an integrated performance test was performed. The results of this test confirmed that the facility satisfies the design requirements.

The resistance performances of a small leisure yacht with two different keels, center and double, respectively, are investigated using a model test at circulating water channel and CFD analysis. Flow patterns around the keels are observed using a tuft test to make clear the relation between the resistance performance and the flow characteristics around the keels. The results show that the keel does not affect free surface flows and that the double keel yacht has better performance compared to a single keel yacht in oblique condition from the resistance point of view.
만성 경추, 요추 추간판 탈출증 질환군의 우울 척도(BDI) 비교 연구

Objective : It is known that depression disorder has been related to chronic pains such as HIVD and physical harm. We propose that chronic cervical and lumbar herniations of intervertebral disc patients have emotional and psychiatric problems, therefore we compared it to Beck`s Depression Inventory scores. Method : We divided them into two groups: The groups consisted of cervical and lumbar HIVD patients. We then requested them to fill out BDI research questionnaires, and evaluated patients according to the information and results. Result : The Beck`s Depression Inventory mean score for the cervical - lumbar HIVD group was 14.00±6.80, 10.83±5.64 each. Higher scores were recorded for cervical HIVD group than the lumbar HIVD group. Conclusion : There is statistical significance among two groups.(p<.05) however, the two groups` BDI score were lower than the defined boundary line of Depressiondisorder(16 points).

질산염은토양으로부터 식물에 흉수되어 단백질합성에 이용되는 필수성븐이나 그 안전성에 대하여 논란이 되고있다. 본 연구에서는 운리나라에서 저산되는 채소류의 질산염(NO3-) 함량을조사하여 잔류실태를 과악하고 외국의 모니터링 자료와 비교 평가하고자 하였다. 전국에서 생산되는 배추, 무우, 상치, 시금치를 재배방법, 재배시기에 따라 각각 100건ㅆ기 총 400건을 채취, Ion chromatography를 이용하여 질산염 함량을 측정하였다. 조사결과 재배방법, 재배 시기에 따른 채소류의 질산염함량은 큰 차이가 없었으며, 채소종류별 질산염 함량은 시금치 311-5522(평균 2788mg/kg), 상치 542-4484(평균 .2287m9/kg), 무우 273-4151(평균 15mg/kg), 배추 362-3035(평균 1498mg/kg)으로 나타났다. 따라서 국내 채소류의 질산염함량은 외국의 모니터fi 결콰와 유사하거나 낮은 수준므로나타났다. 국래 채소류의 질산염은 식물에 정상적으로 존재하는 함량으로 건강에 위해가 없는 것으로 판단되었다. Nitrate is taken up from the soil by plants for protein synthesis and present in vegetables as a natural component and/or contaminant. The objective of this study was to estimate nitrate(NO_(3)^(-)) contents of some vegetables(Chinese cabbage, radish, lettuce, spinach) which were produced in Korea and provide a scientific basis for the evaluation of risk to public health arising from dietary exposure to nitrate. A total of 400 samples were taken over a period of one year and analysed of nitrate using Ion Chromatography. From the results, in general, nitrate levels in vegetables produced by 2 growing methods and 2 harvest seasons were not different. The minimum, maximum and mean values of nitrate are spinach 311-5522,2788; lettuce 542-4484,22871;radish 273-4151, 1551; Chinese cabbage 362-3015,1498 (mg/kg). Nitrate contents of vegetables grown in Korea are similar to the other monitoring results.
