Pomeranian에서 발생한 치주 질환에 의한 비염 1례

A 10-year-old spayed female dog with history of persistent nasal discharge and halitosis was presented. In oral examination, there were severe dental calculi and gingivitis. The radiographic imaging showed lesions of left nasal cavity and periodontal membrane. In computed tomographic imaging, there are increased density of left nasal cavity, loss of nasal concha and partial defect of nasal septum. Many inflammatory cells were observed in nasal cytology. The result of culture from nasal smear was negative. All these findings result in rhinitis by dental calculi and gingivitis. The dog got improved after scaling, tooth extraction, and medical treatment.
국부 마모 부품을 위한 레이저 표면강화 열처리에 관한 연구

두께 10mn 일반기계구조용강재를 사용하여 레이저 종류에 따른 표면경화 열처리특성에 관하여 알아보았다. 경화층의 형성은 레이저의 종류에 크게 영향을 받았는데, 표면경화 열처리를 위해서는 파장이 짧은 Nd-YAG 레이저를 사용하는 것이 유리하였다. 경화층의 최고경도는 700Hv 가량으로 높게 나타났으며, 레이저 표면경화 열처리는 상온에서 사용되는 부품의 내마모성 향상 특히 국부 마모를 겪는 부품에 효과적일 것으로 판단되었다.

조선시대 자기의 특성화를 위하여 중성자방사화분석법으로 15개의 미량성분원소 (Sm,Ga,K,La,Ce,Yb,Th,Hf,Na,Cs,Sc,Rb,Fe,Co,Eu) 함량을 결정하였다. 데이타의 수학적 처리법으로서 선형판별식분석법을 사용하였다. 이 선형판별식분석법으로서 자기의 분류에 유용한 변수를 선정한 다음 재차 선형결합방식으로 분류규칙을 구하였다. 판별점수로서 평면상에 도시한 결과 경기도 광주군 상번천리5호, 상번천리9호 및 도수리 청·백자의 분류효율은 각각 12/15,15/15,10/10이었다. Data on the concentration of Sm,Ga,K,La,Ce,Yb,Th,Hf,Na,Cs,Sc,Rb,Fe,Co and Eu obtained by neutron activation analysis have been used to characterize Korean porcelain by multivariate analysis. A combination of analytical data by means of statistical linear discriminant analysis(SLDA) has resulted in removal of redundant variables, optimal linear combination of meaningful variables and formulation of classification rules. The plot in the first-to-second discriminant scores has shown that the three distinct territorial regions exist among porcelains of Kyungkido Sangbunchulli No. 5, Sangbunchulli No. 9 and Dosuri, with respective efficiencies of 12/15,15/15 and 10/10.

Excretory urography is a type of contrast study used to verify and localize upper urinary tract disease. It is an inexpensive and easy way to visualize of anatomic and functional status of the kidney and has been used as a primary imaging modality for the evaluation of urinary tract abnormalities. We describe urological signs of 7 dogs who examined with excretory urography and ultrasonography. Six cases were referred to veterinary medical teaching hospital. Chungnam national university (VMTH, CNU) to evaluate renal function after the treatment for renal failure and one case was referred showing hematuria. In case 1, 2 and 4, blood test and urinalysis was normal and the results of excretory urography presented that renal function were normal range. In case 3, the results of urinalysis, ultrasonography, and excretory urography except blood test presented abnormal kidney and hydronephrosis was diagnosed. In case 5 and 6, blood test, urinalysis, ultrasonography and excretory urography indicated renal failure. In case 7, blood test, urinalysis and ultrasonography presented partially abnormal signs, however, the results of excretory urography was normal range.

3-Phase BLDC Motor, which is generally used, has limited usage in high speed, due to pulsation torque occurring commutation and variable speed. To solve this problem, it is necessary to increase invariable, pole number or the number of slots. Currently, due to rapid growth of semiconductor technology and trend toward smaller and cheaper production of switching device, Multi-Phase BLDC Motor for high speed and high output power is being actively pursued to produce. In this paper 7-Phase BLDC Motor drive system and controller are designed and 7-Phase modulation method with 6-Phase conduction is studied for ideal operation of controller.

BLACK HOLES IN GALACTIC NUCLEI: ALTERNATIVES AND IMPLICATIONS

Recent spectroscopic observations indicate concentration of dark masses in the nuclei of nearby galaxies. This has been usually interpreted as the presence of massive black holes in these nuclei. Alternative explanations such as the dark cluster composed of low mass stars (brown dwarfs) or dark stellar remnants are possible provided that these systems can be stably maintained for the age of galaxies. For the case of low mass star cluster, mass of individual stars can grow to that of conventional stars in collision time scale. The requirement of collision time scale being shorter than the Hubble time gives the minimum cluster size. For typical conditions of M31 or M32, the half-mass radii of dark clusters can be as small as 0.1 arcsecond. For the case of clusters composed of stellar remnants, core-collapse and post-collapse expansion are required to take place in longer than Hubble time. Simple estimates reveal that the size of these clusters also can be small enough that no contradiction with observational data exists for the clusters made of white dwarfs or neutron stars. We then considered the possible outcomes of interactions between the black hole and the surrounding stellar system. Under typical conditions of M31 or M32, tidal disruption will occur every $10^3$ to $10^4$ years. We present a simple scenario for the evolution of stellar debris based on basic principles. While the accretion of stellar material could produce large amount of radiation so that the mass-to-light ratio can become too small compared to observational values it is too early to rule out the black hole model because the black hole can consume most of the stellar debris in time scale much shorter than mean time between two successive tidal disruptions. Finally we outline recent effort to simulate the process of tidal disruption and subsequent evolution of the stellar debris numerically using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics technique.
Acupuncture analgesia for operation in Korean native goats

The purpose of this study is to establish the analgesic effects of electroacupuncture for Korean native goat. Electroacupuncture was applied to the 6 Korean native goats. In 3 of them, rumenotomy was performed, and in the other 3, laparotomy was done. The analgesic induction time was 15 to 30 minutes. The acupoints used were Tian-ping (Celestial Peace, GV-5), Bai-hui (Hundred Meetings, Gv-20), left 13th thoracic nerve and left 3rd lumbar nerve. Electroacupuncture was performed in lateral recumbency. Needles were inserted 1-2cm deep, and connected to the electroacupuncture apparatus. The electrical stimulation condition was 30 Hz and 2-6 volts. Initially, the voltage of analgesia mode was maximized in each channel. And, the output was slowly reduced to the critical point that goats could tolerate without obvious discomfort or pain. Surgical operation was done successfully under electroacupuncture analgesia in 6 Korean native goats. In addition, the changes of temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate were studied during acupuncture analgesia. For 3 months after surgery, no experimental animals showed clinical problem in 6 Korean native goats.
BLUE STRAGGLERS, CATACLYSMIC VARIABLES, X-RAY BINARIES, AND MILLISECOND PULSARS IN GLOBULAR CLUSTERS

Cores of globular clusters are an ideal place for close encounters between stars. The outcome of tidal capture can be stellar mergers, close binaries between normal stars (W UMa type), cataclysmic variables composed of white dwarf and normal star pairs, or low-mass X-ray binaries consisting of a neutron star and a normal star pairs. Stellar mergers can be the origin of blue stragglers in dense globular clusters although they are hard to observe. Low mass X-ray binaries would eventually become binary pulsars with short pulse periods after the neutron stars accrete sufficient amount of matter from the companion. However, large number of recently discovered, isolated millisecond pulsars (as opposed to binary pulsars) in globular clusters may imply that they do not have to gain angular speeds during the X-ray binary phase. We propose that these isolated millisecond pulsars may have formed through the disruptive encounters, which lead to the formation of accretion disk without Roche lobe filling companion, between a neutron star and a main-sequence star. Based on recently developed multicomponent models for the dynamical evolution of globular clusters, we compute the expected numbers of various systems formed by tidal capture as a function of time.
